Brayden Point Without Timetable for Return

Tampa Bay Lightning center Brayden Point (undisclosed) doesn't have a timetable for his return, according to Lightning reporter Gabby Shirley. Point has been out for four games with an unspecified health issue. This season, Point has been one of the biggest disappointments in fantasy hockey, recording only 11 points (three goals, eight assists) in 21 contests. With him out, Nicholas Paul has grabbed the second-line center role, while also skating with the top power-play unit. Paul has enjoyed taking on additional responsibilities, putting together a three-game point streak ahead of Tuesday's tilt against the New York Islanders.

Brayden Point Out Against Flyers

Tampa Bay Lightning center Brayden Point (undisclosed) will miss Monday's matchup against the Philadelphia Flyers. He will sit out his first game of the season due to an undisclosed injury. The team also considers Point questionable for Wednesday's meeting with the Calgary Flames. The injury is another setback for Point during a difficult campaign. The three-time 90-point scorer has been limited to 11 points (three goals, eight assists) in 21 outings and has a team-worst minus-11 rating. Point's absence on Monday boosts the fantasy value of Dominic James, who will join the second line. James recently exploded for four points (one goal, three assists) in two games, but he hasn't done any other scoring in 12 appearances this season.

Brayden Point Makes Early Exit Versus Capitals

Tampa Bay Lightning center Brayden Point (undisclosed) was injured late in the second period in Saturday's 5-3 win over the Washington Capitals. He tried to play through the injury but was able to take only one shift in the third frame. Point boasts a disappointing 11 points (three goals, eight assists) in 21 appearances this season, and the injury is an additional setback for him. Nikita Kucherov (undisclosed) was also injured on Saturday night, meaning the Tampa attack may have to go through major changes for Monday's contest against the Philadelphia Flyers. Nicholas Paul, Oliver Bjorkstrand, and Yanni Gourde are all candidates to move into the top six.

Brayden Point Busy In Tuesday's Victory

Tampa Bay Lightning center Brayden Point tallied three points during their 5-1 victory over the Florida Panthers on Tuesday evening. In the opening frame, Point would score his 42nd goal of the campaign and tally the primary assist on Connor Geekie's eighth goal of the season. Later in the second period, Point would add the secondary assist on Nikita Kucherov's 37th goal of the regular season. This three-point outing snapped his three-game scoreless streak. Before his minor slump, Point scored nine goals and added four helpers over his last nine contests. Through 76 games this season, the 29-year-old has found the back of the net 42 times and added 40 helpers. This was Point's third-straight campaign scoring at least 40 goals. He will look to stay hot in game No. 82 on Thursday against the Rangers.

In the third period, Point would finish his evening with his second power-play goal. Through 72 games this season, the 29-year-old has found the back of the net 41 times and added 38 helpers. He will look to stay hot on Wednesday against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Brayden Point Records Unique Hat Trick Versus Capitals

Tampa Bay Lightning center Brayden Point bagged his fifth career hat trick in very strange circumstances in Wednesday's 5-4 loss to Washington. After he had bagged two goals in the first period, Point was credited with a third goal in the final frame when Capitals goaltender Charlie Lindgren put the puck into his own net on a failed clearance attempt. It's the first time on record (since 2009-10) that a hat trick has been completed via an own goal in the NHL. The goal gave Tampa Bay a 4-3 lead, but luckily for Lindgren, the Capitals were able to turn things around inside the final 10 minutes of play. Point has been hot in front of the net all year, potting 15 goals in 17 games, which puts him tied for third in the league. He has also picked up five assists.

Brayden Point Ready To Return Versus Penguins

Tampa Bay Lightning center Brayden Point (lower body) will return to the lineup Tuesday versus Pittsburgh. He has received the green light to return after sitting out four games. Before suffering a lower-body injury, Point was on fire, going scoreless in only two of 12 appearances. He has notched eight goals and five assists this term. Point will join Jake Guentzel and Nikita Kucherov on the top line, bumping Anthony Cirelli down to the second. Cirelli must also relinquish his role on the first power-play unit, but he will still have a good amount of fantasy value. Tampa Bay Lightning center Brayden Point (lower body) will not be available for Tuesday's clash with St. Louis. Nikita Kucherov and Brandon Hagel will skate with Anthony Cirelli on the first line, with Nicholas Paul moving to the second line. He will be flanked by Jake Guentzel and Mitchell Chaffee. The latter will replace Point on the first power-play unit. As a result of the changes, we will also see Conor Geekie drop back down to the third line.
