The Miami Dolphins have claimed wide receiver Tanner McEvoy off waivers. McEvoy was released by the Seahawks last week Wednesday and was first signed by the Saints three days later, but the Saints then cut him on Saturday. He latched onto the Dolphins and will probably begin the season on the practice squad. At 6'6" the former Wisconsin Badger has the size to be a red zone threat if he ever gets the opportunity to play regularly.
The New Orleans Saints are signing free-agent wide receiver Tanner McEvoy on Wednesday after he was released by the Seahawks, according to a source. McEvoy is no lock to make the roster with the Saints already having a crowded receiver room. The 6-foot-6, 230-pounder does have special teams abilities, though, so that might be his ticket to making the team. He has 14 catches for 253 yards and two touchdowns in two years with the Seahawks.
