Marquise Brown News

Marquise Brown Leads The Ravens In Targets

Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Marquise Brown led the team in passing targets in Week 2 with 13. Brown started the game and he may be emerging as the Ravens No. 1 receiving option. Unlike Week 1 where Brown played a mere 18% of the Ravens offensive snaps, he played on 65% this week. The rookie didn't score against the Cardinals, but he hauled in eight catches for 86 yards, and if he continues to increase his role in the Ravens offense, he will be a must-start WR2 in 12-team leagues. The Ravens play at the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 3, which has the makings of a shootout.

Marquise Brown May Be The New D-Jax

Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Marquise Brown is still experiencing some discomfort in his injured foot and only played on 14 snaps in Week 1. Out of those 14 snaps, Brown was targeted five times, catching four balls for 147 yards and two touchdowns. Although the speedster out of Oklahoma only played on 14.82% of the Ravens offensive snaps, he was targeted five times, which equals the total number of targets (five) for all other Ravens wide receivers combined. The bottom line is that at this point in time, Brown needs to catch a deep ball if he's going to come through for fantasy purposes, similar to Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson earlier in his career. Brown is a boom-or-bust WR4 for Week 2.

Mark Andrews, Marquise Brown Absent Friday

Baltimore Ravens tight end Mark Andrews (undisclosed) and rookie wide receiver Marquise Brown (foot) were both absent from practice on Friday. Brown also missed practice last Friday but was still able to make his NFL debut and posted big numbers against the Dolphins. Andrews played 42 percent of the snaps in Week 1 but still caught all eight of his targets for 108 yards and a touchdown. It's unclear if he's even injured or in danger of missing Week 2 in a great matchup with Arizona, so stay tuned for more on his status. If he plays, he'll be a low-end TE1 with upside. Brown is also set for a nice matchup against Arizona's Patrick Peterson-less secondary, but keep in mind that he played just 14 snaps in the season opener. Brown will be a boom/bust WR4. It's very possible he disappoints after Week 1's surprise showing.
