Dolphins Release Keke Coutee

The Miami Dolphins released wide receiver Keke Coutee on Monday. Coutee started the offseason with the New Orleans Saints but latched on with the Dolphins earlier this month after he was released. He now finds himself back on the open market mere weeks before the start of the 2023 regular season. The 26-year-old former fourth-round pick of the Houston Texans in 2018 out of Texas Tech spent the last two years with the Indianapolis Colts, catching only two passes for 25 yards in 10 games (zero starts). In his three seasons in Houston, he caught 83 of his 117 targets for 941 yards and four touchdowns in 23 games (10 starts). Coutee is obviously way off the fantasy radar right now.

Keke Coutee Released By Saints

Veteran wide receiver Keke Coutee has been released by the New Orleans Saints. The former fourth-round pick started his career with the Houston Texans, where he has some success, but caught just two passes in two seasons with the Indianapolis Colts in 2021 and 2022. Now, the 26-year-old has a bleak future outlook for his career and is not likely to enter the fantasy football radar anytime soon.

Keke Coutee Elevated To Colts Active Roster

The Indianapolis Colts have elevated wide receiver Keke Coutee to their active roster ahead of a Week 2 matchup with the Jacksonville Jaguars. This move comes shortly after the announcement that Michael Pittman Jr. (quad) will miss Sunday's contest with a quad injury. Coutee had some success as a member of the Houston Texans from 2018-2020 and could see some opportunities this week in an unproven Colts wide receiver room that will also be without rookie Alec Pierce (concussion). Regardless, Coutee is not on the fantasy radar for this week nor going forward.

Keke Coutee Cut By Texans

Houston Texans wide receiver Keke Coutee was cut from the team on Tuesday. Coming off a strong finish to the 2020 season, Coutee was believed to be ready to step into a larger role in Houston's offense, particularly with Will Fuller out of the picture, though that won't be the case. The 24-year-old has had issues with fumbling, with four of them in 23 career games, though his potential ability was never in doubt, as he ranks seventh in yards per route run among receivers selected in the 2018 draft. Houston is likely to add to their receiving group but rookie Nico Collins looks poised to step into a fairly large role right away alongside Brandin Cooks, Anthony Miller, and Chris Conley. There should be little threat to Cooks' target share in this offense, so he looks like a nice value at his WR39 ADP in half-PPR formats, even without Deshaun Watson throwing him passes.

Randall Cobb, Keke Coutee Will Compete For Slot Snaps

The Houston Texans have a lot of new faces at wide receiver this season, but the battle for slot snaps is expected to be between two players who were on last year's team, with Randall Cobb and Keke Coutee competing for those minutes. Cobb was limited to 10 games last season because of injury, catching 38 passes for 441 yards and three touchdowns. Coutee, who'll be entering his last year under contract, has had an uneven Texans career, but being freed from head coach Bill O'Brien allowed him to get snaps at the end of the year, with Coutee finishing with 33 catches for 400 yards and three touchdowns. It's unclear who has the lead in this position battle at this point, but whoever wins out will have some sleeper appeal in full PPR leagues.

Keke Coutee Posts 90 Receiving Yards

Houston Texans wide receiver Keke Coutee finished the season strong as a fill-in starter for Will Fuller V (suspension). Including Sunday's 90-yard effort, Coutee exceeded 50 receiving yards in four of his last five games, with two touchdowns scored in that span. The 23-year-old struggled to hold onto the football at times, as he fumbled three times, two of which were lost. However, he proved that he could produce when being treated like a starter, which likely won't go unnoticed by the new future head coach and general manager. Fellow wideout Randall Cobb has two years remaining on his deal, so unless he's traded, Coutee is likely looking at a reserve role for 2021.

Keke Coutee Has Upside In Week 17

Houston Texans wide receiver Keke Coutee has unexpectedly become a key piece for this team over the past month and will look to end his season on a high note against the Titans on Sunday. Tennessee's defense struggles against the pass, so Coutee should have the opportunity to gain some yards in this one. He's had double-digit PPR points in four consecutive games, and while he probably won't explode for 141 yards again like he did against the Colts, getting something like five receptions for 50-ish yards is easily in reach. He's a solid WR3 play.

Keke Coutee Has Solid Game In Week 16 Loss

Houston Texans wide receiver Keke Coutee caught all five targets for 54 receiving yards in a 37-31 loss to the Bengals. Coutee has compiled at least 50 receiving yards in three of the last four games, with two touchdowns scored. Over that stretch, the 23-year-old has settled in as Deshaun Watson's second-favorite target, as he's clearly earned the trust of the star quarterback. Coutee will take on the Titans' 28th-ranked pass defense in next week's season finale.

Keke Coutee In The WR3 Range In Week 16

Houston Texans wide receiver Keke Coutee has been a solid starting option for fantasy purposes since being thrust into the lineup after Will Fuller V's suspension. Coutee has averaged 6.3 targets, 5.3 receptions, and 72.7 receiving yards per game in three contests. The 23-year-old has also found the end zone twice in that span, making him an appealing flex ahead of a matchup with a Bengals' defense that has allowed 11.5 yards per reception, tied for the sixth-highest mark in the league. Quarterback Deshaun Watson has a great chance of connecting with his receivers for big plays down the field this week, making Coutee a high-upside WR3 for Week 16.

Keke Coutee Posts 53 Receiving Yards And A Touchdown

Houston Texans wide receiver Keke Coutee had another solid game for his team in a tough loss to the Colts. Coutee hauled in five of seven targets for 53 receiving yards and a score, though he did fumble what would have been the game-tying touchdown at the end of the game. The 23-year-old scored on a play extended by quarterback Deshaun Watson, as the signal-caller found him in the back of the end zone. That's three consecutive games where Coutee has produced well for the Texans- he's exceeded 50 yards in two contests and scored two touchdowns in that span. He'll next take on a Bengals' defense that has allowed 15 touchdowns to wide receivers.
