Giants Ink Ryan Santoso; Will Likely Kick Sunday

The New York Giants are bringing aboard kicker Ryan Santoso ahead of Sunday's preseason finale against the Jets with Graham Gano (concussion) sidelined. The 6-foot-5 Santoso inks the deal on his 27th birthday, reuniting him with the franchise after having been originally signed to the practice squad in 2020. Santoso has appeared in seven games over the past three years with Tennessee, Carolina and Detroit, primarily as a kickoff specialist. He has gone 4-for-5 on field goal attempts in that time, but he has yet to knock through a kick longer than 35 yards. The Giants have more than two weeks for Gano to clear concussion protocol and take the field against the Titans; the veteran is currently on the fence of fantasy viability, rostered in nearly half of all leagues, per ESPN.

Jaguars Cut Ryan Santoso

The Jacksonville Jaguars waived kicker Ryan Santoso on Tuesday. After also waiving Elliott Fry with an undisclosed injury, the Jaguars now have no kickers on their current roster. Santoso was in line to be the starting kicker to open the regular season, but that won't be the case now. Expect Jacksonville to bring in a couple kickers very soon, but they won't be on the fantasy football radar at all. Santoso went 4-for-5 on his field-goal tries in 2021 in four games last year with the Detroit Lions and Carolina Panthers, but he also missed two of his eight extra-point opportunities.

Titans Waive Ryan Santoso

The Tennessee Titans waived kicker Ryan Santoso from their practice squad on Monday. Santoso landed in Tennessee after being waived by the Carolina Panthers after he missed an extra point in the Week 1 win over the New York Jets. The 26-year-old has just two field-goal attempts in the NFL, but he's made both of them. Apparently the Titans are happy (for now) with Randy Bullock, who made four of his five field goals and all three of his extra points in the 33-30 Week 2 overtime win over the Seattle Seahawks. The Titans have the ability to rack up points with all the weapons in their offense, which will make Bullock a streaming option in the right matchups, but he'll have to continue making kicks to avoid being cut himself.

Ryan Santoso Joins Titans Practice Squad

The Tennessee Titans have signed kicker Ryan Santoso to their practice squad. They also brought in kicker Riley Patterson for a visit this week after cutting kicker Michael Badgley after the Week 1 loss to the Arizona Cardinals. Randy Bullock, who was previously on the practice squad, was promoted to the active roster and is in line to serve as the team's kicker in a Week 2 matchup against the Seattle Seahawks. Santoso began the 2021 season as the Carolina Panthers kicker, but he was cut after he missed one of his two extra points in the Week 1 win over the New York Jets. If Bullock falters this Sunday, Santoso may be the next man up for Tennessee at the kicking position. Fantasy managers should steer clear of this revolving door of kickers.

Panthers Cut Kicker Ryan Santoso

The Carolina Panthers cut kicker Ryan Santoso on Tuesday, according to a source. As a result, they'll keep the seventh-round pick that they had traded conditionally to the New York Giants for Santoso. The 26-year-old made both of his field-goal attempts under 30 yards in the Week 1 win over the New York Jets, but he also missed one of his two extra points in the contest. If Carolina doesn't pick up another kicker from outside the organization, Dominik Eberle would likely be the starting kicker heading into a Week 2 matchup against the New Orleans Saints at home. Until further notice, fantasy managers should steer clear of the kicking situation in Carolina.

Ryan Santoso Wins Kicking Job

Carolina Panthers kicker Ryan Santoso has won the team's starting kicker job, per David Newton of ESPN. Santoso came to the Panthers via trade as an attempt to add competition to the kicking battle with incumbent Joey Slye- though the former emerged as the team's starter after the third and final preseason contest Friday. The 6-foot, 5-inch, 260-pound placekicker immediately impressed, nailing all five kicks he attempted, including a 52-yarder. Santoso could be a sneaky kicking option for a Panthers offense that could quietly be among the better units in the league in 2021.

Ryan Santoso Traded To The Panthers

The New York Giants traded kicker Ryan Santoso to the Carolina Panthers in exchange for a conditional seventh-round pick. The 26-year-old will compete with Joey Slye for the Panthers starting kicker job. Santoso has had a strong training camp, but the Giants have Graham Gano locked in as the team's starting kicker. He hit both extra-point attempts this preseason and appeared in three NFL regular-season games in his career. Santoso could be an option in deep-league formats if he can beat out Slye for the Panthers starting kicker role.
