Peyton Hendershot Undergoes Offseason Surgery

Dallas Cowboys tight end Peyton Hendershot (ankle) had surgery shortly after the season ended but should be good to go for the team's offseason program this spring. Hendershot only managed to play in eight games in his second NFL season due to injuries, ultimately finishing with just four receptions on seven targets for 38 yards and no touchdowns. It's good news that the 24-year-old's surgery won't really have a negative impact on his offseason training, but he also won't be fantasy relevant in drafts this fall. Hendershot should head to training camp this summer and the preseason as Dallas' No. 3 option at the tight end position behind Pro Bowler Jake Ferguson and Luke Schoonmaker.

Peyton Hendershot Practices Fully Tuesday

Dallas Cowboys tight end Peyton Hendershot (ankle) practiced fully on Tuesday ahead of his team's Thursday game against the Seattle Seahawks. Hendershot was designated to return from injured reserve a few weeks back and looks likely to make his return to the field after having not played since Week 3. Hendershot's return to action will likely cut into rookie Luke Schoonmaker's opportunities slightly.

Peyton Hendershot Hopes To Return In Week 12

Dallas Cowboys tight end Peyton Hendershot (ankle) is hoping to be activated from Injured Reserve in order to play in the Thanksgiving game on Thursday against the Washington Commanders in Week 12, but the Cowboys might wait another week before bringing him back. For what it's worth, Hendershot was listed as a full participant on Monday's estimated injury report. Dallas opened the 24-year-old's 21-day practice window to officially return from IR last week. In three games before he landed on IR, Hendershot had only one catch on two targets for three yards. He'll bring more depth at tight end behind Jake Ferguson and Luke Schoonmaker when he's activated, but he's off the fantasy radar.

Peyton Hendershot Expected To Return In Week 11

Dallas Cowboys tight end Peyton Hendershot (ankle) practiced in full this week and does not carry an injury designation into Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers. While this would imply he's going to play, it should be noted that Dallas still needs to activate him from injured reserve before he's eligible to suit up. The Cowboys have until 4 p.m. ET on Saturday to make such a move. If active, Hendershot would operate behind Jake Ferguson and potentially Luke Schoonmaker, too.

Peyton Hendershot Lands On Injured Reserve

The Dallas Cowboys placed tight end Peyton Hendershot (ankle) on Injured Reserve on Thursday. In corresponding moves, the Cowboys signed tight end Sean McKeon from the practice squad to the active roster, signed linebacker Rashaan Evans to the practice squad and designated cornerback Nahshon Wright (ankle) to return from Injured Reserve. Hendershot has missed each of the last two games and will now be forced to miss at least four more games due to his ankle injury. The 24-year-old will be eligible to return on Nov. 19 against the Carolina Panthers. Jake Ferguson is Dallas' clear-cut No. 1 pass-catching tight end, with rookie Luke Schoonmaker and McKeon now backing him up.

Peyton Hendershot Ruled Out For Sunday Night Game

Dallas Cowboys tight end Peyton Hendershot (ankle) did not practice all week and has been ruled out for the Sunday night showdown against the San Francisco 49ers. Hendershot will miss his second straight game with an ankle injury. In the first three games of the year, he caught just one pass on two targets for a three-yard gain, so he's miles from the fantasy radar. In the 24-year-old's absence, rookie Luke Schoonmaker should once again have an elevated role behind starter Jake Ferguson, who has become a legitimate TE1 for fantasy lineups in this Dallas offense. Schoonmaker has just one catch for one yard on five targets in his first four NFL games, and he was unable to haul in any of his three targets in the Week 4 blowout win over the New England Patriots.

Peyton Hendershot Not Very Involved Against Seattle

Dallas Cowboys tight end Peyton Hendershot wasn't very involved in the team's second preseason contest against the Seattle Seahawks on Saturday night. In the 22-14 loss, Henderson caught one of his two targets for just seven yards. Hendershot caught 11 of his 16 targets for 103 yards and two touchdowns in 17 games (two starts) in his rookie season last year. Undrafted rookie John Stephens (knee) suffered a season-ending torn ACL in the same game, so Hendershot looks to be third on Dallas' tight end depth chart entering the regular season behind Jake Ferguson and rookie Luke Schoonmaker. Hendershot is well off the fantasy radar in 2023 in a depth role for the Cowboys for the second straight year.

Peyton Hendershot Rushes For Touchdown In Week 12

Dallas Cowboys tight end Peyton Hendershot delivered a two-yard touchdown rush on his lone touch during Thursday's win over the New York Giants. The 23-year-old has been used sporadically throughout the season, racking up 83 receiving yards, two rushing yards, and two touchdowns over the course of 11 games. He still remains a depth option behind Dalton Schultz and Jake Ferguson and should be left on waivers in all leagues.

Peyton Hendershot Scores His First NFL Touchdown In Week 7

Dallas Cowboys rookie tight end Peyton Hendershot scored his first NFL touchdown in a Week 7 win over the Detroit Lions. Hendershot played clearly behind starter Dalton Schultz, but was in the right place at the right time for Dak Prescott's only touchdown pass of the day. In total, Hendershot was targeted two times, catching both for a total of five yards. He's shown the ability to play well when given chances, but he won't have any fantasy relevance unless Schultz is forced to miss more time.

Peyton Hendershot Catches Three Passes In Week 3

Dallas Cowboys rookie tight end Peyton Hendershot caught the first three passes of his career in a Week 3 win over the New York Giants. Forced into a split starting role alongside fellow rookie Jake Ferguson due to a Dalton Schultz (knee) injury, made the best of his chance, catching all three balls that went his way and gaining 43 yards. He soundly outplayed Ferguson, who caught two passes for 13 yards. With Schultz not expected to miss much time, Hendershot can be left on waiver wires in most fantasy formats.
