The Washington Football Team has released wide receiver Isaiah Wright as they begin to make cuts to their roster. This will not be the last move they make, as teams must trim their roster to 53 players before 4 p.m. on Tuesday. Wright was leapfrogged by Dax Milne as a punt returner, and with a loaded receiver room in Washington, the 24-year-old was the odd man out. He finished his rookie season with 27 receptions for 197 yards and three rushing attempts for 16 yards, so he could potentially be picked up by a team in need of a versatile receiver with punt returning abilities. The sophomore can be disregarded in fantasy because even if he were to sign somewhere, he would likely have a very limited role in the offense.
Washington Football Team wide receiver Isaiah Wright caught all six of his targets for 59 yards in a loss to the Lions on Sunday. Wright has nine targets and nine catches in his last two games after missing two games with an injury. Wight and receivers Steven Sims and Cam Sims have all fought for attention on the WR depth chart behind Terry McLaurin, but thus far none have stepped up to be another threat on the outside. The six targets are his most since Week 1 so Wright isn't a name to chase in standard-size fantasy leagues.
Washington Football Team wide receiver Isaiah Wright caught all three of his targets for 30 yards in a loss to the Giants on Sunday. The rookie Wright was overshadowed by Cam Sims as the WR2 for a Washington team that has lacked receiver depth behind Terry McLaurin. Wright doesn't have much fantasy appeal in a Washington offense that has struggled for most of the season.
Dontrelle Inman, Isaiah Wright Can Be Deep League Sleepers
Washington Football Team wide receivers Dontrelle Inman and Isaiah Wright have a great matchup versus a struggling Cowboys Defense in Week 7 and can be considered in 14-plus team fantasy leagues as flex options. Dallas allows the sixth-most fantasy points to opposing wide receivers. Both players had five targets last week as Washington desperately needs another WR to step up opposite Terry McLaurin. Wright hasn't scored a touchdown this season and neither has more than 45 yards in a game - so there's heavy risk involved in playing Inman or Wright - but they do have sleeper appeal thanks to a good matchup and are solid low-cost DFS plays in tournaments.
