Greg Dortch Catches Touchdown Pass In Monday's Win Over Chargers

Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Greg Dortch caught the team's first touchdown on a five-yard out-route in the 17-15 win over the Los Angeles Chargers. It was his only catch of the game, as Dortch was targeted just twice in Monday's victory. After being announced as the team's primary slot receiver going into the season and following a solid Week 1 performance, Dortch has not lived up to the production that some expected. The Cardinals also returned wide receiver Zay Jones from suspension, which impacted Dortch's snap count. Although he was able to find the end zone, his role may not have the potential to be fantasy-relevant. The Cardinals will travel to Miami to face the Dolphins in Week 8, and Dortch is likely not an option for fantasy managers.

Greg Dortch Catches Three Passes In Week 6

Arizona Cardinals' Greg Dortch saw increased usage in the Week 6 loss, catching three passes for 36 yards, but hindered his production with a costly fumble in the red zone as the Cardinals were trying to come back. The Cardinals were blown out by the Green Bay Packers, losing 34-13, and the offense did not show up. Dortch hasn't found a clear role in the Cardinals' passing game this season but remains their primary slot receiver. With Marvin Harrison Jr. (concussion) going down with a concussion, more targets will open up in the Cardinals' passing game, creating more opportunities for other receivers. While the potential target increase could make Dortch a streaming option in Week 7, he is a risky waiver wire target ahead of the Cardinals' matchup with the Los Angeles Chargers.

Greg Dortch Not On Fantasy Radar In Week 5

Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Greg Dortch should remain on the waiver wire as the team travels to San Francisco to face the 49ers in Week 5. Dortch is rostered in just 3% of fantasy leagues, marking a season-low in ownership as many managers have dropped him. While he had a solid performance in Week 1 against the Bills, which gave some hope for the season, he has primarily been used in the slot as a check-down option and occasionally works the middle of the field on intermediate routes. With Cardinals tight end Trey McBride (concussion) back in the lineup, Dortch's target share will likely decrease further. He's not a viable fantasy option outside of deep leagues until he takes on a more significant role in the passing attack.

Greg Dortch Goes For 38 Yards Against Commanders

Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Greg Dortch is still searching for his first touchdown of the season after the Cardinals suffered a blowout loss at the hands of the Washington Commanders. Dortch caught all four of his targets for 38 yards which tied him for second-most receiving yards on the team with Michael Wilson. Despite being down for three quarters in this game, the Cardinals threw the ball only 22 times compared to 32 attempts on the ground. Dortch was able to at least catch 100% of the throws his way, but it hasn't turned into much fantasy success at all. Before the Monday night games kickoff for Week 4, Dortch sits at WR66 in half-PPR formats, and Trey McBride will likely be back soon, which turns into even fewer opportunities for him. The Cardinals will take on the San Francisco 49ers in Week 5 on the road.

Greg Dortch Active Against Lions Sunday

Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Greg Dortch (hamstring) is officially active for Week 3 against the Detroit Lions. He had been listed as questionable entering the weekend, but there was a growing sense that he would suit up. Dortch is expected to operate as the Cardinals' No. 3 receiver behind Marvin Harrison Jr. and Michael Wilson, and he'll also compete for touches with running back James Conner and tight end Trey McBride. Dortch has the potential to be a target hog, especially in the short-yardage passing game. However, he's only on the fantasy radar in deep leagues.

Greg Dortch Expected To Play In Week 3

Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Greg Dortch (hamstring) is expected to be active for Week 3 versus the Detroit Lions, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Dortch caught six of eight targets back in Week 1 but commanded just two targets on a 35 percent snap share last weekend. He is Arizona's No. 3 wide receiver behind Marvin Harrison Jr. and Michael Wilson, and he also has to compete with tight end Trey McBride and running back James Conner. Dortch can be left on waivers in most fantasy leagues this week.

Cardinals List Greg Dortch As Questionable

Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Greg Dortch (hamstring) popped up on Friday's injury report after putting in a limited practice session and is considered questionable to play in Week 3 against the visiting Detroit Lions. It suggests that Dortch suffered a hamstring injury in practice on Friday, which isn't a good sign for his availability this weekend. Making things even more worrisome for fantasy managers in deeper leagues that were considering the 26-year-old as a flex play is the fact that the Cardinals and Lions won't kick off until the later slate of games on Sunday. If Dortch is limited or held out entirely, it will mean more targets for rookie receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. and tight end Trey McBride, with wideout Michael Wilson likely serving as quarterback Kyler Murray's WR2. Dortch is worth a deep-league stash for WR depth after catching eight of 10 targets for 58 yards in the first two weeks.

Greg Dortch A Deep Flex Candidate

Buzz around Arizona Cardinals slot receiver Greg Dortch has been building for weeks. Dortch demonstrated great route running and chemistry with Kyler Murray during preseason training camps and in Week 1 had a 26% target share even though he was on the field for just 62% of offensive snaps. In Week 2, the Cardinals host the Los Angeles Rams, who themselves held Amon-Ra St. Brown to three catches and 13 yards out of the slot last week. The 2023 All-Pro's reputation demanded more attention than Dortch will likely see, but the Rams' ability to shut down the position shouldn't be overlooked. A repeat of Dortch's modest week 1 performance isn't out of the question and would still make him a solid flex play, especially in deeper leagues, but managers counting on a boom game are better off waiting another week.

Greg Dortch A Deep-League Option In Week 1

Now entering his fifth NFL season, Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Greg Dortch may finally have a regular role carved out for himself in 2024. Buzz has been building around Dortch throughout the preseason as he has shown chemistry with quarterback Kyler Murray and demonstrated excellent route running ability. Lauded rookie Marvin Harrison Jr. and third-year tight end Trey McBride are the top two targets in Arizona's offense but Dortch should see a fair amount out of the slot. The Cardinals face the Bills in Week 1 and while Buffalo's secondary will be a challenge, in 2023 they gave up more fantasy points per game to receivers lined up in the slot versus out wide. Dortch projects to be in WR5 territory in Week 1. While he may be worth a flex in deeper leagues, he should be held out of lineups in 10- or 12-teamers.

Cardinals Expect Greg Dortch To Have "A Big Year"

Arizona Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon said that wide receiver Greg Dortch is going to have "a big year." "He speaks softly and carries a big stick," Gannon said. With Rondale Moore no longer in town, Dortch has been working with the first-team offense in training camp this summer after being a backup receiver each of the last two seasons. The 26-year-old slot receiver has had his moments as an injury replacement, though, especially in 2022, when he had a career season with 52 receptions on 64 targets for 467 yards and two touchdowns in 16 games (four starts). The former undrafted free agent has injury concerns himself because of his small 5-foot-7, 175-pound stature, but he could be a sleeper candidate worth looking into, especially with quarterback Kyler Murray fully healthy to begin the 2024 campaign.
