A.J. Dillon Ahead Of Jamaal Williams As Aaron Jones' Backup

Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones undoubtedly will be the team's lead back again in 2020, but the draft capital used on rookie A.J. Dillon (second-round pick) suggests that he'll see more work as the No. 2 over Jamaal Williams. Williams saw 373 offensive snaps in 2019 as Jones' primary backup. The Packers are shifting to a more run-heavy approach, which is why they took Dillon in the second round and not a single wide receiver in last month's draft. Dillon is a threat to Jones reaching his fantasy ceiling of a year ago, but it shouldn't make him any less of an RB1 consideration in fantasy drafts this fall. Dillon is a prime handcuff for Jones owners and would be highly attractive if Jones were to go down with an injury.

Jamaal Williams Quiet In Loss To 49ers

Green Bay Packers running back Jamaal Williams picked up just six rushing yards on three carries and caught two passes for one receiving yard in a 37-20 loss to the San Francisco 49ers. Williams had a disappointing end to his season, as he failed to register at least 40 rushing yards in his last three games after eclipsing the mark in his previous three. The 24-year-old did show flashes at times of being the perfect complement to Aaron Jones. Still, it will be interesting to see if Green Bay hands the reins to Jones next year or continues to spell him with Williams. For now, consider Williams more of a handcuff option than a complement heading into 2020.

Jamaal Williams' Role Makes Him Hard To Trust

Green Bay Packers running back Jamaal Williams will face off with the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship game this weekend. Williams has been playing second fiddle to Aaron Jones quite a lot recently, as he hasn't seen double-digit carries since Week 13 against the Giants. It's worth noting that Williams played a large role in the regular-season game against the 49ers, which saw him rack up 18 touches. Green Bay very well could utilize Williams in spurts to keep San Francisco guessing, though his recent downtrend in usage makes him hard to trust.
