Ryan McDonagh Likely To Return Wednesday

Nashville Predators defenseman Ryan McDonagh (upper body) will "hopefully" be in the lineup Wednesday night when the club takes on the Calgary Flames on home ice, per head coach Andrew Brunette. The veteran rearguard has been out of action since Nov. 2 due to an upper-body injury but took line rushes with Predators captain Roman Josi on Wednesday morning, indicating he is good to return in the evening. Traded from the Lightning to the Predators as a salary dump prior to last season, the 34-year-old has two assists and 25 blocked shots through 10 games this season after recording 22 points and a hefty 165 blocks last season. His defense-first style will be a welcome addition for a Preds team that is tied for 21st in overall defense and 30th on the penalty kill. Dante Fabbro is likely to come out of the lineup and serve as a healthy scratch on Wednesday.

Ryan McDonagh Set To Sit Out Another Game

Nashville Predators defenseman Ryan McDonagh (upper body) is set to miss a second consecutive game Thursday against Chicago. The veteran is troubled by an upper-body injury and Nashville continues to consider him day-to-day. McDonagh's offensive contributions have been limited to only 15 points this season, but he's among the team leaders with 126 blocks in 57 games and has also registered 53 hits. Kevin Gravel has taken over McDonagh's spot in the lineup.

Ryan McDonagh Delivers Three Assists Saturday

Nashville Predators defenseman Ryan McDonagh put in a very impressive performance against Florida on Saturday, finishing a 7-3 victory with three assists and a plus-four rating. He also blocked two shots in 20:57 of action and handed out one hit. McDonagh ended a nine-game scoreless spell with the big effort. The veteran defenseman has tallied only 14 points across 46 outings, but he has come up big for the team on the defensive end with 96 blocks. McDonagh logs big minutes as Roman Josi's trusted partner, and the Predators captain had a three-point outing himself as well Saturday with a goal and two assists.

Ryan McDonagh Ready To Return Wednesday

Nashville Predators defenseman Ryan McDonagh (upper body) will return to the lineup Wednesday against Chicago. He has missed seven games after taking a puck to the face in a game earlier in the month and McDonagh will return wearing a full cage for the first time in his pro career. The veteran is more useful in real life than in fantasy hockey these days. He hasn't yet scored a single goal in 2022-23 and boasts five points through 23 games with 20 shots, 19 hits and 48 blocks. McDonagh will be replacing Jordan Gross in the lineup, who was assigned to the AHL on Tuesday.

Ryan McDonagh Ruled Out For 2-4 Weeks

Nashville Predators defenseman Ryan McDonagh has picked up an upper-body injury and is expected to miss two to four weeks. The veteran blue-liner was gearing up for his return to Tampa this week, but he will now instead have to miss at least six games. McDonagh has skated in 23 games with the Predators since arriving via a trade from Tampa in the summer, logging six points with 20 shots, 19 hits, 49 blocks and a plus-five rating. He has worked well with Roman Josi on the top defensive pairing lately, but head coach John Hynes will now be forced into some shuffling. Jordan Gross has been summoned from the minors, and he will hope to nail down a spot in the lineup after impressing with 11 points in 13 AHL appearances this season.

Ryan McDonagh Traded To Predators

The Nashville Predators have acquired defenseman Ryan McDonagh from the Tampa Bay Lightning in exchange for defenseman Philippe Myers and a forward prospect. McDonagh has four seasons remaining on his seven-year contract, and the veteran defenseman will bring his experience to a competitive Predators team which made the Playoffs for the eighth straight season before falling to the eventual Stanley Cup champion Colorado Avalanche in the first round. McDonagh is a solid contributor for deeper fantasy formats heading into the upcoming NHL season.

Ryan McDonagh Ends Eight-Game Absence

Tampa Bay Lightning defenseman Ryan McDonagh (upper body) is set to end an eight-game absence on Sunday against Buffalo. He's replacing Cal Foote in the lineup. The veteran rearguard has been on the cusp of returning all week and finally rejoins the action. Ryan McDonagh typically eats up over 20 minutes on the blue line and has done a bit of everything for the team over the course of the season, tallying 21 points in 60 games with 82 hits and 116 blocks. He's slated to skate with Erik Cernak on the second defensive pairing.

Ryan McDonagh Remains Out Monday

Tampa Bay Lightning defenseman Ryan McDonagh (upper body) will sit out a sixth consecutive game on Monday against Toronto, but it appears that he isn't far away from returning. The veteran rearguard took part in the morning skate and he could be an option later in the week. The best days are clearly behind him, but McDonagh has chipped in with three goals and 18 assists this season in 60 games, adding 82 blocks and 116 hits. Cal Foote has entered the lineup in his absence and hasn't had the same kind of impact as McDonagh, who typically eats up a lot of minutes as well for Tampa.

Ryan McDonagh Misses Saturday's Game

Tampa Bay Lightning defenseman Ryan McDonagh will sit out Saturday's matchup against Boston with a lower-body injury. Andrej Sustr will join the lineup, while Mikhail Sergachev moves up to the second defensive pairing to link up with Erik Cernak. McDonagh is considered day-to-day, so he shouldn't miss a lot of time. His first chance to return to the lineup comes on Monday against New Jersey. Sergachev has already eaten up plenty of minutes on the third pairing and should now see even more action. The Russian rearguard has notched 15 points in 32 games this season with 48 shots, 43 blocks and 47 hits.

Ryan McDonagh Has Chance To Return On Thursday

Tampa Bay Lightning defenseman Ryan McDonagh (lower body) came through Wednesday's practice and seems ready to return to action in Thursday's clash with Columbus. The veteran blueliner, who has 10 points for the season, has missed four games. He seems to have been a huge miss, with the Bolts heading into Thursday's encounter on a three-game losing streak. McDonagh eats up nearly 22 minutes a night, and he's been a major force on the defensive end with 64 blocks and 41 hits in 31 games. He makes a timely return as Tampa's blue line is short of Jan Rutta (lower body) and Erik Cernak (lower body).

Ryan McDonagh Misses First Game Of The Season

Tampa Bay Lightning defenseman Ryan McDonagh (lower body) will miss his first game of the season on Tuesday when the team visits Dallas. The veteran blueliner played less than seven minutes in Sunday's 5-3 victory over Florida and failed to recover for the Stanley Cup Finals rematch. The team starts a four-game road trip and head coach Jon Cooper has said that McDonagh might be back before it's finished, so the 31-year-old isn't too badly hurt. His first chance to return comes on Thursday against the Stars, and the team has a pair of games against Carolina over the weekend.

Ryan McDonagh Exits Sunday's Win With Injury

Tampa Bay Lightning defenseman Ryan McDonagh left Sunday's 5-3 victory over Florida with a lower-body injury. The veteran blueliner logged only nine shifts before being ruled out for the rest of the contest. McDonagh doesn't offer much offensively anymore, but he's averaged over two blocks per game and has delivered 41 in 31 appearances while logging nearly 22 minutes a night. Head coach Jon Cooper didn't have an update on McDonagh's injury after the game. The Bolts return to the ice on Tuesday against Dallas.
