Ravens Defense Still Valued High Without Paul Worrilow
Baltimore Ravens linebacker Paul Worrilow retired from the NFL one day after signing with the team. Worrilow finished with 415 tackles, 11 pass deflections and four sacks in his seven-year career. He leaves a defense that has been a top fantasy option for the last five years and is currently on a 16-game preseason win streak. Baltimore's defense had some turnover in the offseason, losing Terrell Suggs and C.J. Mosley, but they signed Earl Thomas. According to Pro Football Focus, Thomas is the league's top safety going into the 2019 season. In 2018, the Ravens allowed the NFL's fewest yards (292.9) and the second-fewest points (17.9). Expect to see Baltimore go quickly among defenses in drafts, as they are currently worth your starting spot every week.
Updating a previous report, Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Paul Worrilow (knee) has been diagnosed with a torn ACL. He'll miss the entire 2018 season. Worrilow had just signed a one-year contract to join the Super Bowl champions in April, but a non-contact injury on Tuesday landed him in an air cast and had him carted off the field. Tests later confirmed the common fear, a torn ACL. With Mychal Kendricks being released on Tuesday as well, the Eagles will likely be on the lookout for linebacker help.
Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Paul Worrilow was placed in an air cast and carted off the field during Tuesday's practice. While the team has yet to release information about the injury, the presence of an air cast and a cart certainly lend themselves to the belief that Worrilow suffered a serious injury. He'd just signed a one-year deal with the team in April. More information should come from the Eagles soon.
The Philadelphia Eagles signed linebacker Paul Worrilow to a one-year deal. Worrilow spent last season with the Detroit Lions after spending most of his career in Atlanta. He recorded 30 tackles while playing 274 snaps in 2017 and will serve as a rotational linebacker for the Eagles in 2018.
