Free agent pass rusher Shaq Lawson has signed with the Carolina Panthers. The veteran visited the team on Tuesday and left with a new contract. It's Lawson's first time out of the AFC East. He began his career with Buffalo in 2016, played one season each in New York and Miami, and spent the last two seasons in Buffalo again. The Panthers are desperate for defensive playmakers. Due to injuries and bad play, Carolina is one of the worst defenses in football. They have recorded six sacks in five games in 2024. Lawson logged one sack in 16 games last season.
Buffalo Bills defensive end Shaq Lawson has decided to re-sign with the organization. Lawson was originally a first round pick of the Bills back in 2016. He spent four years with the team before jumping around to the Miami Dolphins and New York Jets. After that, Lawson came back to Buffalo last season. He recorded 31 tackles and 3.5 sacks in 15 games. The 28-year-old is more of a rotational player at this point in his career. Although, he can still make an impact, so it's a good one-year deal for them.
The New York Jets are attempting to boot their defense after the loss of pass rusher Carl Lawson (Achilles) earlier in camp. On Sunday, the Jets acquired linebacker Shaq Lawson from the Houston Texans in exchange for a sixth-round pick. I mean, it's something, but it's not going to fix the Jets defense. Lawson has tallied 18.5 sacks over the last four seasons, so he does offer some upside. Despite his addition, the Jets should be a one of the worst defenses in the league. Fantasy managers should stay far away from them, but maybe they can be a streaming option against another terrible team, but no promises.
The Miami Dolphins are expected to sign former Buffalo Bills first-round pass-rusher Shaq Lawson, according to sources. Lawson had a career-high 6.5 sacks in his final season in Buffalo and will help as the Dolphins attempt to get after the quarterback in 2020. Miami was last in the NFL in total sacks last year and will need more than just Lawson if they are able to improve their pass rush moving forward. They're hoping Lawson can thrive with a change of scenery. He won't be worth drafting in IDP leagues, but he's one to watch in his new home.
The Miami Dolphins have strong interest in free-agent defensive end Shaq Lawson on the first day of free agency, according to a source. Miami really could use help all over the field, but pass rush is a primary concern after they finished last in the NFL in sacks in 2019. Lawson has just 16.5 quarterback takedowns in his four seasons in the league, but he did post a career-high 6.5 sacks in 15 games for the Bills last year. He'd definitely be worth a low-price flier for a rebuilding Dolphins team.
Buffalo Bills defensive end Shaq Lawson will miss his second straight week due to a lingering hamstring injury. Just as last week, Lawson did not practice at all this week, so it is not surprising that he is unavailable against the Vikings in Week 3. The 2016 first-round pick, who showed tremendous improvement in his sophomore campaign, registered one tackle and was credited with one pass defensed before suffering the injury in the season opener. Veteran Trent Murphy will likely start in place of Lawson once again. Reserves Eddie Yarbrough and Nate Orchard could also see significant action at both end positions.
Buffalo Bills defensive end Shaq Lawson has been ruled out for Sunday afternoon's contest versus the Chargers. Quarterback Philip Rivers and the Chargers offense played well in their 38-28 defeat to theĀ Chiefs in Week 1, amassing 541 total yards of offense, with 418 of them by way of the pass. The Bills will be in a tough spot in this one for sure as they want to move on from the terrible drubbing they took from the Ravens in Week 1. This does not appear to be a good matchup at this point for the Bills defense. This game will be a good test, but they aren't worthy of using in fantasy.
Buffalo Bills defensive end Shaq Lawson (groin) is out for Sunday's matchup against the Atlanta Falcons. The pass-rushing specialist suffered the injury in practice during the week and it is apparently serious enough to force him to sit out. Lawson has two sacks on the year and will definitely be missed this week, especially by the fantasy owners who have the Buffalo defense on their rosters.
