Mitch Morse Inks Deal With Jaguars

Former Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs center Mitch Morse is signing a two-year $10.5 million deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars, according to NFL insider Mike Garafolo. The deal includes $7 million guaranteed. The 2022 Pro Bowl selection was released by the Bills last week after five seasons with the organization. He has 126 starts on his resume and will presumably take the job of Luke Fortner in 2024. Given Trevor Lawrence's long list of bumps and bruises during the 2023 season, the Jaguars are committed to upgrading his protection with this signing and the restructured contract of All-Pro guard Brandon Scherff.

Mitch Morse, Siran Neal Cut By Bills

The Buffalo Bills are releasing center Mitch Morse and cornerback Siran Neal ahead of free agency, according to Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team. The team also released safety Jordan Poyer and wide receiver Deonte Harty on Wednesday, so clearing cap space is evidently the goal. Morse signed with Buffalo on a four-year $44.5 million deal in 2019 after four seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs, and he earned a trip to the Pro Bowl in 2022. His current deal was not set to expire until after the 2024 season, but the Bills will save $8.5 million on the cap by releasing him. Neal, a former fifth-round pick, sees his contract terminated after six seasons with the organization, mostly as a depth and special teams player. Buffalo clears $2.88 million in cap space following his release.

Mitch Morse Taken For X-Rays Monday Night

Buffalo Bills center Mitch Morse (elbow) suffered a right elbow injury in the first quarter on Monday night in the Week 2 game against the Tennessee Titans and is questionable to return. Morse was taken into the locker room for X-rays. It remains to be seen if the 30-year-old will be able to return in this contest, but if he doesn't, it will be a downgrade for one of the most explosive offenses in the NFL. Stay tuned for more updates on Morse's X-ray results.

Bills Give Mitch Morse A Two-Year Deal

The Buffalo Bills are giving center Mitch Morse a two-year, $19.5 million contract extension on Monday with $12 million guaranteed, according to a source. Morse is now under contract through the 2024 season, and his pay for the 2022 season increases from $8.5 million to $11.25 million. The 29-year-old will continue to help protect quarterback Josh Allen for at least the next three seasons. The Bills have already cut offensive lineman Jon Feliciano and Daryl Williams, so expect the Bills to continue to focus on adding to the O-line in free agency and the draft. Morse spent the first four seasons of his NFL career with the Kansas City Chiefs after they selected him in the second round in 2015.

Mitch Morse, Matt Milano Out Against Seahawks

Buffalo Bills center Mitch Morse (concussion) and linebacker Matt Milano (pectoral) will both be out for Week 9 against the Seahawks, according to head coach Sean McDermott. Running back Taiwan Jones (hamstring) and cornerback Josh Norman (hamstring) were also ruled out. Morse has done some light aerobic exercise this week, but he hasn't progressed enough in the league's concussion protocol. Milano missed two games after suffering a pectoral injury in Week 4 and returned in a limited capacity in Weeks 7 and 8. McDermott said the team could activate 2016 first-rounder Darron Lee to the active roster with Milano out. Offensive lineman Jon Feliciano took over for Morse at center last week and could do so again this Sunday.

Bills Sign Mitch Morse To Four-Year Deal

The Buffalo Bills signed free-agent center Mitch Morse to a four-year deal worth $44.5 million. The deal includes $26.5 million guaranteed and he'll receive $19.5 million in 2019 and $28.375 million by Year 2. Morse's $11.125 million average per year is the new bar for centers. The addition of Morse is mainly good news for quarterback Josh Allen, who will be entering his second season in the NFL.
