Quandre Diggs News
Seattle Seahawks impending free-agent safety Quandre Diggs (ankle) is expected to be fully cleared from his ankle injury for all football activities in June, according to sources. Diggs suffered a broken ankle in Week 17 of last year, but his doctors said he's recovering well. It's great news for Diggs as he hits the open market next month, and barring any setbacks, he should be fully ready for training camp over the summer. The Seahawks have prioritized re-signing the 29-year-old after he has posted 158 total tackles, 17 passes defensed and 10 interceptions in 38 games the last two years after being acquired from the Detroit Lions. In addition to his ankle injury, Diggs also broke his fibula in 2021.
The Seattle Seahawks have opened negotiations with Pro Bowl safety Quandre Diggs with hopes of re-signing him this offseason, according to sources. Diggs is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent on March 16, but the Seahawks are hoping to sign him to a multi-year deal. Seattle would also like to bring back cornerbacks D.J. Reed and Sidney Jones, if possible. The franchise tag could be a possibility for Diggs as well if the Seahawks need to buy more time to work on an extension. Diggs made his second straight Pro Bowl in 2021 after recording a career-high 94 tackles (66 solo), five interceptions and seven passes defensed in 17 games. Even after suffering a fractured fibula in the season finale that required surgery, the 29-year-old could demand as much as $11-12 million per year on his next deal.
Seattle Seahawks Pro Bowl safety Quandre Diggs (ankle, leg) underwent successful surgery on Tuesday from noted expert Dr. Robert Anderson to fix his broken fibula and dislocated ankle, according to a source. There were no complications, and Diggs is looking at a four- to five-month recovery timeline. The 28-year-old suffered the serious injury in the Week 18 regular season finale against the Arizona Cardinals last Sunday, and his rehab will be closely monitored as he heads into free agency in March. Diggs, who made the Pro Bowl for the second consecutive year, finished 2021 with a career-high 94 tackles (66 solo), five interceptions and seven passes defensed in 17 games played. He has 10 interceptions in the last two seasons combined.
