The Washington Football Team elevated wide receiver Dontrelle Inman from the practice squad to the active roster on Friday ahead of the team's wild-card playoff game on Saturday night against the Buccaneers. Although Terry McLaurin (ankle) is questionable for wild-card weekend, he's expected to play. Inman just gives the team some experienced receiver depth for a group that is on the young side heading into the postseason. The 31-year-old pass-catcher has started just two of the 10 games he's played in this year, catching 18 passes on 28 targets for 163 yards and two touchdowns. Washington may have to throw the ball often to keep up with Tampa, but Inman should be ignored for fantasy purposes.
The Washington Football Team is releasing wide receiver Dontrelle Inman on Saturday in order to activate rookie wide receiver Antonio Gandy-Golden off of Injured Reserve, according to a source. Inman could be a nice veteran addition off waivers down the stretch for a contending club. After playing for the Colts and Chargers in 2019, Inman had just 18 receptions (28 targets) for 163 yards and two touchdowns in nine games (two starts) for Washington this season. No other receiver outside of second-year wideout Terry McLaurin has been a consistent fantasy threat for Washington in 2020. Cam Sims and Steven Sims Jr. should have more chances this weekend against the Panthers, but tight end Logan Thomas is the only realistic fantasy starter. Gandy-Golden will just be hoping to get his feet wet in the final two games of the season.
Washington Football Team wide receiver Dontrelle Inman (hamstring) will miss his third game in a row on Sunday against the Bengals. With Inman out, we'll see more of both Cam Sims and Steven Sims Jr. This could be a good game for the Washington passing attack, and while Terry McLaurin will benefit most from that, both of the Sims have upside, with Cam as a WR4 in all formats and Steven as a WR4 in full PPR.
Dontrelle Inman Inactive, Dwayne Haskins Jr. Active
Washington Football Team wide receiver Dontrelle Inman (hamstring) will sit out again in Week 10. It's likely we see heavier doses of Cam Sims for the second week in a row, though Sims isn't a strong fantasy play even with an expanded role. It's possible Steven Sims Jr. also gets more snaps. Meanwhile, with quarterback Kyle Allen (ankle) out for the season, Dwayne Haskins Jr. is active as the backup quarterback for Alex Smith.
Washington Football Team wide receiver Dontrelle Inman (hamstring) is inactive for Week 9 against the New York Giants, but wide receiver Steven Sims Jr. (toe) will make his return on Sunday. Sims has a decent floor based on his past production this season, though we'd need to see how his rapport with quarterback Kyle Allen goes before we call Sims more than a desperation play. Still, he's got a better chance than any other receiver on this roster to be the No. 2 guy to Terry McLaurin, so Sims is a good player to pick up off waivers this morning in 14-team leagues.
Dontrelle Inman, Isaiah Wright Can Be Deep League Sleepers
Washington Football Team wide receivers Dontrelle Inman and Isaiah Wright have a great matchup versus a struggling Cowboys Defense in Week 7 and can be considered in 14-plus team fantasy leagues as flex options. Dallas allows the sixth-most fantasy points to opposing wide receivers. Both players had five targets last week as Washington desperately needs another WR to step up opposite Terry McLaurin. Wright hasn't scored a touchdown this season and neither has more than 45 yards in a game - so there's heavy risk involved in playing Inman or Wright - but they do have sleeper appeal thanks to a good matchup and are solid low-cost DFS plays in tournaments.
Washington Football Team wide receiver Dontrelle Inman caught all five of his targets for 45 scoreless yards in a loss to the Giants on Sunday. Inman has five targets in two of the last three games, but had just one catch last week and hasn't scored a touchdown since Week 3. Inman is yet to record more than 50 yards in a game this season making him a desperation play in only the deepest of fantasy leagues.
Washington Football Team wide receiver Dontrelle Inman (foot) returned to practice on a limited basis Thursday, which puts him on track to suit up Sunday against the Rams. Inman was tied for third on the team with five targets last week, but could only turn that into four catches for 29 yards. Inman should start opposite Terry McLaurin again as the WR2 for Washington, but fantasy managers should look elsewhere when setting lineups. Washington is turning to backup quarterbackKyle Allen this week, so it will be difficult to trust any pass-catchers besides McLaurin in a tough matchup with a Rams team that allows the sixth-fewest fantasy points to opposing wide receivers.
Washington Football Team wide receiver Dontrelle Inman caught four passes for 29 yards in a loss to the Ravens Sunday. Inman had five targets in the game in which Washington struggled to move the ball for the third week in a row. Inman is seeing a decent amount of targets as the number-two receiver on Washington, but the former Charger hasn't done much as he is averaging just five yards-per-target. Inman is not a starting option in another tough Week 5 matchup versus the Rams.
Dontrelle Inman Not A Fantasy Option Versus Ravens
Washington Football Team wide receiver Dontrelle Inman should serve as the team's No. 2 wide receiver versus the Ravens this Sunday, but he is not someone fantasy managers should prioritize. Inman has just seven catches through three weeks and would need to find the end zone to be fantasy relevant in this matchup. He should see a slight bump in targets with Steven Sims(toe) out for the game, but with those targets coming from quarterbackDwayne Haskins, Inman could be in for another quiet game. He is a target-based punt play in DFS contests this week and should not be started in seasonal leagues.
