Quandre Diggs News
The Seattle Seahawks restructured safety Quandre Diggs' contract on Tuesday in order to free up some salary cap space for 2023. Seattle converted Diggs' base salary of $13.5 million into a bonus before the upcoming season. The former sixth-round pick in 2015 out of Texas by the Detroit Lions has made the Pro Bowl in each of the last three years with the Seahawks and hasn't missed any regular-season contests. In 2022, he finished with 71 tackles (50 solo), four interceptions, seven passes defensed and a forced fumble in 17 starts. Although the 30-year-old has 14 interceptions in the last three seasons, he hasn't been much of a contributor in IDP fantasy leagues at the defensive back position.
Seattle Seahawks impending free-agent safety Quandre Diggs (ankle) is expected to be fully cleared from his ankle injury for all football activities in June, according to sources. Diggs suffered a broken ankle in Week 17 of last year, but his doctors said he's recovering well. It's great news for Diggs as he hits the open market next month, and barring any setbacks, he should be fully ready for training camp over the summer. The Seahawks have prioritized re-signing the 29-year-old after he has posted 158 total tackles, 17 passes defensed and 10 interceptions in 38 games the last two years after being acquired from the Detroit Lions. In addition to his ankle injury, Diggs also broke his fibula in 2021.
The Seattle Seahawks have opened negotiations with Pro Bowl safety Quandre Diggs with hopes of re-signing him this offseason, according to sources. Diggs is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent on March 16, but the Seahawks are hoping to sign him to a multi-year deal. Seattle would also like to bring back cornerbacks D.J. Reed and Sidney Jones, if possible. The franchise tag could be a possibility for Diggs as well if the Seahawks need to buy more time to work on an extension. Diggs made his second straight Pro Bowl in 2021 after recording a career-high 94 tackles (66 solo), five interceptions and seven passes defensed in 17 games. Even after suffering a fractured fibula in the season finale that required surgery, the 29-year-old could demand as much as $11-12 million per year on his next deal.
