Indianapolis Colts veteran wide receiver Kasen Williams has an opportunity to climb the team's depth chart with the recent string of injuries to pass catchers, according to George Bremer of CNHI Sports Indiana. The former Seattle Seahawk saw work with the first-team offense after T.Y. Hilton and K.J. Brent both left practice on Saturday with injuries. Although Williams is big-bodied and has been touted for his exceptional releases, it's unlikely that he beats out Ryan Grant for the No. 2 wide receiver job barring injury. Williams can be safely ignored in fantasy leagues until he gets a bigger target share in the Colts offense.
The Indianapolis Colts signed free-agent wide receiver Kasen Williams and waived wide receiver DeAndre Smelter on Friday. As an undrafted free agent out of Washington, Williams has played in 10 career games and has totaled 10 receptions for 92 yards and one carry for five yards in his time with the Cleveland Browns and Seattle Seahawks. As a move to add depth at an ailing position, it is unlikely that Williams will be on the field much in 2018 unless he can somehow move past Ryan Grant and Chester Rogers on the depth chart.
Cleveland Browns wide receiver Kasen Williams told reporters on Thursday that he expects to see a larger role with the team going forward. Williams, signed by the Browns after the Seattle Seahawks let him go at the end of the preseason, played on just 12-of-66 snaps in Week 1 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. He failed to make a catch on two targets, although he just missed picking up a long gain when he couldn't keep his feet in bounds following a catch. Cleveland head coach Hue Jackson has put starting receiver Kenny Britt on notice after Britt has struggled with drops since the preseason. It's doubtful the Browns would bench Britt, but if they do, Williams could be his replacement opposite Corey Coleman. For now, Williams is just a deep dynasty stash.
The Cleveland Browns claimed former Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Kasen Williams on Sunday. The Seahawks cut Williams free on Saturday, despite a strong training camp which saw him catch nine balls for 208 yards and a touchdown. The Browns "overhauled" their receiving corps over the past day, trading for Sammie Coates and signing Williams. Those two will fight for targets behind starters Corey Coleman and Kenny Britt. Williams is worth stashing in deep dynasty leagues.
In a surprise move, wide receiver Kasen Williams was cut by the Seattle Seahawks on Saturday. With the recent trade of Jermaine Kearse and Williams' strong preseason performance, he was considered a near-lock to make the 53-man roster. Williams will surely be offered a spot on the practice squad, but the amount of attention he drew during the preseason probably indicates that he will get picked up by a different team instead.
The Seattle Seahawks may have a monster wide receiver waiting in the wings as wideout Kasen Williams made a highlight reel one-handed grab against Minnesota on Friday night. For the game, Williams had two catches for 28 yards against the Vikings' first-stringers, and for the preseason, Williams has snagged six passes on six targets for 147 yards and a touchdown.
The Seattle Seahawks have constantly looked for additional wide receiver help, and third-year player Kasen Williams is starting to make waves in training camp. Williams is a hometown hero who made a late-season appearance on the roster last year, and he's been impressing so far this year. Expected to make the roster out of camp last year, Williams was slowed by a hamstring injury. This season, he's an early favorite to break camp with a roster spot. With head coach Pete Carroll's mentality about everyone always competing, he could turn into a sleeper.
