Seahawks Restructure Quandre Diggs' Contract

The Seattle Seahawks restructured safety Quandre Diggs' contract on Tuesday in order to free up some salary cap space for 2023. Seattle converted Diggs' base salary of $13.5 million into a bonus before the upcoming season. The former sixth-round pick in 2015 out of Texas by the Detroit Lions has made the Pro Bowl in each of the last three years with the Seahawks and hasn't missed any regular-season contests. In 2022, he finished with 71 tackles (50 solo), four interceptions, seven passes defensed and a forced fumble in 17 starts. Although the 30-year-old has 14 interceptions in the last three seasons, he hasn't been much of a contributor in IDP fantasy leagues at the defensive back position.

Quandre Diggs Expected To Be Cleared In June

Seattle Seahawks impending free-agent safety Quandre Diggs (ankle) is expected to be fully cleared from his ankle injury for all football activities in June, according to sources. Diggs suffered a broken ankle in Week 17 of last year, but his doctors said he's recovering well. It's great news for Diggs as he hits the open market next month, and barring any setbacks, he should be fully ready for training camp over the summer. The Seahawks have prioritized re-signing the 29-year-old after he has posted 158 total tackles, 17 passes defensed and 10 interceptions in 38 games the last two years after being acquired from the Detroit Lions. In addition to his ankle injury, Diggs also broke his fibula in 2021.

Seahawks Hoping To Re-Sign Quandre Diggs

The Seattle Seahawks have opened negotiations with Pro Bowl safety Quandre Diggs with hopes of re-signing him this offseason, according to sources. Diggs is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent on March 16, but the Seahawks are hoping to sign him to a multi-year deal. Seattle would also like to bring back cornerbacks D.J. Reed and Sidney Jones, if possible. The franchise tag could be a possibility for Diggs as well if the Seahawks need to buy more time to work on an extension. Diggs made his second straight Pro Bowl in 2021 after recording a career-high 94 tackles (66 solo), five interceptions and seven passes defensed in 17 games. Even after suffering a fractured fibula in the season finale that required surgery, the 29-year-old could demand as much as $11-12 million per year on his next deal.

Quandre Diggs Undergoes Successful Surgery

Seattle Seahawks Pro Bowl safety Quandre Diggs (ankle, leg) underwent successful surgery on Tuesday from noted expert Dr. Robert Anderson to fix his broken fibula and dislocated ankle, according to a source. There were no complications, and Diggs is looking at a four- to five-month recovery timeline. The 28-year-old suffered the serious injury in the Week 18 regular season finale against the Arizona Cardinals last Sunday, and his rehab will be closely monitored as he heads into free agency in March. Diggs, who made the Pro Bowl for the second consecutive year, finished 2021 with a career-high 94 tackles (66 solo), five interceptions and seven passes defensed in 17 games played. He has 10 interceptions in the last two seasons combined.

Quandre Diggs Leads Seahawks Defense Into Lambeau

Seattle Seahawks safety Quandre Diggs is back on the field, and his presence makes a huge difference for a Seahawks Defense that is about to be tested in the harshest conditions. Seattle will stroll into Lambeau and face off against a future Hall of Famer in sub-freezing temperatures, and their defense will have to be ready for a difficult matchup. Diggs is one of the critical pieces on the back end, but he'll also need the defensive line to put up another strong performance like they did last week. Seattle will need everything to go right to pull out a win, but for fantasy purposes, they're a risky pick when facing the likes of Aaron Rodgers.

Quandre Diggs Picks Off Two Passes

Seattle Seahawks free safety Quandre Diggs continued to turn fans into believers by snagging a pair of interceptions, including a pick-six, in Seattle's loss to the Rams. Both of Diggs' interceptions came on back-to-back possessions, and he now has three interceptions, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery in just four games. The Seahawks Defense certainly wasn't at its best on Sunday night, but with the offense doing it zero favors, it put up a pretty strong performance. Also of note, one-handed feel-good story Shaquem Griffin continues to be a revelation since he moved into a more pass-rushing role. He's given a huge boost to Seattle's pass rush as of late.

Quandre Diggs Suffers Fractured Hand

Detroit Lions starting safety Quandre Diggs (hand) suffered a fractured bone in his hand in the Week 4 loss to the Lions, according to a source. It's unclear how long Diggs will be out. Diggs had 16 tackles and an interception returned for a touchdown in four games so far this year. Tavon Wilson will likely be the next man up to replace Diggs in the team's secondary.
