Miles Sanders News
The Carolina Panthers and head coach Frank Reich view running back Miles Sanders as a three-down back who can do it all. It's why the Panthers let D'Onta Foreman walk in free agency before signing Sanders to a four-year, $25.4 million deal last week. Carolina still has Chuba Hubbard in their backfield, but as of right now, it looks as though they plan to give Sanders as much work as he can handle. The 25-year-old was a disaster for fantasy managers in 2021, but he bounced back with his first 1,000-yard rushing season and 11 touchdowns on a career-high 259 carries in 17 regular season games (15 starts) for the Eagles last year, adding 20 receptions for 78 yards. Sanders' ultimate fantasy upside could hinge on how well Carolina's rookie quarterback fares, but it's a good sign that he'll be heavily involved on all three downs in his new home.
The Carolina Panthers have agreed on a contract with free-agent running back Miles Sanders. The 26-year-old has reportedly signed a four-year deal with the team. This is a good fit for Sanders after a breakout season with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2022. In 17 games, Sanders rushed for 1,269 yards with a career-high 11 touchdowns last season. He has been a consistent runner throughout his time with the Eagles. There won't be much competition for Sanders with D'Ontae Foreman being an unrestricted free agent. Chuba Hubbard figures to be the primary backup, but Sanders should get a bulk of the work in Carolina.
Philadelphia Eagles running back Miles Sanders took seven carries for 16 yards during the team's 38-35 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs during Super Bowl LVII. It was a terrible end to a career year for the 25-year-old, as he was given the same amount of carries as backup Kenneth Gainwell, who not only outproduced him but looked like the more explosive player over the final month of the regular season. With an extension for quarterback Jalen Hurts being the top priority for Philadelphia this offseason and Sanders set to be a free agent, it is tough to see the Penn State alum back in Eagles green next season unless he comes back on a team-friendly deal. Sanders was a solid RB2 for fantasy purposes this past season and one of the steals of the draft, but determining his true fantasy value for the 2023 regular season will have to wait until we find out where he will be playing.
