Browns
Cleveland Browns defensive lineman Maurice Hurst II (pectoral) was placed on Injured Reserve on Tuesday, ending his 2023 season. Hurst suffered a torn pectoral muscle during Week 14 against the Jacksonville Jaguars and will now look towards the 2024 season. Hurst played in 13 games this season, racking up 22 tackles, 1.5 sacks, one interception, three passes defensed, and one fumble recovery. Cleveland's defense has dealt with some key injuries in recent weeks, and Hurst will certainly be missed as the Browns look to get into the postseason over the final four regular season games.

Browns Sign Defensive Tackle Maurice Hurst
The Cleveland Browns signed free-agent defensive tackle Maurice Hurst to an undisclosed deal on Wednesday, according to a source. Hurst played in only two games in his lone season for the San Francisco 49ers in 2021 due to a torn biceps and didn't play at all in the NFL last year. The 27-year-old was originally a fifth-round selection by the Las Vegas Raiders back in 2018. In his four seasons in the NFL, Hurst has totaled just 78 tackles (53 solo), eight sacks, nine tackles for loss, 17 QB hits, one interception, seven passes defensed, a forced fumble and two fumble recoveries in 42 games (17 starts). He will be hoping to stay healthy in a depth role for the Browns in 2023.

Maurice Hurst Likely Done For The Season
San Francisco 49ers defensive tackle Maurice Hurst (biceps) tore his biceps muscle in Friday's training camp practice, according to head coach Kyle Shanahan. Hurst will likely miss all of the 2022 season as a result. It hasn't been a good start to training camp for the 49ers defense, as Dre Greenlaw (hamstring) and Arik Armstead (knee) have also been sidelined with injuries. Hurst played in just two games for San Francisco last year while dealing with ankle and calf injuries, and now he'll miss all of 2022 after signing a one-year deal. The 27-year-old was expected to compete for rotational snaps on the interior of the team's defensive line this year.

49ers Sign Maurice Hurst
The San Francisco signed free-agent defensive tackle Maurice Hurst to an undisclosed deal on Thursday. Hurst had eight sacks in his three seasons with the Las Vegas Raiders, but the former fifth-round draft pick in 2018 was waived last week. The 49ers had some depth issues on their defensive line last season, so Hurst will help bolster that depth in 2021. Hurst was a projected first-round pick out of Michigan until he was diagnosed with a heart condition that kept him from taking part in the NFL combine. He will be expected to provide depth on the defensive line alongside DJ Jones and Javon Kinlaw this season.

Raiders Defense Loses Maurice Hurst To COVID List
Las Vegas Raiders defensive tackle Maurice Hurst was placed on the COVID-19 reserve list Tuesday, a move that will undoubtedly draw interest to the organization in the coming days. Hurst played in a season-high 57 percent of the teams defensive snaps Sunday versus Buffalo, compiling two tackles. Having appeared in all four games this year, Hurst has 13 tackles, four quarterback hits and half a sack to his credit. While his loss will be primarily a depth problem for the Raiders defense, whether or not he is the only member of the Las Vegas roster to test positive for COVID-19 will likely determine the teams ability to play Sunday against the Chiefs. Check back for any updates on both Hurst and Vegas outlook.
