Trace McSorley News
The Arizona Cardinals signed quarterback Trace McSorley off the Baltimore Ravens practice squad and to their active roster on Monday, according to a source. Kyler Murray (ankle) has missed the last three games with a sprained ankle, but he's expected to be good to go coming out of the team's bye in Week 12. McSorley will serve as Arizona's No. 3 behind Murray and Colt McCoy, who has helped the Cardinals go 2-1 with Murray sidelined. The 26-year-old was a sixth-round pick by the Ravens out of Penn State in 2019, and he has only attempted 10 passes in his two-plus seasons in the NFL, all coming in two games last season for Baltimore.
The Baltimore Ravens placed quarterback Trace McSorley (knee) on Injured Reserve on Tuesday with a knee sprain that he suffered late in the Monday night win over the Browns. In a corresponding move, the team activated wide receiver Dez Bryant from the Reserve/COVID-19 list. With Robert Griffin III (hamstring) also on IR, the Ravens will elevate Tyler Huntley from the practice squad to serve as Lamar Jackson's backup moving forward. Bryant has missed the team's last two games after testing positive for COVID-19. The 32-year-old veteran has played in just three games this year with Baltimore and has four catches for 28 yards. He'll continue to provide depth behind Marquise Brown, Miles Boykin and Willie Snead IV and can continue to be left to the waiver wire in the vast majority of leagues.
Baltimore Ravens quarterback Trace McSorley (knee) will undergo an MRI exam on Tuesday, but it's believed that he suffered a sprained knee late in the Monday night win over the Browns. He'll be week-to-week. McSorley was injured with two minutes remaining in the game. He was replacing Lamar Jackson, who headed to the locker room after experiencing cramping. If McSorley cannot play in Week 15 against the Jaguars, practice-squad quarterback Tyler Huntley is expected to serve as Jackson's backup. Huntley went undrafted out of Utah. He's been active for just one game and has yet to play a snap in the NFL. McSorley was serving as Jackson's direct backup because Robert Griffin III (hamstring) injured his hamstring on Dec. 3 and was put on Injured Reserve.
