The New England Patriots are working out free-agent wide receiver Jeremy Kerley on Wednesday, according to a source. Even with Julian Edelman due back next week and after trading for Josh Gordon last week, the Patriots are in need of more receiver depth. Kerley was released by the Bills a few weeks ago and is well off the fantasy radar.
The Buffalo Bills released wide receiver Jeremy Kerley on Saturday and signed defensive tackle Robert Thomas from the practice squad in a corresponding move. Kerley caught two of four targets for only seven yards in the season opener. Buffalo's depth behind Kelvin Benjamin was already suspect, so the release of Kerley is a bit of a head scratcher. Benjamin is the only Bills receiver worth considering in fantasy, and even then he's not a strong starting option.
Buffalo Bills wide receiver Jeremy Kerley has solidified a role as the team's slot receiver in offensive coordinator Brian Daboll's system, according to ESPN.com's Mike Rodak. Rodak said, "it's the Patriots system, and we know that spot has put up numbers in the past (Wes Welker, Julian Edelman, etc.)." There is a lot of opportunity for targets in this offense behind Kelvin Benjamin, with rookie Antonio Callaway and second-year man Zay Jones as wild cards. This is an offense in flux, though, so Kerley may still be inconsistent with a starting role. He's worth a late-round flier in deeper leagues, though.
Buffalo Bills wide receiver Jeremy Kerley has seen his role expand throughout training camp. Though Kerley was designated as the team's slot receiver in the spring, he now finds himself in an expanded role and lining up opposite wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin in the first-team offense. With Benjamin being a virtual lock to be the number one wideout on the depth chart, the former New York Jet will continue to mainly battle wide receivers Andre Holmes and Malachi Dupre for looks and a consistent roster spot heading into the regular season.
Buffalo Bills wide receiver Jeremy Kerley has been lining up as the first-team slot receiver during organized team activities as the second wideout behind Kelvin Benjamin. His primary sources of competition will likely come from rookies Ray-Ray McCloud and Austin Proehl. Zay Jones remains out with injury, so Kerley could be a sleeper in deeper leagues if he sees heavy targets in this offense. There's no reason to believe the Bills would replace Kerley on the first-team offense before training camp. The 29-year-old did have a career-high 64 catches for 667 yards and three touchdowns with the Niners in 2016, but Buffalo's QB situation might be his biggest obstacle.
The Buffalo Bills signed free-agent wide receiver Jeremy Kerley to a one-year deal Monday. The 29-year-old caught 22 passes for just 217 yards and a touchdown in eight games with the Jets in 2017 and is pretty much just a depth addition for the Bills. He's expected to compete for the slot receiver role in Buffalo, but fantasy owners can likely take a wait-and-see approach with him in deeper leagues.
The New York Jets have waived wide receiver Jeremy Kerleyjust a few days after his four-game suspension for performance-enhancing drug violations came to an end. Kerley wasnt particularly good for Gang Green this year, only catching 22 passes across eight games for 217 yards and a touchdown, but its still a mildly surprising move for a team thats below average when it comes to offensive talent. Kerley will likely latch on somewhere. The seven-year veteran has a couple solid seasons under his belt and could eventually be an asset for any team needing speedy help out of the slot. In terms of fantasy value, he's really only worth considering as a hold in deep dynasty formats.
New York Jets wide receiver Jeremy Kerley has been placed on the teams roster exception list, days after he completed his four-game suspension for violation of the NFL's performance-enhancing drugs policy. Kerley can remain on the list until 4 PM on Monday. Unless youre in a deep dynasty league, this move has little to no fantasy relevance. Kerley hasnt been on the fantasy radar this season and likely wont be for what remains of it. In just about all leagues, he can be dropped safely. Depending on who the Jets quarterback is in 2018, though, theres potential for Kerley to gain some intrigue in PPR scoring formats next year.
New York Jets wide receiver Jeremy Kerley will be suspended four games without pay for violating the league's policy on performance-enhancing substances. Kerley was a non-factor in recent weeks for Gang Green, and this suspension kills what little fantasy value he had left for those in deeper leagues. His absence is good news for the workloads of receivers Robby Anderson and Jermaine Kearse and tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins.
New York Jets wide receiver Jeremy Kerley (foot) suffered a foot injury during the Thursday night game against the Bills and will go for more tests Friday. The Jets have also not heard back from the league regarding Kerley's pending suspension, according to head coach Todd Bowles. Kerley went down early in the first quarter and didn't have any targets in the game. He's almost surely to miss Week 10 either due to injury or suspension, and he's not on the fantasy radar, not having caught more than five passes in a single game this season.
