Ja'Wuan James Tears Achilles

Baltimore Ravens offensive tackle Ja'Wuan James (Achilles) was carted off the field during the Week 1 matchup against the Jets. The team was already without Ronnie Stanley (ankle), who is still recovering from surgery. However, with James tearing his Achilles, the team suffered another tough blow to the unit responsible for protecting Lamar Jackson, a signal-caller who loves to make plays using his legs.

Ja'Wuan James Suffers Serious Ankle Injury

Baltimore Ravens tackle Ja'Wuan James suffered a serious ankle injury in Week 1 and is doubtful to return. This is brutal news for a Baltimore offensive line that was already without Ronnie Stanley (ankle). As a result, fantasy managers should expect a slight decrease in production from the Ravens' playmakers, including quarterback Lamar Jackson and running back Mike Davis.

Ja'Wuan James Could Return In December

Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said that right tackle Ja'Wuan James (Achilles) has a chance to return to the team in December. Harbaugh said that James hasn't had any setbacks in his recovery. James missed all of the 2020 season with the Denver Broncos and had surgery in the offseason after tearing his Achilles during a workout away from the team's facilities. "It's still the same time frame," Harbaugh said. "There's been no setbacks. He looks good. I see him walking around. He's in the meetings. He's got great spirits. He's been running straight ahead." James was placed on the Non-Football Injury list at the end of August.

Broncos Put Ja'Wuan James On NFI List

The Denver Broncos placed right tackle Ja'Wuan James (Achilles) on the Non-Football Injury list on Friday after he tore his Achilles while working away from the team's facilities on Tuesday. While it's not a guarantee, James is in danger of missing the entire 2021 season after opting out of last season due to COVID-19. He is set for surgery this and will have a more accurate timetable after the procedure. James is due $10 million in base salary this year, but with the injury occurring off site, the Broncos aren't contractually obligated to pay him. The 28-year-old signed a four-year, $51 million contract before the 2019 season, but he's playing in just three games for them so far. James spent the first five seasons of his NFL career with the Miami Dolphins after they took him 19th overall in the 2014 draft.

Ja'Wuan James Suffers Torn Achilles

Denver Broncos offensive tackle Ja'Wuan James (Achilles) suffered a torn Achilles while working out away from the team facilities on Tuesday, according to sources. His $10 million salary for the upcoming season is now in jeopardy with the Broncos no longer obligated to pay him because he wasn't working out at the team's facilities. However, doctors told James that they're hopeful that he won't miss the entire 2021 season. Surgery is scheduled for later this week, and the Broncos will know more about a recovery timetable then. James signed a four-year, $51 million deal in 2019 but has been limited to three games with the Broncos. He suffered a knee injury in 2019 and opted out of the 2020 season due to COVID-19. He's at risk of being put on the Non-Football Injury list and losing a portion or all of his $10 million base salary in 2021. Backup left tackle Calvin Anderson could be the first up to replace James on the right side this year.

Ja'Wuan James To Miss Several Weeks

Denver Broncos right tackle Ja'Wuan James (knee) will miss several weeks with a significant knee sprain, according to a league source. The Broncos are happy with the way that Elijah Wilkinson filled in on Monday night against the Raiders, but it's a notable loss for the Broncos offensive line. With an elite defense in the Bears coming to town in Week 2, it's hard to recommend Denver's offensive weapons after they looked bland in the Week 1 loss to the Raiders on Monday night.

Ja'Wuan James Expected To Sign With Broncos

The Denver Broncos are expected to sign free-agent right tackle Ja'Wuan James to the largest contract for a right tackle for four years and $51 million, according to agent Bill Johnson of SportsTrust. James will receive $32 million guaranteed. The Dolphins first-round pick in 2014 (19th overall) finished last year with a 70.8 grade as the No. 34 offensive tackle in football, per Pro Football Focus. The Broncos desperately need to improve their offensive line in front of young running backs Phillip Lindsay and Royce Freeman, and James accomplishes that.

Broncos Inquired About Ja'Wuan James

The Denver Broncos inquired about trading for Miami Dolphins right tackle Ja'Wuan James, but the Dolphins plan on keeping him, according to a source. There was belief that the Dolphins might be interested in swapping James to Denver for running back C.J. Anderson, but apparently that isn't the case. James was a potential salary cap cut, but after the team traded receiver Jarvis Landry and released defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh, James may stick around after all.

Ja'Wuan James Could Miss Remainder of 2017

Miami Dolphins offensive lineman Ja'Wuan James is out indefinitely with a groin injury. According to reports, the rest of his season could be in jeopardy. What was initially thought to be a minor injury has turned into something that could hurt the Dolphins' already struggling offense even more. The former first-round pick has been one of the most consistent forces on the O-line. Some hope may be sparked by the return of Ted Larsen, who has yet to play a snap this season after tearing his biceps in the preseason. Miami's troubles on the line make each running back a shaky play, regardless of opponent.
