Kenneth Murray Jr. News
The Tennessee Titans agreed to terms with free-agent linebacker Kenneth Murray on Monday on a two-year deal worth $15.5 million with a maximum value of $18 million, according to a source. The Los Angeles Chargers took Murray with the 23rd overall pick in the first round in 2020 out of Oklahoma. In his four seasons with the Bolts, the 25-year-old recorded 321 tackles (214 solo), five sacks, 21 tackles for loss, nine QB hits, two interceptions, 10 passes defensed and a forced fumble in 59 games (53 starts). Murray will help replace Azeez Al-Shaair, who was the Titans' leading tackler in 2023. He had a career-high-tying 107 tackles (79 solo), a career-high three sacks, seven tackles for loss, four QB hits and an interception in 15 starts in his final season in 2023 with the Bolts.

Kenneth Murray Returns To Practice
Los Angeles Chargers linebacker Kenneth Murray (ankle) returned to practice at training camp on Monday. Murray had offseason ankle surgery in April, but he's back at practice this summer and should be ready for Week 1 of the regular season against the division-rival Las Vegas Raiders, barring any setbacks. The 23-year-old played in just 11 games last year due to his injury, but he had 107 tackles (68 solo), one sack, five tackles for loss and three passes defensed in 16 starts in his rookie campaign in 2020. With better health this season, Murray should be on the radar in IDP fantasy formats for a strong Chargers defense/special teams unit.

Kenneth Murray Could Return During Training Camp
Los Angeles Chargers linebacker Kenneth Murray (ankle) remains on the Physically Unable to Perform list after having offseason ankle surgery, but there's a chance he'll return to practices before the end of training camp. "I'm hoping it's some point during camp. We're not close yet, but he is improving, and he's getting more and more confident. Our goal for him was just to be here at some point during camp, and I think that goal is achievable," head coach Brandon Staley said when asked how close Murray is to returning. The 23-year-old missed five weeks in 2021, and the Chargers aren't rushing him back. If he returns during training camp, he'll have a chance to be ready for Week 1 of the regular season. Murray had 107 tackles (68 solo) and a sack in 16 games in his rookie season in 2020 after he was a first-round pick.

Kenneth Murray Placed On Injured Reserve
The Los Angeles Chargers placed linebacker Kenneth Murray (ankle) on Injured Reserve on Monday with an ankle injury that he suffered in practice on Saturday. Murray was listed as questionable to face the Las Vegas Raiders on Monday night, but now he'll be forced to miss the next three weeks. The good news is that he's likely to return after that, according to a source. The 22-year-old had to be carted off the field on Saturday, so the Bolts are lucky that he's not out longer. Murray has recorded 19 tackles and a fumble recovery in the first three games of the 2021 season. In his absence, expect Drue Tranquill and Nick Niemann to see more playing time in the middle of the Chargers defense.

Kenneth Murray Questionable For Monday Night
Los Angeles Chargers linebacker Kenneth Murray (ankle) rolled his ankle in practice on Saturday and is now questionable to play on Monday night against the division-rival Las Vegas Raiders. Murray needed to be carted off the practice field, but it looks like the injury isn't quite as serious as it initially looked. The 22-year-old has recorded 19 tackles (11 solo) and a fumble recovery in the first three games, so the Chargers defense would be missing a key defender if he is ruled out in Week 4. Los Angeles' defense/special teams ranks 15th in overall fantasy points so far this year, but they'll be a shaky starting unit in fantasy leagues this week against a Raiders offense that has been playing lights-out early on.

Kenneth Murray Carted Off The Field During Practice
Los Angeles Chargers linebacker Kenneth Murray (leg) was taken from the practice field Saturday on a cart after appearing to sustain a lower left leg injury. Murray has started each of the team's first three games this season, combining to make 19 tackles, one of which has gone for a loss. Taken in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft, Murray has been an impact player for the Chargers defense since his arrival, with his potential loss at linebacker a blow to a unit that takes the field Monday against the Raiders. Check back in the coming days for an update on Murray, although Los Angeles' defense is likely on the outside looking in of viability in Week 4 irrespective of their linebacker's status.

Chargers Trade Up Late In First Round To Get Kenneth Murray
The Los Angeles Chargers traded with the New England Patriots and selected Oklahoma linebacker Kenneth Murray with the No. 23 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft on Thursday. It's the Chargers second first-rounder, as they took Oregon QB Justin Herbert sixth overall. The Bolts are getting a three-down linebacker who can cause chaos from sideline to sideline. He plays downhill with tremendous physicality and energy, and he's a player that most teams were infatuated with on and off the field in the pre-draft process. The middle of the defense was the Chargers weakness, so Murray should fit in right away to improve that weakness. LA's defense/special teams should be highly coveted by fantasy owners with Murray now in the fold. The Patriots received a second- and third-round pick from the Chargers with this swap.
