The New Orleans Saints waived wide receiver Kenny Stills and defensive tackle Malcolm Roach on Tuesday. In a corresponding move, they re-signed wide receiver Kevin White to their practice squad. Stills played just 16% of the offensive snaps in last Thursday's loss to the Dallas Cowboys and wasn't able to haul in any of his five targets. The 29-year-old managed only five catches on 22 targets for 64 yards and one touchdown as a depth option for an already thin Saints receiving corps in 10 games played. With Deonte Harris suspended for the next three games, Marquez Callaway, Tre'Quan Smith and Lil'Jordan Humphrey should work in three-receivers sets, with Ty Montgomery and White serving as additional receiving depth.
New Orleans Saints wide receiver Kenny Stills signed to the team's active roster on Saturday. The 29-year-old will offer depth and a strong veteran presence amidst a receiving core that lacks an alpha player. After catching one pass for 17 yards in Week 3, Stills was unable to haul in his lone target against the Giants last Sunday. You can comfortably leave him on waivers in all fantasy leagues.
New Orleans Saints wide receiver Kenny Stills failed to haul in a pass in Sunday's overtime loss to the Giants. It was a step back for Stills after he saw three targets a week ago. There's the potential for an underrated receiver to emerge in the Saints receiver room, and Stills is familiar with New Orleans' playbook, which could give him some sneaky value moving forward. A porous Washington secondary awaits in Week 5.
Kenny Stills Could Have Sneaky Upside Against Giants
New Orleans Saints wide receiver Kenny Stills could have flex appeal in deeper leagues in Week 4 against the Giants. Stills played the second-highest percentage of snaps among Saints' receivers, catching one of three targets for 17 yards after being added to the active roster before the game against the Patriots. The veteran wideout was targeted deep downfield by Jameis Winston, suggesting that the team could utilize him as a field-stretcher. Stills is already familiar with the Saints system- as he spent the first two years of his career in New Orleans. Fantasy managers looking for sneaky upside can turn Stills' way, as he could connect with Winston on a long touchdown in Week 4.
New Orleans Saints wide receiver Kenny Stills was added to the active roster and will suit up for the upcoming matchup against the Patriots. With Tre'Quan Smith (hamstring) and Michael Thomas (ankle) listed as occupants on the injured reserve list, Stills will add much-needed depth and stability to a team sorely lacking options outside of Alvin Kamara. While the 29-year-old isn't an everyday fantasy option, he does have some value in deeper formats. He also should be on the DFS radar as a potential sleeper option with upside for Week 3.
Free-agent wide receiver Kenny Stills is signing with the New Orleans Saints practice squad, according to Mike Garafolo of the NFL Network. Stills played 10 games for the Texans last year and was barely a factor, setting career-lows in receptions (11), yards (144) and touchdown receptions (one). Still, he's just 29 and has been a solid downfield threat at times during his NFL career, so let's not let last year's disaster in Houston change all of our opinions on what Stills can do. The Saints need receiver help, so Stills could wind up as a decent option for quarterback Jameis Winston, though he's unlikely to be a consistent fantasy option.
Saints Bring In Kenny Stills And Marqise Lee For Workouts
Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network has reported that the New Orleans Saints worked out a group of wide receivers on Monday that includes veterans Kenny Stills and Marqise Lee. The Saints blew out the Green Bay Packers in Week 1, but the club seems to be doing their due diligence with No. 1 wide receiver Michael Thomas (ankle) on the PUP list and No. 2 wide receiver Tre'Quan Smith (hamstring) on Injured Reserve. Stills started his career with the Saints in 2013 and played two years in Sean Payton's system. Most recently, Stills played in 10 games and caught 11 of his 19 targets for 144 yards for the Houston Texans. Lee spent five years with the Jacksonville Jaguars, but has suffered a string of bad injuries, that includes a torn ACL in 2018. Lee hasn't suited up in a NFL since 2019, but has bounced around training camps with the New England Patriots and San Francisco 49ers over the past two offseasons. Even if the Saints sign Lee and/or Stills, both can be avoided in all formats.
Buffalo Bills wide receiver Kenny Stills has been promoted from the practice squad to the active roster for the AFC Championship game against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday. The Bills signed Stills to their practice squad after he was cut by the Houston Texans late in November, and he was initially brought on for wide receiver depth when Cole Beasley injured his knee in Week 16. The 28-year-old has not played in a game since Week 11 with Houston, but he could have a small role if rookie Gabriel Davis (ankle), who is questionable for Sunday, is unable to play. Stills' elevation from the practice squad could be a sign that Buffalo doesn't expect Davis to play. Isaiah McKenzie could also have a slightly larger role behind Stefon Diggs, John Brown and Cole Beasley if Davis is inactive.
The Buffalo Bills are signing veteran wide receiver Kenny Stills to their practice squad on Monday. Stills was released by the Houston Texans in late November and had been a free agent since. The Bills are also signing receiver Tanner Gentry to the practice squad. Stills, 28, had 11 catches for 144 yards and a touchdown in 10 games with Houston before he was released. He should begin practicing with Buffalo this week as they prepare for their wild-card matchup with the Indianapolis Colts. Stills won't be guaranteed to be active in the playoffs, though, as Buffalo is loaded at the receiver position with Stefon Diggs, John Brown, Cole Beasley, rookie Gabriel Davis and Isaiah McKenzie.
Former Texans and Dolphins wide receiver Kenny Stills is visiting with the Buffalo Bills on Wednesday, according to a source. Stills needs to pass through the league's COVID-19 protocols, but there is optimism that a deal will get done. John Brown was removed from Injured Reserve last weekend but missed the Monday night win over the Patriots when he was put on the Reserve/COVID-19 list, and Cole Beasley (leg) suffered an injury late in the game, so Buffalo might need Stills for their Week 17 matchup against the Dolphins, and he would provide them with extra depth for their playoff run. The 28-year-old had 11 catches on 19 targets for 144 yards and a touchdown in 10 games with Houston before he was released. If both Brown and Beasley are unavailable this weekend, Stefon Diggs and rookie Gabriel Davis should be the team's top-two receivers.
