Ryan Jensen Placed On IR, Out For Season

Tampa Bay Buccaneers center Ryan Jensen (knee) has been placed on injured reserve and will not play in the 2023 season, per Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team. Jensen, 32, is a former Pro Bowler whose absence will be felt as Baker Mayfield embarks on his first season with the Bucs. Consider this bad news for all Tampa Bay skill players, especially Mayfield and running back Rachaad White.

Ryan Jensen Impresses At Minicamp

Tampa Bay Buccaneers center Ryan Jensen (knee), who missed all of last year with a serious knee injury, looked impressive while running and doing work on the blocking sleds during the team's recent mandatory minicamp practices. Jensen tore three ligaments in his knee, but he was able to avoid surgery and eventually was active in the team's wild-card playoff loss to the Dallas Cowboys in January. The 32-year-old didn't actually take part in any drills in organized team activities or minicamp, though, and it remains to be seen if the Bucs will allow him to do any work once training camp kicks off at the end of July.

Ryan Jensen Not Participating In OTAs

Tampa Bay Buccaneers center Ryan Jensen (knee) is in attendance on Tuesday at organized team activities, but he's not participating while wearing a brace on his left knee. Jensen missed all of the 2022 regular season but returned from his left-knee injury in the playoffs in January and isn't going to be rushed back onto the football field this early in the offseason. It's unclear if the 32-year-old had a setback after playing in the wild-card game against the Dallas Cowboys, but we'll know more about his condition heading into mandatory minicamp at the end of June. If Jensen isn't ready for the start of training camp at the end of July, he could be in danger of missing the start of the 2023 regular season.

Buccaneers Activate Ryan Jensen From Injured Reserve

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers officially activated Pro Bowl center Ryan Jensen (knee) from Injured Reserve on Monday, and he will be eligible to play in the wild-card game against the Dallas Cowboys on Monday night. To make room on the 53-man roster, the team waived inside linebacker J.J. Russell. Jensen was designated to return from Injured Reserve back on Dec. 28. He suffered a knee injury on the second day of training camp and hasn't played in a game since Jan. 23 of last year when Tampa was knocked out of the playoffs in the Divisional Round. Before his injury, he played in and started all 71 games, including the playoffs, since joining the team in 2018. Tampa will also be getting right tackle Tristan Wirfs (ankle) back on Monday, which is good news for a Bucs offense that has really struggled at times this year.

Ryan Jensen Designated To Return From Injured Reserve

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers officially designated center Ryan Jensen (knee) to return from Injured Reserve on Wednesday, opening his 21-day practice window. His return won't be immediate, but it's a good sign for Tampa's offensive line nonetheless. Jensen suffered a serious knee injury in training camp during the summer and hasn't played at all in 2022. But if the Bucs lock down the pitiful NFC South division title and make the playoffs, they could get the 31-year-old back. It's unlikely that he'll be officially activated from Injured Reserve to play this weekend against the Carolina Panthers, but Jensen could return for the final regular season game in Week 18 to face the Atlanta Falcons.

Buccaneers Place Ryan Jensen On Injured Reserve

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have placed center Ryan Jensen (knee) on Injured Reserve, guaranteeing he'll miss at least the first four games. The team decided to put him on IR instead of the Physically Unable to Perform list in case the 31-year-old is able to return to action later in the season. This is a big blow considering their offensive line has already suffered multiple injuries leading into the season. The expectation is that third-round pick Robert Hainsey will fill in as his replacement. These injuries will directly impact quarterback Tom Brady and lead back Leonard Fournette, who could struggle to find the same level of success they have previously. The number of injuries to their offensive line warrant fading these two players a few spots in your draft and instead considering other similarly talented options.

Ryan Jensen Could Miss A Couple Of Months

Tampa Bay Buccaneers center Ryan Jensen (knee) is expected to be out for months after suffering a knee injury early on in training camp. However, the team is waiting on the results of the Pro-Bowler's MRI before they will say how long he is expected to be out. Head coach Todd Bowles said "I do know he will miss some significant time, up to a couple of months," and added that "he won't be available anytime soon." Robert Hainsey will be the next man up in Jensen's absence, but it wouldn't be a surprise to see the Bucs pursue another one of the league's top centers, JC Tretter, who remains a free agent.

Ryan Jensen Feared To Have Suffered Season-Ending Injury

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are awaiting final word, but the fear is that Pro Bowl center Ryan Jensen (knee) suffered a season-ending knee injury when he was carted off the field at practice on Thursday, according to sources. If it's indeed the case, the team's internal option is Robert Hainsey. Externally, they could pursue JC Tretter, Matt Paradis or Billy Price. The 31-year-old Jensen hasn't missed a game since he joined the Bucs before the 2018 season, and he earned his first Pro Bowl nod last year. Jensen's injury is a huge early blow for the Buccaneers offensive line and offense as a whole.

Ryan Jensen May Have Suffered "Serious" Knee Injury

Tampa Bay Buccaneers center Ryan Jensen (knee) was carted off the field during training camp on Thursday. To make matters even worse, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported there is now fear the Pro Bowler may have suffered a "serious" knee injury. The 31-year-old will undergo more testing over the next few days to determine the severity of the ailment. However, if Jensen misses time, it won't be good news for the 44-year-old Tom Brady, who will need all the support he can get to remain upright in 2022-23.

Ryan Jensen Carted Off At Training Camp

Tampa Bay Buccaneers center Ryan Jensen (knee) was carted off the practice field at training camp on Thursday with a knee injury, according to head coach Todd Bowles. Jensen threw his helmet in anger, which is usually a sign of a serious injury. Teammates were also huddled around him before he was carted to the locker room. The 31-year-old signed a three-year, $39 million deal with the team in March after earning the first Pro Bowl nod of his career in his fourth season with the team in 2021. Jensen is a key piece of Tampa's offensive line, so a season-ending knee injury would be an early blow to the Buccaneers offense. Stay tuned for more details on the severity of his injury.
