Jay Ajayi Not Fantasy Relevant

Philadelphia Eagles running back Jay Ajayi is not a fantasy relevant player heading into Week 16. Since signing with the Eagles back before Week 12, Ajayi has received just 10 touches. He went the whole win against Washington last week without recording a statistic. He's simply working as a depth piece and should only see the field in Week 16 in case of injury to one of the players ahead of him on the depth chart. He can safely be dropped in just about every fantasy format.

Jay Ajayi Does Almost Nothing in Week 14

Philadelphia Eagles running back Jay Ajayi did almost nothing in a Week 14 win over the New York Giants, running the ball just twice for a total of five yards. He saw one target in the passing game, but was unable to come down with a catchable ball. Ajayi has played a very small role on the Eagles offense since being signed, and it has become clear that he is nothing more than depth in the running back room at this point.

Jay Ajayi Not Expected to Contribute Much in Week 14

Philadelphia Eagles running back Jay Ajayi isn't expected to contribute much and likely won't have a fantasy-relevant role in Week 14. If Jordan Howard (shoulder) is forced to miss another game, rookie Miles Sanders will have a near every-down role in the Eagles backfield. Ajayi has totaled just eight touches since joining the team. Any tiny bit of fantasy value Ajayi may have will be washed away upon Howard's return.

Jay Ajayi Likely to Have Some Kind of Role in Week 12

Philadelphia Eagles running back Jay Ajayi is likely to have some kind of a role on offense in Week 12. Ajayi was active in Week 11 but never saw the field. He was in uniform despite having signed with the team just two days earlier. With a full week of practice now, Ajayi should see the field for Sunday's matchup against the Seattle Seahawks. How much he plays will depend on whether or not Jordan Howard (shoulder) is cleared to play. Still, Ajayi's role is far too murky to be worth a start in any format, but he should be scooped up from any waiver wires where he's available just in case.

Jay Ajayi Active but Doesn't Touch the Ball in Week 11

Philadelphia Eagles running back Jay Ajayi, just signed on Friday, was active for Week 11 but did not touch the ball. Rookie Miles Sanders and former special teamer Boston Scott worked out of the Eagles backfield with Jordan Howard (shoulder) inactive. Ajayi will eventually see his role grow, but he'll likely remain behind Sanders and Howard on the depth chart.

Miles Sanders Expected To Lead Backfield Over Jay Ajayi

Philadelphia Eagles rookie running back Miles Sanders is expected to get most of the work in the backfield in Week 11 against the Patriots over recently signed running back Jay Ajayi with Jordan Howard (shoulder) out. Sanders leads all rookie running backs in receiving yards, so he'll surely be in play as an RB3 in PPR setups this weekend against a Patriots team that has been exposed by running backs their last two games. Ajayi could see goal-line work behind Sanders, but Boston Scott could also be involved. Ajayi will be nothing more than a desperation RB3/flex in the deepest of leagues in his season debut.

Eagles Plan To Sign Jay Ajayi

The Philadelphia Eagles intend to sign free-agent running back Jay Ajayi after working him out on Friday, according to a source. Ajayi is healthy after tearing his ACL and will be returning to the team that traded for him in 2017. The Eagles want to add some depth behind Jordan Howard, who is dealing with a stinger, and rookie Miles Sanders after Darren Sproles was announced as out for the season on Friday. Ajayi has experience with Philly, but he's unlikely to come into any fantasy value unless either Howard or Sanders miss time with injury.

Jay Ajayi Expected To Be Ready For Season

Drew Rosenhaus, the agent for free-agent running back Jay Ajayi (knee), expects his client to be ready for the start of the season. Ajayi's visit with the Indianapolis Colts last week went well, but he's also still in discussions to return to the Philadelphia Eagles. Ajayi might not even be ready for all of training camp, so his health will determine whether a team takes a chance on him for 2019. The 25-year-old has game-breaking ability in the backfield, but he has never played in a full season and will probably be a fantasy afterthought in 2019, depending on where he lands.

Jay Ajayi Tears His ACL

Philadelphia Eagles running back Jay Ajayi (knee) tore his ACL in the Week 5 loss to the Vikings and has been put on Injured Reserve, ending his 2018 season, according to a source. It's a huge blow to an Eagles offense that continues to be decimated by injuries as they try to defend their Super Bowl title. Darren Sproles hasn't played since the season opener and Corey Clement has been out each of the last two weeks, so Wendell Smallwood might be the leading tailback on a short week against the Giants this Thursday. For those that own Ajayi, you can safely drop him and look for alternatives on the waiver wire. Smallwood should probably be your first target, with Clement right behind him. Expect the Eagles to lean more heavily on quarterback Carson Wentz and the passing game moving forward.

Jay Ajayi Struggles and Gets Hurt in Week 5

Philadelphia Eagles running back Jay Ajayi had a rough game on Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings, running the ball eight times for 29 yards. He also caught one pass for five yards, but hurt his knee and lost a critical goal-line fumble. Ajayi was out-gained by replacement level player Wendell Smallwood, 71-34. Ajayi hasn't seen the usage to be even close to the RB1 consideration. He's little more than a low-end RB2 unless something changes going forward.
