Tampa Bay Buccaneers safety Ryan Neal (hip, back) exited during the first half of Week 14 versus the Atlanta Falcons. He is officially questionable to return. The 27-year-old registered four tackles before his departure, bringing his season total to 70. Dee Delaney should earn more snaps for the duration of Neal's absence.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers safety Ryan Neal lead both teams in tackles in the Bucs' 18-24 loss to the Buffalo Bills on Thursday Night Football. Neal made ten solo tackles and three assists. His figures for solo tackles and combined tackles both seat season-highs. It was his second straight game with double-digit combine tackles. Neal, as usual, did not make any impact plays or plays on the football, but in tackle-heaving formats, he scored about 23 fantasy points.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers safety Ryan Neal (head) is being evaluated for a concussion in the Week 4 game against the New Orleans Saints, so he'll be questionable to return on Sunday. The Buccaneers secondary is already thin with defensive back Jamel Dean (neck, shoulder) and cornerback Derrek Pitts (hamstring) being ruled out coming into the game. Dee Delaney has replaced Neal and could play meaningful snaps the rest of the way against New Orleans if Neal is unable to clear the concussion protocol. If Neal indeed has a concussion, he'll have extra time to rest up with the Bucs on bye in Week 5. They don't play again until Oct. 15 against the visiting Detroit Lions.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed former Seattle Seahawks safety Ryan Neal to an undisclosed one-year deal on Tuesday. The Seahawks rescinded their $2.627 million one-year tender to Neal as a restricted free agent after they signed former New York Giants safety Julian Love in free agency. Neal has played in 43 games (19 starts) since the 2020 season for Seattle. The 27-year-old racked up 111 solo tackles, two sacks, 10 tackles for loss, four QB hits, three interceptions, 16 passes defensed and a forced fumble in his four seasons with the Seahawks. He could have a chance to compete for a starting role in Tampa, but he can be ignored in IDP fantasy leagues.
The Seattle Seahawks have withdrawn the restricted free agent tender from safety Ryan Neal. The 27-year-old is now a free agent after being tendered by the team in mid-March. It's uncertain why the team decided to move on from Neal. Last season, he recorded 66 tackles, eight passes defended, and one interception in 14 games (10 starts) with Seattle. Neal has played well in each of the last three seasons. He should have a handful of suitors in free agency.
