Ilya Mikheyev Dealing With Undisclosed Injury

Vancouver Canucks winger Ilya Mikheyev missed Thursday's Game 5 against Edmonton with an undisclosed injury. Initially, he was believed to be a healthy scratch for the game, but Sportsnet's Dan Murphy has reported that the Russian winger is actually "banged up." Mikheyev has had a rough time in the 2024 postseason, going scoreless with 11 shots on goal in 10 games and carrying a minus-four rating. His lack of form has also negatively impacted Elias Pettersson, who has spent a lot of time skating with Mikheyev. Pettersson was paired with Elias Lindholm and Nils Hoglander on Thursday. He notched an assist as the Canucks moved one win away from the Conference Finals with a 3-2 victory.

Ilya Mikheyev Good To Go Thursday

Vancouver Canucks winger Ilya Mikheyev (lower body) will play Thursday against the Golden Knights. He left Tuesday's 3-1 win over Anaheim with a lower-body injury, but luckily, it wasn't a serious issue for Mikheyev. The Russian forward had an assist on Tuesday and has compiled 12 points (seven goals, five assists) in 19 games in 2023-24. He missed time at the beginning of the campaign due to offseason knee surgery. Mikheyev had a strong start to the season, but he's registered only four points across his last 10 appearances.

Ilya Mikheyev Notches A Pair Of Goals Thursday

Vancouver Canucks forward Ilya Mikheyev tallied a pair of goals on Thursday as the Canucks knocked off the hosting Ottawa Senators by a 5-2 count. The speedy winger added to the club's hot start by making it a 2-0 game just three minutes into the contest before notching his second of the game 9:23 into the third period. It's been a hot start for Mikheyev who has notched five goals and eight points on 24 shots in nine contests in his return from an ACL injury suffered last season. Even with the hot start, Mikheyev is a middling fantasy asset. He doesn't shoot the puck a ton and he also doesn't skate on the Canucks' top power-play unit. However, he is certainly worth keeping an eye on as long he is skating to the left of superstar Elias Pettersson at even strength.

Ilya Mikheyev To Make Season Debut Saturday

Vancouver Canucks forward Ilya Mikheyev (knee) is set to make his season debut Saturday night for a road matchup against the Florida Panthers. The Russian speedster hasn't placed since Jan. 27 of last season as he would undergo surgery to repair a torn ACL midway through his first season with the Canucks. Mikheyev tallied 13 goals and 28 points across 46 games last season before undergoing the knife and gives the Canucks a quality middle-six winger in his return. From a fantasy perspective, the 29-year-old does not contribute enough above-average production in any particular category as he is far more valuable to the Canucks than he is to your fantasy roster.

Ilya Mikheyev Expected To Miss Season Opener

Vancouver Canucks winger Ilya Mikheyev (knee) came through a full practice on Sunday, but the team will likely still have to start the season without him. Mikheyev hasn't been cleared to play and will need to get in more practice time to be game-ready. Starting the campaign without Mikheyev is far from ideal for the Canucks, but it looks like he won't be forced to sit out a lot of action. The Canucks open their season Wednesday versus Edmonton and will have another game against the Oilers Saturday night.

Ilya Mikheyev Questionable For Opening Night

Vancouver Canucks winger Ilya Mikheyev (knee) will sit out the rest of the preseason, and his status for opening night is up in the air. The 28-year-old is recovering from a torn ACL and looks like he's still a bit away from being fully healthy. Mikheyev has also missed some practice time in training camp for personal reasons. The Russian winger will start the second season of a four-year, $19 million contract in 2023-24. The Canucks get things rolling on Oct. 11 with a home game against the Edmonton Oilers.

Ilya Mikheyev Leaves Practice Early Tuesday

Vancouver Canucks forward Ilya Mikheyev (knee) took part in Canucks practice on Tuesday but departed early and reportedly wasn't very involved in the on-ice session. The speedy winger underwent season-ending ACL surgery in January after initially suffering a partially torn ACL during a pre-season game in September of 2022. The Russian signed a four-year, $19 million contract with the Canucks prior to last season after spending three seasons with the Toronto Maple Leafs. The oft-injured Mikheyev tallied 13 goals and 28 points across 46 games in his first season with Vancouver but he will certainly endure another injury-shortened season in 2023-24, making him a risky fantasy investment on draft day.

