Texans
The Houston Texans claimed veteran safety Kareem Jackson off waivers after he was released by the Denver Broncos. The 35-year-old has notably been fined and suspended multiple times this year for illegal hits and unnecessary roughness. However, his latest suspension was for four games, and he has already missed each of the last five games. Jackson was a first-round selection by the Texans in 2010, and he was teammates with head coach DeMeco Ryans for two seasons. With Houston's secondary struggling, he could contribute right away.

Kareem Jackson Waived By Broncos, Could Sign To Practice Squad
Denver Broncos safety Kareem Jackson was waived on Monday, but the team hopes to bring him back onto their practice squad if he clears waivers, according to Troy Renck of Denver7. The veteran has played in just one game since Week 7 due to two separate suspensions for unnecessary roughness violations. He was solid over the course of eight contests, amassing two interceptions and 51 tackles. It remains to be seen whether he'll generate any interest on waivers or through free agency.

Kareem Jackson Suspended Again
Denver Broncos defensive back Kareem Jackson was suspended without pay for four games by the NFL for repeated violations of playing rules intended to protect the health and safety of players, including a vicious hit on Minnesota Vikings quarterback Joshua Dobbs on Sunday night. Jackson served a two-game suspension in Weeks 8 and 9. The Broncos had a bye in Week 10, so Sunday's game was Jackson's first contest back. The hit in question wasn't flagged as a penalty during the game and led to one of Denver's three turnovers in the 21-20 win. Jackson is appealing his latest suspension, which means he could be active for Week 12 against the Cleveland Browns. Losing the 35-year-old for any amount of time again would be a blow to a Broncos defense that has been solid during their four-game winning streak.

Kareem Jackson Activated From Reserve/Suspended List On Tuesday
Denver Broncos safety Kareem Jackson was activated from the NFL's reserve/suspended list on Tuesday. Jackson finished serving a two-game suspension stemming from a series of unnecessary roughness penalties last month. The Broncos waived nose tackle Keondre Coburn in a corresponding move to make room for Jackson on the 53-man roster. Jackson has made seven starts for the Broncos in 2023, racking up 42 tackles and two interceptions. After a rough start to the year, the Denver defense has started to play better of late and they will welcome Jackson back to their secondary for a Week 11 matchup against the Minnesota Vikings.

Kareem Jackson Has Suspension Reduced To Two Games
Denver Broncos safety Kareem Jackson had his suspension reduced from four to two games on Tuesday. Jackson will be able to return to the Broncos on November 14, ahead of their Week 11 matchup against the Minnesota Vikings. The veteran safety was initially suspended for repeated violations of the league's unnecessary roughness rule. Jackson's reduced suspension will be a boost to what has been a struggling Denver secondary in 2023.

Kareem Jackson Suspended Four Games
The NFL has suspended Denver Broncos safety Kareem Jackson for four games for repeated violations of unnecessary roughness rules. Jackson is appealing the suspension, according to a source. He was ejected from the Week 7 win over the Green Bay Packers for a sideline hit on rookie tight end Luke Musgrave in the fourth quarter, which was the second time this year Jackson has been ejected from a game for an illegal hit. Entering Sunday's game, the 35-year-old had been fined four times in 2023 for unnecessary roughness for a total of $89,670. If his four-game suspension is upheld, Jackson wouldn't be eligible to return to the active roster until Nov. 27. It would be a pretty big blow to an already shaky defense in Denver.

Kareem Jackson Expected To Start
Denver Broncos safety Kareem Jackson is expected to take over as the starter heading into the Week 2 matchup against the Washington Commanders. Jackson was asked to step up after starting strong safety Caden Sterns (knee) was forced to exit during the Week 1 loss to the Raiders. It appears Sterns has potentially suffered a season-ending knee injury. That being said, Jackson is likely to take over as the starting safety going forward. The 14-year veteran has been a reliable option for the Broncos over the last four seasons.

Broncos Re-Sign Starting Safety Kareem Jackson
The Denver Broncos re-signed safety Kareem Jackson to a one-year deal on Monday. The 35-year-old has been their starting strong safety each year since 2019 and made over 80 combined tackles each season since 2020. Last season, he set a career-high with 39 assists and 94 combined tackles, as well as two fumble recoveries, two tackles for loss, and three pass defenses. Jackson has consistently been on the field for more than 95% of the Broncos' defensive snaps over his four years in Denver. He doesn't profile as a starting IDP player, except in the deepest of leagues, but his experience and production as a tackler does help maintain the strength of the Broncos defensive unit.

Broncos Re-Sign Kareem Jackson
The Denver Broncos re-signed veteran safety Kareem Jackson to an undisclosed one-year deal on Thursday. Jackson has started 44 games for the Broncos in the last three seasons and has compiled 177 solo tackles, six tackles for loss, one sack, four interceptions, 16 passes defensed, one forced fumble and two fumble recoveries (one for a touchdown) over that span. The 33-year-old was originally a first-round pick (20th overall) by the Houston Texans in 2010 out of Alabama. Jackson should remain a key starter in Denver's secondary this season. The Broncos D was the strength of their team in 2021 and should be an attractive fantasy unit despite the tough division they play in.

Broncos Defense Won't Have Kareem Jackson, Shelby Harris
The Denver Broncos defense won't have safety Kareem Jackson (neck, shoulder) and defensive end Shelby Harris (ankle) for Sunday's meeting with the Los Angeles Chargers. With how explosive the L.A. offense can be, fantasy managers should try to avoid playing the Broncos defense this week if possible, as there's a good chance the team gives up a lot of points. This also gives Chargers players like quarterback Justin Herbert and running back Austin Ekeler a higher ceiling.
