McClendon Curtis Competing For Starting Job At Right Guard

After not playing a single offensive snap as an undrafted rookie in 2023, Seattle Seahawks offensive lineman McClendon Curtis is now competing for a starting job at right guard as we head into training camp and the preseason. The Seahawks signed Curtis off the Las Vegas Raiders' practice squad for tackle depth in September after Charles Cross and Abraham Lucas suffered injuries in the season opener. Anthony Bradford missed much of the offseason program because of an ankle injury, allowing Curtis to work with the first-team offensive line at right guard ahead of rookie third-rounder Christian Haynes. Curtis has made a strong enough impression so far to think he'll be a legitimate contender this summer. The 24-year-old offensive lineman was originally an undrafted free agent out of Chattanooga.

McClendon Curtis A Candidate To Start Up Front For Seahawks

Seattle Seahawks offensive guard McClendon Curtis went unselected in the 2023 NFL Draft after a six-year career at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. He was picked up by the Las Vegas Raiders, but Seattle poached him from the practice squad at the start of the 2023 season. After not playing a single snap as a rookie, he is competing for the starting right guard spot heading into Year 2, according to ESPN's Brady Henderson. With Anthony Bradford missing most of the offseason due to injury, Curtis has been getting first-team reps ahead of rookie third-round pick Christian Haynes. Curtis was a three-time All-SoCon performer and a one-time first-team All-American at Chattanooga, and he played alongside New England Patriots 2021 first-round pick Cole Strange for the Mocs.
