The Carolina Panthers have signed wide receiver Cam Phillips, who was last seen in the XFL, where he led the league in catches and receiving yards while playing for the Houston Roughnecks. He joins a team that already feature the quarterback who was throwing the ball to Phillips, P.J. Walker, and has some intriguing upside if he makes this team. Of course, the uncertainty around whether or not he can earn a roster spot makes it tough for fantasy managers to draft Phillips at this point, but he's a talented wideout who should be on fantasy watch lists in 2020, as he has the potential to breakout.
Buffalo Bills wide receivers Kaelin Clay (ribs) and Cam Phillips (groin) were both injured in practice on Friday. Neither wide receiver should be on anyone's fantasy radar. Clay has just six catches in one season played in the NFL since being drafted in 2015, while Phillips is an undrafted rookie that is just hoping to make the roster out of training camp. It's unknown how serious either injury is.
