The New Orleans Saints waived wide receiver Kenny Stills and defensive tackle Malcolm Roach on Tuesday. In a corresponding move, they re-signed wide receiver Kevin White to their practice squad. Stills played just 16% of the offensive snaps in last Thursday's loss to the Dallas Cowboys and wasn't able to haul in any of his five targets. The 29-year-old managed only five catches on 22 targets for 64 yards and one touchdown as a depth option for an already thin Saints receiving corps in 10 games played. With Deonte Harris suspended for the next three games, Marquez Callaway, Tre'Quan Smith and Lil'Jordan Humphrey should work in three-receivers sets, with Ty Montgomery and White serving as additional receiving depth.
The New Orleans Saints waived wide receiver Kevin White on Tuesday. White was previously waived by the Saints on Nov. 20 but later re-signed. The 29-year-old former first-round pick by the Chicago Bears in 2015 has played for four different teams in 2021, but he's only seen the field with the Saints in five games, catching only one of his five targets for 38 yards on 42 total offensive snaps. In five seasons in the NFL, White has only played in 22 total games and has recorded 26 catches on 53 targets for 323 yards with no touchdowns. He'll look to latch on with his fifth organization of the year to close out the 2021 campaign.
The Saints have released wide receiver Kevin White, according to Katherine Terrell of The Athletic. The former first-round pick was just signed by the team on August 17th and now will be without a team once again. The Saints have depth issues when it comes to their receiving corps, but they seem content with the other WRs they have compared to White. The 28-year-old has struggled to make his mark in the NFL and last recorded a catch in the 2018 season with Chicago. Now, White will have to wait and see if there are any teams who need WR depth before he may get signed. The Saints will go forward with Tre'Quan Smith, Marquez Callaway, and Lil'Jordan Humphrey as their top three receivers to start the season.
The New Orleans Saints have signed wide receiver Kevin White, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. The 28-year-old receiver was a first-round pick by the Bears back in 2015 but has disappointed all throughout his NFL career. His best season thus far was back in 2016 where he only managed a measly 19 receptions for 187 yards on 35 targets in four games. He has yet to appear in more than nine games in a single season. The Saints are in dire need of WR help with Michael Thomas recovering from ankle surgery. White's role with the team is uncertain as of now, but he should be clustered in the team's collection of unproven wide receivers vying for targets and thus is not relevant for fantasy.
The San Francisco 49ers signed former Bears first-round wide receiver Kevin White on Thursday. The 49ers also signed receiver River Cracraft on Wednesday following his workout. The 28-year-old was a bust with Chicago, mainly due to injuries, and he was released by the Cardinals in the offseason. With Jalen Hurd (knee) out for the season for the second straight year, Deebo Samuel (foot) in question for Week 1 and rookie Brandon Aiyuk (hamstring) missing some practice time this week, the Niners are desperate for bodies at the position. White's signing is intriguing, but he still has plenty of work to do to put himself in consideration for a roster spot.
The San Francisco 49ers are having receiver workouts on Tuesday with free-agent wide receivers Kevin White, Johnny Holton, River Cracraft and Justin Hardy. The Niners are looking for even more depth after a season-ending injury to Jalen Hurd and a foot injury that could keep Deebo Samuel out to start the regular season. San Fran recently added wideouts Tavon Austin, Jaron Brown and J.J. Nelson to boost their depth at the position, and they could add more depth this week. White is probably the most notable of the players working out on Tuesday, as he was a former first-rounder of Chicago that has been a bust in the NFL to this point, mainly because of injuries.
Free-agent wide receiver Kevin White will work out for the Jets. White was cut by the Cardinals last year and didn't see any regular season game action. He was the seventh overall pick of the 2015 draft by the Bears, but he's been a first-round bust, mostly because of injuries. White has just 25 receptions for 285 yards and no touchdowns in the three seasons he played in with Chicago. In the 14 games he played over those three seasons, the 28-year-old started just five games. Gang Green could use some receiver depth in training camp, though, with both rookie Denzel Mims and Vyncint Smith injured. White would most likely just be a camp body at the receiver position.
The Arizona Cardinals released wide receiver Kevin White on Wednesday, according to a source. White was a former first-round pick with the Bears and had recovered from a hamstring injury that kept him out the last week. It remains to be seen if another team will take a chance on the oft-injured wideout. His release is good news for rookies Andy Isabella and Keesean Johnson behind Larry Fitzgerald and Christian Kirk on the depth chart.
Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Kevin White (hamstring) did not play in the team's preseason opener against the Los Angeles Chargers. However, head coach Kliff Kingsbury said on Friday that White might be able to return for the second preseason game on Thursday against the Oakland Raiders. White flamed out with the Chicago Bears after spending four injury-marred seasons in the Windy City, playing a total of 14 games out of a possible 64. He is getting a clean slate in Arizona, but it's more of the same on the injury front. He just cannot stay healthy, and isn't worth the bother to most fantasy owners.
Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Kevin White is looking to resurrect his career, but he has many hurdles on a roster stacked with veterans and promising rookies. White was a top-10 pick in 2015 with the Chicago Bears, but he never realized his potential since his first few years were marred by injuries. Larry Fitzgerald and Christian Kirk are believed to be the top two on the depth chart, with Hakeem Butler and Andy Isabella also likely to be part of the top four. White is battling Keesean Johnson, Damiere Byrd, Pharoh Cooper, Chad Williams and a host of others just for a roster spot, so his days of fantasy usefulness might be in the rear-view mirror.
