Miami Dolphins head coach Adam Gase said defensive end William Hayes (knee) will miss the rest of the season after tearing his ACL in the Week 3 win over the Raiders. The injury occurred when Hayes was trying to avoid putting his body weight on the quarterback during a hit. Hayes had four tackles and two sacks in the first three games of the season. The Dolphins will miss his pass-rushing presence moving forward.
Williams Hayes Practices on Wednesday, Dolphins Defense at 100%
Miami Dolphins defensive end Williams Hayes returned to practice on Wednesday, which puts the Dolphins defense at 100 percent for the first time since early in training camp. Despite the early-season health, the Dolphins defense is not in any position to have an improved 2018 campaign; they will likely repeat their below-average 2017 season. They remain an option in some matchups as a single-week filler or a low-owned DFS play. However, Week 1 against the Tennessee Titans is certainly not one of those weeks. The Titans boast exciting youth inMarcus Mariota and Derrick Henry and ageless veterans like Delanie Walker. The Dolphins defense will certainly be tested.
