Greg Dortch Headed For Expanded Role

Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Greg Dortch is expected to have an expanded role in 2024, according to Bob McManaman of the Arizona Republic. Dortch has been a steady, reliable contributor to Arizona's wide receiver corps over his two seasons with the team. Now, even though Marvin Harrison Jr. will be the focal point of the offense, Dortch is expected to get plenty of looks. He'll operate ahead of Zay Jones and Chris Moore, instead mixing in with the likes of Harrison, Michael Wilson, and Trey McBride. The now-26-year-old had 23 catches for 278 yards over his final seven games last season, and he figures to rank as a high-end WR5 heading into fantasy football drafts this year.

Greg Dortch Staying Put In Arizona

Exclusive-rights free-agent wide receiver Greg Dortch signed his one-year tender to stay with the Arizona Cardinals, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. The move will keep Dortch in Arizona for at least one more season, and he could have the chance to contribute after the departure of DeAndre Hopkins and Marquise Brown over the last two offseasons. The 25-year-old was undrafted out of the class of 2019 and has been with five teams so far in his young NFL career. His only game action has come with the Cardinals since 2021, and he's totaled 79 receptions for 762 yards and four touchdowns in 39 games. The Cardinals are likely to draft Marvin Harrison Jr., Malik Nabers, or Rome Odunze in the upcoming NFL Draft, but for now, Michael Wilson and Chris Moore are the top wideouts on the roster alongside Dortch. He won't have high-end fantasy value, but he could be a deep-league depth option depending on how Arizona's 53-man roster shakes out.

Greg Dortch Tendered By Cardinals

The Arizona Cardinals tendered exclusive rights free-agent wide receiver Greg Dortch on Thursday. Dortch has flown under the radar in recent seasons but has produced quality numbers for the Cardinals when pushed into the starting lineup due to injuries in front of him. The 25-year-old has a chance at beating out Rondale Moore to be Arizona's starting slot receiver in the 2024 season as the Cardinals look to retool their pass-catching corps. Dortch caught 24 balls for 280 yards and two touchdowns last season and could be a deep sleeper in fantasy if he's able to unseat Moore in the upcoming year.

Greg Dortch An Intriguing DFS Play In Week 18

Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Greg Dortch has hauled in nine of his 12 targets for 74 yards and a touchdown over his last two games. With Marquise Brown (heel) on Injured Reserve, Dortch remains a consideration in deep fantasy leagues or DFS tournaments. The 25-year-old has been a factor in Arizona's offense since the return of Kyler Murray, and Michael Wilson and Rondale Moore have failed to establish themselves as legitimate target-earners out wide. The Seattle Seahawks have allowed the 12th-most fantasy points per game to wide receivers this year, so Dortch has a path to upside with heavy target volume and an end zone snag.

Greg Dortch With Solid Week 17 Showing

Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Greg Dortch delivered a solid fantasy performance in the Cardinals' Week 17 win over the Eagles, catching all seven of his targets for 82 yards. Leading the team in receptions and yards, Dortch proved to be a reliable target for quarterback Kyler Murray. With teammate Marquise Brown sidelined due to a heel injury, Dortch stepped into a more prominent role, showcasing his ability to contribute significantly to the passing attack. His seven receptions and 82 yards were not only team highs but also outshone receivers from both squads. As Arizona heads into Week 18 without Brown, Dortch is poised to maintain a key role in the passing game, making him a WR4 in those leagues with a Week 18 championship on the line.

Greg Dortch Makes His Presence Felt In Week 16 Defeat

In the Cardinals' 27-16 loss to the Bears, Greg Dortch showcased his playmaking abilities, securing 2-of-5 targets for 45 yards and a touchdown. The highlight was a quick pass that turned into a dazzling 38-yard score in the fourth quarter, displaying Dortch's agility and elusiveness. Despite the loss, Dortch's performance solidifies his presence in the WR4 conversation. Looking ahead to Week 17 against Philadelphia, Dortch's ability to make explosive plays positions him as a potential fantasy option, especially if he continues to capitalize on opportunities and remains involved in the Cardinals' passing attack. Fantasy managers should monitor his potential impact in what could be a favorable matchup, especially if teammate Marquise Brown (heel) remains sidelined.

Greg Dortch Questionable To Play In Week 16

Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Greg Dortch (shoulder) is officially questionable to play against the Chicago Bears in Week 16. Although he missed back-to-back practices earlier this week, it appears he at least has a chance to suit up on Sunday. Having Dortch available would be key for the Cardinals, who have already ruled out Marquise Brown (heel). If active, Dortch would be joined by Rondale Moore and Michael Wilson as Arizona's top healthy wide receivers. Breakout tight end Trey McBride will also have a huge role versus Chicago.

Marquise Brown, Greg Dortch Miss Another Practice

Arizona Cardinals wide receivers Marquise Brown (heel) and Greg Dortch (shoulder) were not seen in the portion of practice open to the media on Thursday for the second straight day this week. Brown has exited the team's last two games due to a heel injury and hasn't caught a pass since Week 12. The 26-year-old will have to practice on Friday to avoid missing Sunday's game against the Chicago Bears. Fantasy managers in their semifinal matchups in Week 16 shouldn't be planning on relying on Brown. Dortch is also in jeopardy of sitting out this weekend, although he hasn't been on the fantasy radar at all to begin with in 2023. If both Brown and Dortch are sidelined in Chicago, Rondale Moore, rookie Michael Wilson and Zach Pascal would work in three-receiver sets, while tight end Trey McBride would be in for as many targets as he can handle.

Greg Dortch Misses Practice Wednesday

Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Greg Dortch (shoulder) was unable to practice with the team on Wednesday due to a shoulder injury. Dortch could be in danger of missing his second game of the year after apparently picking up a shoulder injury in the Week 15 loss to the San Francisco 49ers. Even if Dortch were to return to practice this week and play in Week 16 in a bad matchup against the Bears in Chicago, he wouldn't be a recommended flex play for fantasy managers. The 25-year-old didn't make his first catch until Week 9 and has 13 receptions (25 targets) for 139 yards and one touchdown on the year as a whole in 13 contests. With both Dortch and Marquise Brown (heel) up in the air for this weekend, Zach Pascal could join Rondale Moore and rookie Michael Wilson in three-receiver sets versus the Bears.

Greg Dortch A Week 15 Gamble

Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Greg Dortch and the rest of the Arizona offense will take on the San Francisco 49ers in Week 15 fresh off their bye. The 49ers are currently ranked 16th against the pass and may have up to seven players out on the defensive side of the ball. Despite this, there is a possibility at least one of the teammates Marquise Brown (heel) or Michael Wilson (neck) may play, and if so, present as a better fantasy option than Dortch. Even though Dortch has somewhat reemerged over the past few weeks, much of that has been due to an increase in play time due to the injury to Wilson. There is also the possibility the Cardinal offense may lean more heavily on tight end Trey McBride in the passing attack due to the tough matchup, making Dortch at best a WR4/5 gamble. Fantasy Managers can most likely find better starting options for Week 15.
