Greg Rousseau Inks Extension With Buffalo

Per ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter, edge rusher Greg Rousseau has signed a four-year, $80 million extension with the Buffalo Bills, including $54 million guaranteed. Rousseau, 24, was selected No. 30 overall in the 2021 draft and is coming off his best season as a professional. In 2024, the Miami product racked up 53 tackles, eight sacks, three forced fumbles, and one fumble recovered. Furthermore, he played more snaps than any other defensive lineman for Buffalo by far last season and has missed only four contests due to injury in his four professional seasons. He'll continue to hold down the Bills' edge and will now be with the team through the 2028 season.

Gregory Rousseau Likely To Have Fifth-Year Option Exercised

Buffalo Bills general manager Brandon Beane recently said that the organization is likely to exercise the fifth-year option on defensive end Gregory Rousseau. This seems like a no-brainer for the Bills as Rousseau has been successful each of his first three seasons. He has totaled 129 tackles and 17 sacks in three seasons with the Bills. The former first-round pick has been relatively healthy and reliable throughout his time in Buffalo. The expectation is that the team will keep him around, assuming Rousseau continues playing at this level of success.

Gregory Rousseau Week-To-Week With Ankle Sprain

Buffalo Bills rookie defensive end Gregory Rousseau (ankle) suffered an ankle sprain in the Week 9 loss to the New York Jets and is considered week-to-week, according to a source. Rousseau is dealing with the dreaded high-ankle sprain, which can sideline players anywhere from four to six weeks, so fantasy managers in IDP leagues shouldn't expect the 22-year-old pass-rusher to be available in Week 10 against the Minnesota Vikings. It's a tough break for the Bills and Rousseau, as he has recorded five sacks, 21 tackles (16 solo), seven tackles for loss and nine QB hits in his first eight NFL games to this point. With Rousseau likely to miss some look for A.J. Epenesa and Shaq Lawson to see more playing time on the Bills defensive line.

Greg Rousseau Injured On Sunday

Buffalo Bills defensive end Greg Rousseau (ankle) is questionable to return in the Week 9 game against the New York Jets after injuring his ankle in the first half. Rousseau didn't have a single tackle before departing the contest. If the former first-rounder cannot return, Buffalo's defensive line will be at less than full strength the rest of the way. Carlos Basham and A.J. Epenesa will take on bigger roles on the opposite side of All-Pro pass-rusher Von Miller for the Bills defense.

Greg Rousseau Joins The Bills In First Round

The Buffalo Bills selected University of Miami edge rusher Greg Rousseau with the 30th overall pick in the first round of the 2021 NFL draft on Thursday night. Rousseau was second in the nation in sacks in 2019 behind Chase Young, but he opted out of football in 2020 due to COVID-19. He needs to get a quicker takeoff and needs to work on his technique, but he needs to work on his moves as he heads to the next level. But he does have plenty of versatility and length despite disappointing at his Pro Day. Coaches seem to like his frame as a defensive end, but if he fails there, he could be moved inside for the Bills. Buffalo is hoping that Rousseau, who is more of a project, can eventually help their pass rush.
