Logan Thomas News
Washington Commanders tight end Logan Thomas (knee) said he feels good with his recovery and is hoping to be back for Week 1, but he's taking things slowly and is going to "play it by ear." Thomas tore his ACL, MCL and meniscus last December and finished with just 18 catches for 196 yards and three touchdowns in six games in 2021. He had a career-high 72 receptions on 110 targets for 670 yards and six touchdowns in his first year in Washington in 2020, but he's played a full season in just two of his six years in the NFL and will be a low-end TE2 target with injury risk in fantasy drafts. If Thomas isn't ready to go to begin the regular season, John Bates will be Washington's top pass-catching tight end.
Washington Commanders tight end Logan Thomas (knee) is reportedly ahead of schedule in his recovery process. The 30-year-old tight end was limited to six games last season due to an ACL injury. The expectation is that Thomas will begin the season on the IR, but that remains to be seen. He finished with 72 receptions and 670 receiving yards during the 2020 season. The hope is that Thomas can get back to that level of play, but this was a significant surgery. That being said, Washington is going to be careful with Thomas.
Washington Football Team tight end Logan Thomas (knee) underwent further tests, which officially revealed a torn ACL as the team initially feared. He is expected to undergo surgery and return in time for the 2022 season. Last Wednesday, the 30-year-old was placed on injured reserve, ruling him out for the season. Thomas finishes the year with 18 catches for 196 yards and three touchdowns over six games. The Washington tight end will look to recover ahead of the 2022 season. Ricky Seals-Jones will be Washington's primary tight end while Thomas is sidelined. Seals-Jones caught one pass for eight yards on four targets in the Week 14 loss to the Dallas Cowboys. The 26-year-old can be used as a streamer in Week 15 against a Philadelphia Eagles defense that struggled against tight ends this season.
