Robby Anderson News
The New England Patriots have inquired about Carolina Panthers wide receiver Robby Anderson. According to Joe, Person of The Athletic, the conversation was exploratory and nothing imminent at this point. In his second season in Carolina, Anderson was below-average, managing just 53 catches on 110 targets for 519 yards and five scores over 17 games. Despite a lackluster campaign, the 28-year-old is a deep threat and would instantly upgrade a Patriots wide receiver corps including Kendrick Bourne, Nelson Agholor, and Jakobi Meyers. New England did try to convince Anderson to sign with the Patriots in 2020 before he ultimately agreed to a deal with the Panthers. A change of scenery would help Anderson, but the former New York Jet is merely a low-upside WR4/5 in fantasy, even with trade to New England.
Carolina Panthers wide receiver Robby Anderson (quadriceps), who was questionable to play in the Week 18 regular season finale, is active on Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Anderson will be active, but in a meaningless game for the Panthers, he might not play his usual number of offensive snaps. The 28-year-old has only 46 catches for 469 yards and four touchdowns on 101 targets in 16 games this season as the No. 2 wideout behind D.J. Moore. Anderson hasn't really been able to tap into his chemistry with quarterback Sam Darnold from their time with the Jets, and Darnold has been below-average when healthy in his first year in Carolina. Anderson is merely a low-upside WR4/5 in fantasy to close out the season.
Carolina Panthers wide receiver Robby Anderson (quadriceps) is questionable for the Week 18 regular season finale against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and head coach Matt Rhule said that Anderson will be a game-time decision. The fact that Anderson didn't practice all week puts him on the wrong side of questionable to close out the season. Even if Anderson were able to play, though, he'd be a pretty poor choice for a flex spot in fantasy lineups, as he's averaging just 2.9 receptions and 29.3 receiving yards while scoring four touchdowns in 16 games. Rookies Terrace Marshall Jr. and Shi Smith won't play this weekend, so the Panthers could be down to Brandon Zylstra and Alex Erickson behind No. 1 wideout D.J. Moore on Sunday if Anderson is inactive.

The new Carolina Connection between Robby Anderson and Sam Darnold is a familiar one. The QB-WR combo played together with the Jets from 2018-2019, connecting on 102 receptions for 1,531 yards across two seasons. Although they had their moments,...
