Marquise Brown News

Marquise Brown Has Offseason Foot Surgery

Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Marquise Brown (foot) had offseason surgery to remove the screw from his foot, according to sources. Brown might be limited in the offseason program because of the surgery, but he's expected to be fine by training camp. Hollywood was bothered by his foot throughout his rookie season, which is why Baltimore kept his snaps limited on game day. The 22-year-old first-round pick showed flashes in his first year in the NFL, catching 46 passes for 584 yards and seven touchdowns. He's a boom-or-bust fantasy commodity as a deep threat, but his ceiling is still very high in this Ravens offense led by quarterback Lamar Jackson.

Marquise Brown Wasn't Healthy In Rookie Season

Baltimore Ravens team officials acknowledged that rookie wide receiver Marquise Brown (foot) wasn't fully healed from his foot surgery from a year ago in 2019. As a result, the Ravens expect Brown to be faster and more impactful in his second year in the NFL. Despite not being 100 percent, Hollywood Brown tied a team rookie record with seven touchdowns while also posting the fifth-fastest average maximum speed by an NFL receiver. Brown also was the first player in history with multiple 40-yard touchdowns in his first career game in Week 1. He finished with 46 grabs for 584 yards receiving. The Ravens held Brown back in practices in games, which lowered his fantasy ceiling. He'll be a boom-or-bust option for fantasy owners as a speedy deep threat, but if he's healthier in 2020, Brown could easily put up better numbers in Year 2.

Marquise Brown Hauls In Seven Catches In Loss On Saturday

Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Marquise Brown came to life during the loss to the Titans on Saturday, finishing with seven catches (11 targets) for 126 yards. Hollywood started off the year hot, catching four passes for 147 yards and two scores in Week 1 against the Dolphins. However, constant flirting with not playing due to injury on a week-to-week basis throughout the season, compiled with some subpar performances, Brown wasn't a consistently reliable fantasy option. Nonetheless, he should remain one of the team's top receiving options and should find himself drafted in virtually all fantasy leagues in 2020.
