The Washington Redskins re-signed wide receiver Brian Quick on Tuesday, according to his agents. Quick managed just six receptions for 76 yards in 11 games with Washington in 2017 and isn't on the fantasy radar. He'll provide depth behind Jamison Crowder, Josh Doctson, Paul Richardson and Maurice Harris with rookies Trey Quinn (ankle) and Cam Sims (ankle) injured.
The Washington Redskins re-signed wide receiver Brian Quick on Wednesday. The details of the contract were not disclosed. With Ryan Grant heading to the Jaguars and free-agent receiver Terrelle Pryor expected to move on, Quick could have a bigger role in 2018 with quarterback Alex Smith at the helm. However, Quick caught just six passes for 76 yards last year, so fantasy owners won't be holding their breath.
Washington Redskins wide receiver Brian Quick is on the roster bubble heading into training camp after not looking very great in spring practices. Quick is coming off his best season with the Rams, catching 41 passes for 564 yards, but he's unlikely to be in the top four receivers for Washington. Quick needs to perform well in training camp to remain on roster. You can avoid Quick in all fantasy leagues unless something crazy happens at training camp.
Brian Quick Overcomes Calf Injury, Catches 5-of-5 Targets
Brian Quick was active on Sunday despite being listed as questionable due to a calf injury suffered in practice. Quick was able to be a heavy contributor for the Rams, catching five passes for 61 yards. His five targets were third on the team to Kenny Britt and Lance Kendricks. Quick has been a solid redzone option for the Rams, but he was unable to find the endzone on a day where Case Keenum threw three touchdowns. Quick has carved out a role as the Rams third receiver, averaging five targets over the last three games. He'll be worth a desperation FLEX option next week against the Giants. If he continues to rip chunk gains as he did on Sunday, his role in the offense might continue to grow.
Brian Quick Catches Two Touchdowns, Looks to be Preferred Deep Threat
For the second week in a row, Brian Quick was able to find the end zone, catching two passes for 69 yards and two touchdowns. Quick is quickly establishing himself as the Rams' deep threat, grabbing a long touchdown once again This week, he was able to add to the long bomb, catching a four yard touchdown in the fourth quarter to put the Rams ahead for good. Incredibly, Quick's last three catches have been for touchdowns as continues to work his way back from a shoulder injury that cost him the last two seasons. With Case Keenum and the passing attack improving every week, the Rams will need Quick to provide a consistent over the top threat to take some attention off Todd Gurley and Tavon Austin closer to the line of scrimmage. His recent performance has put him on the Fantasy radar, although he is not worth burning waiver priority to acquire.
Brian Quick Looking Like the Odd Man Out in Los Angeles
Two years after Brian Quick was looking like the Rams' No.1 receiver, there may no longer be a spot for him on the team. Quick did not play in the Rams final preseason game, finishing the exhibition schedule with six receptions and 55 yards in three games including several dropped passes. With other options emerging on the roster, players like Pharoh Cooper, Nelson Spruce, Mike Thomas and Bradley Marquez present younger and cheaper options for the Rams. Unless he proves he's fully healed from his shoulder injury, Quick won't get much playing time behind Tavon Austin and Kenny Britt. Although he's ranked 251 in Rotoballer's rankings, Quick should not be drafted in any leagues as he may be in danger of being cut before the season starts.
