Kelvin Benjamin Suspended Two Weeks

Former New York Giants wide receiver/tight end Kelvin Benjamin was suspended two weeks of the regular season on Wednesday. The reason to why the 30-year-old was suspended is unclear at this time. Benjamin will be out two weeks if he's able to latch onto another team. The Giants released him in training camp after Benjamin had a heated conversation with head coach Joe Judge and general manager David Gettleman before storming off the field during a practice. The former wide receiver attempted a comeback in the NFL as a tight end. Benjamin hauled in 25 catches on 62 targets for 380 yards and one touchdown for the Bills/Chiefs in 2018.

Kelvin Benjamin Will Be Released By The Giants

The New York Giants are expected to release tight end/wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin on Wednesday. According to Steve Politi of the Star-Ledger, Benjamin had a heated conversation with head coach Joe Judge and general manager David Gettleman before storming off the field. He reportedly will be released by the Giants today. The former wide receiver attempted a comeback in the NFL as a tight end and signed with the Giants during the offseason. Benjamin hauled in 25 catches on 62 targets for 380 yards and one touchdown for the Bills/Chiefs in 2018. The 30-year-old will look to latch onto another team and prove he has something left in the tank.

Kelvin Benjamin Signs With Giants

The New York Giants signed former first-round wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin following a tryout at rookie minicamp last weekend. Benjamin, who hasn't been on an NFL roster since the end of the 2018 season, will play tight end. The 6-foot-5, 245-pounder will be reunited with general manager Dave Gettleman, who drafted Benjamin with the Carolina Panthers in 2014. Benjamin caught 73 passes for 1,008 yards and nine touchdowns in his rookie season, but that has been the high point of his career after he tore his ACL the next season. While he has the necessary size at tight end, he'll join a crowded room in New York, headed by Evan Engram and former Pro Bowler Kyle Rudolph. The Giants also have Kaden Smith and Levine Toilolo as backups, so Benjamin will be a long shot at this new position. New York also signed running back Corey Clement on Sunday.

Kelvin Benjamin Trying Out As Tight End With Giants

Free-agent wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin, who hasn't played in the NFL since 2018, is trying out with the New York Giants during their rookie minicamp this weekend as a tight end. Benjamin was a first-round pick by the Carolina Panthers back in 2014, when current Giants general manager Dave Gettleman was in charge. His best season came as a rookie, when he put up a 1,000-yard season with nine touchdowns in Carolina. He gained weight and fell out of favor, leading to a trade to Buffalo, where he played 18 games with minimal results. Benjamin played in three regular season games with the Chiefs in 2018, but hasn't seen the field since. The Giants already have Evan Engram and Kyle Rudolph at the position, so it would be a long shot for Benjamin to resurface in the Big Apple as a tight end.

Kelvin Benjamin Hauls in One Reception

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin was basically non-existent in the 29-28 loss to the Chargers. Benjamin caught one of his two targets for 17 yards on Thursday. The Chiefs brought in Benjamin as depth after cutting Kareem Hunt and Sammy Watkins (foot) has been unable to play lately. It doesn't appear that Benjamin is going to have much of a role in Kansas City. He can be left on the waiver wire for Week 16.

Kelvin Benjamin Unlikely To Play Much Thursday

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin, who had his first practice with the team last Friday, is unlikely to play extended snaps if he makes his team debut on Thursday against the Chargers. However, they may need Benjamin active with Sammy Watkins (foot) not expected to be available until the playoffs and Tyreek Hill (heel, wrist) being dinged up in Week 14. Its just concepts and really learning the language of a new playbook, Benjamin told The Star on Tuesday. Its coming real good to me. I feel like Im grasping it real well. Benjamin was terrible in his time with Buffalo and lacked hustle and motivation, so hopefully he'll be more motivated to make an impact with his first team, who currently have the top seed in the AFC. Even if Benjamin plays this Thursday and in the final two games of the season, he's unlikely to make much of a fantasy impact unless either Hill or Chris Conley get hurt.

Kelvin Benjamin Not Expected To Debut In Week 14

Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid doesn't expect wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin to play in Week 14 against the Ravens after the team signed him Thursday night. There is a possibility that Benjamin will make his debut with the team on Thursday next week against the Chargers. Benjamin will effectively be replacing Sammy Watkins (foot) for the rest of the regular season, but Benjamin is unlikely to provide a ton of fantasy value in the final three games for fantasy owners. Chris Conley should be the No. 2 wideout behind Tyreek Hill, but he faces a difficult matchup in Baltimore's defense this Sunday.

Chiefs Sign Kelvin Benjamin

The Kansas City Chiefs signed free-agent wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin on Thursday, according to a source. Benjamin was a bust with the Bills in parts of two seasons with them. He recorded only 23 receptions on 62 targets for 354 yards (career-high 15.4 yards per catch) and one touchdown in 12 games before being released earlier this week. He showed little effort to work with rookie quarterback Josh Allen and often quit on routes. The 27-year-old has great physical traits, but it remains to be seen if he's willing to work to improve with his new team. Benjamin can help KC stretch the field and in the red zone with Sammy Watkins nursing an injury, but it's unlikely that he'll provide fantasy owners with much production of the final few weeks of the regular season.

Bills Release Kelvin Benjamin, Andre Holmes

The Buffalo Bills released wide receivers Kelvin Benjamin and Andre Holmes on Tuesday, according to sources. Benjamin just hasn't worked out for Buffalo and lacked effort for most of the season, catching only 23 passes on 62 targets for 354 yards and one touchdown this year. The former first-round pick of the Panthers has been a bust in the NFL. Holmes had just 12 catches for 157 yards and wasn't a fantasy factor. With both Benjamin and Holmes now out of the picture, Zay Jones, who caught two touchdowns in Week 13, is now the unquestioned No. 1 wideout for this team. Rookies Robert Foster and Ray-Ray McCloud and Deonte Thompson will fight for scraps behind him.

Kelvin Benjamin No Longer In The Bills Plans

Buffalo Bills wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin has gone from the team's No. 1 receiver to almost the forgotten guy. The 27-year-old has been on the field just 50 percent and 37 percent of the Bills' offensive snaps the past two games and has just one catch for two yards combined in those games. With the organization reportedly wanting to look at younger receivers Zay Jones, Robert Foster, Isaiah McKenzie and perhaps even sixth-round rookie Ray-Ray McCloud down the stretch, expect the fifth-year pro's playing time to continue to trend downward. Therefore, fantasy owners should probably say goodbye to Benjamin or at the very least bench him until further notice.
