Washington Redskins wide receiver Cody Latimer was arrested on Saturday morning in Douglas County, Colorado, on five charges. Latimer was later released after posting $25,000 bond. He was charged with three felonies (assault in the second degree, menacing, illegal discharge of a firearm) and two misdemeanors (prohibited use of a weapon and reckless endangerment). The 27-year-old was drafted by the Broncos in the second round in 2014 and spent four years in Denver before joining the Giants in 2017. He caught 24 passes for 300 yards and two touchdowns in the Big Apple in 2019, but he'll be facing a suspension from the league and is no longer a lock to stick with the Redskins after this incident.
The Washington Redskins agreed to an undisclosed deal with wide receiver Cody Latimer on Wednesday, according to a source. Latimer, a former second-round pick of the Broncos in the 2014 draft, spent the last two seasons with the Giants and had a career-high 24 receptions (42 targets) for 300 yards and two touchdowns in 15 games (10 starts) for New York in 2019. The 27-year-old has 70 career catches for 935 yards (13.4 yards per grab) and six touchdowns in 66 games (15 starts) in his six-year NFL career. There is opportunity in D.C. behind Terry McLaurin and Steven Sims Jr., but Latimer will have to compete for targets with Kelvin Harmon and Cam Sims, and the Redskins will also likely add some bodies at the position through the draft.
New York Giants wide receiver Cody Latimer came back from the sidelines on Sunday after Darius Slayton left the game early with an injury. Latimer seemed to be a focal point for Daniel Jones on a few drives, finishing with five catches for 44 yards and a touchdown. If Slayton is forced to miss next week, Latimer could be in play as a great value option for DFS lineups against a beatable Eagles secondary.
New York Giants wide receiver Cody Latimer found the end zone on Monday night after he was left wide open for a one-yard touchdown catch in the first half. However, he finished the night with only eight yards on two catches. Latimer is not an option in any size league right now. This was simply about one play.
New York Giants wide receiver Cody Latimer is set to start on Thursday with Sterling Shepard missing the game due to a concussion. The bad news for Latimer is that he's now the No. 1 outside receiver on the team with Golden Tate manning the slot. That means Latimer figures to see a lot of Patriots cornerback Stephon Gilmore, one of the best cornerbacks in the league. Latimer is not a recommended option outside the deepest of leagues.
New York Giants wide receivers Cody Latimer (concussion) and Bennie Fowler (hamstring) were both limited in practice on Wednesday. Latimer missed the Week 3 contest while Fowler was injured in the win over the Buccaneers. Both wideouts have a shot at playing this Sunday against the Redskins. However, even with star running back Saquon Barkley (ankle) sidelined, the return of Sterling Shepard makes both Latimer and Fowler unappealing starting fantasy options. Rookie quarterback Daniel Jones looked good in his NFL debut last week, but things will get more difficult without Barkley in the backfield. Shepard and tight end Evan Engram will remain Jones' top targets.
New York Giants wide receiver Cody Latimer (concussion) has been ruled out for Week 3 against the Buccaneers, while wideout Bennie Fowler (hamstring) is listed as questionable. New York's receiving corps continues to limp to action, but the good news is that Sterling Shepard (concussion) returned to a full practice Thursday and is on track to return for rookie quarterback Daniel Jones' NFL debut. Fowler was injured in practice this week and won't be a recommended fantasy option even if he plays. Shepard will be a risky volume-based WR4/flex in his return.
New York Giants wide receiver Cody Latimer (concussion) is not practicing on Wednesday. Latimer suffered a concussion in Week 2 and is looking very questionable to play in Week 3 against the Buccaneers. With Sterling Shepard also still in the concussion protocol, rookie quarterback Daniel Jones might be looking at a receiving corps of Bennie Fowler, Russell Shepard and T.J. Jones in his NFL debut this Sunday. Unless Sterling Shepard plays this weekend, expect the Giants to hand the ball off frequently to running back Saquon Barkley. Latimer wouldn't be a recommended play, even in deeper leagues, if he gets cleared.
New York Giants wide receiver Cody Latimer (concussion) suffered a concussion in Week 2 against the Bills and was ruled out for the rest of the game. The Giants remaining receivers are Bennie Fowler, Russell Shepard, Cody Core and T.J. Jones with Sterling Shepard (concussion) inactive for the game. That's just plain bad. Latimer caught three of five targets for 30 yards before departing. Even if he's cleared to play in Week 3, he's not on the fantasy radar as anything more than a desperation WR5 in deep leagues. The only attractive fantasy pieces in New York are running back Saquon Barkley and tight end Evan Engram.
New York Giants wide receiver Cody Latimer (calf) is active in Week 2 against the Bills. With Sterling Shepard (concussion) out, Latimer will likely start opposite Bennie Fowler with Russell Shepard in the slot in three-receiver sets. The Giants will run their offense through running back Saquon Barkley and tight end Evan Engram on Sunday in a very difficult matchup with Buffalo's defense. Latimer, Fowler and Shepard will be fighting for scraps, making them all very hard to trust in fantasy. If you're desperate, Latimer is a low-ceiling WR5 in the deepest of leagues.
