Buccaneers
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed first-round outside linebacker Joe Tryon to his four-year rookie contract on Tuesday. Tryon was taken 32nd overall in the first round of this year's NFL draft out of the University of Washington. He opted out of the 2020 season due to concerns around COVID-19, but he managed to record eight sacks in college in 2019. Depending on how ready Tryon is for the NFL after taking a year off, he's an exciting pass-rusher off the edge that could become an impact player right away for an improving Buccaneers defense. He has the size and strength to be a full-time pass-rusher, but he also has the technique to drop into coverage if asked to do so. If not for the fact that he didn't play at all in 2020, he might've been long gone at pick No. 32.

Joe Tryon Close To Getting On The Field
Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians said that first-round linebacker Joe Tryon (knee), who had minor knee surgery in May, remains out but is "real close" to getting back on the field. Tryon was taken with the 32nd overall pick in this year's draft. He opted out of the 2020 season but managed to record eight sacks in 2019. While he should be ready for training camp this summer, Tryon is more of a developmental edge rusher with upside. In a Buccaneers defense that showed in their Super Bowl win over the Kansas City Chiefs that they can get after the quarterback, Tryon could quickly make an impact along with the team's veteran pass-rushers due to his great frame and size at the position.

Joe Tryon Recovering From Surgery
Tampa Bay Buccaneers linebacker Joe Tryon (knee), who was the team's first-round selection in this year's draft, is not taking part in rookie minicamp this weekend and recently had a minor surgical procedure on his knee, according to head coach Bruce Arians. Tryon came off the board at No. 32 overall in the first round last month. He opted out of the 2020 season due to COVID-19 but managed eight sacks in 2019 in his final college season. He will need to be developed at the next level, but he's an exciting pass-rushing prospect off the edge that should fit nicely with a much-improved defensive unit in Tampa.

Buccaneers Conclude First Round With Joe Tryon
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers selected Washington edge rusher Joe Tryon with the No. 32 overall pick in the first round of the 2021 NFL draft on Thursday. Tryon is extremely versatile and gives the Bucs a hybrid body with a tough side. Tampa is likely hoping that he can take over on the defensive line once Jason Pierre-Paul is done. Tryon opted out of the 2020 season due to COVID-19, but his tape is pretty impressive. He has a great frame and size at the position and could become an immediate contributor for a much-improved Buccaneers defense as they look to defend their Super Bowl crown. There are plenty of questions with Tryon, especially since he took a year off, but he has more than enough talent to threaten NFL offensive tackles.