Ilya Mikheyev Not At Canucks Camp For Personal Reasons

Vancouver Canucks right wing Ilya Mikheyev has left the team's training camp for personal reasons, general manager Patrik Allvin announced on Thursday. It's currently unclear how long he will be away from the team. Mikheyev is also currently trying to return from a knee injury, and his participation in preseason games has been considered doubtful. The Russian winger had a solid debut campaign with the Canucks last term, posting 13 goals and 15 assists in 46 games before the knee issue ended his season in January. Mikheyev is also highly rated for his defensive skills and penalty-killing ability, so the Canucks will be desperate to get him into the lineup for opening night.

Ilya Mikheyev Doubtful For Preseason

Vancouver Canucks right wing Ilya Mikheyev (knee) might not be ready to feature in preseason games, CHEK TV's Rick Dhaliwal has reported. The Russian forward is still trying to recover from an ACL injury that cut his 2022-23 campaign short. However, it is believed that he could be an option for opening night. Mikheyev had a solid run with the Canucks last season before getting shut down in January. He notched 13 goals and had 15 assists in 46 outings. The 28-year-old boasts 100 points (49 goals, 51 assists) in 192 career appearances, and he should be a valuable member of the Canucks' top-six group once he's healthy again.

Ilya Mikheyev Set For Season-Ending Surgery

Vancouver Canucks winger Ilya Mikheyev played his final game of the season Friday against Columbus, as he is set to have surgery on his left knee. Canucks general manager Patrik Allvin revealed on Friday that Mikheyev had incredibly been playing through an ACL tear in his left knee, which he suffered all the way back in September during the team's first preseason game. Despite the injury, Mikheyev was able to make 46 appearances for the Canucks and scored his 13th goal of the season in Friday's 5-2 win. He concludes his first season in Vancouver with 28 points, and Mikheyev is expected to be fully ready for training camp next fall.

Ilya Mikheyev Racks Up Four Points Versus San Jose

Vancouver Canucks winger Ilya Mikheyev was in sensational form against San Jose on Tuesday, finishing a 6-2 victory with four points and a plus-five rating. He scored once with three shots on goal and had three assists in 15:31 of ice time. Bo Horvat put together his second consecutive four-point outing and Brock Boeser notched a goal and two assists, so Vancouver's top line had a field day in the matchup. Mikheyev's NHL career has started to pick up lately, with him going for three goals and six points across the last four games. He's on 12 goals and 22 points for the whole campaign with 31 games played. The 28-year-old should be set for a big second half of the season if he sticks with Horvat, who is one of the league's best goal-scorers and averages over a point per game.

Ilya Mikheyev Week-To-Week With A Lower-Body Injury

Vancouver Canucks winger Ilya Mikheyev is considered week-to-week with a lower-body injury after getting hurt in a preseason game against Calgary over the weekend. The 27-year-old Russian was hit awkwardly into the boards and left midway through the game. Mikheyev was skating in his first Canucks game after earning himself a nice four-year, $19 million deal in July. He appeared in 53 games for Toronto last season and had a solid campaign with 21 goals and 32 points. With Brock Boeser (hand) also on the shelf, Vasily Podkolzin could find himself in a very prominent role for Vancouver early in the season, and Conor Garland should benefit from the injuries as well.

Ilya Mikheyev Completes Game 3 Victory With Two Empty-Netters

Toronto Maple Leafs winger Ilya Mikheyev tallied two goals in Friday's 5-2 victory over Tampa Bay, sealing the deal with a pair of empty-netters. These are his first career playoff goals. The Russian winger had an action-packed night as he recorded six shots and five hits. It's possible Ilya Mikheyev felt like he had a point to prove after William Nylander replaced him on the second line. It's been a fine season all around for the 27-year-old, and he should have even more success in this high-scoring series.

Ilya Mikheyev Surprises Ottawa With Two Goals Saturday

Toronto Maple Leafs forward Ilya Mikheyev made his season debut on December 14th against the Edmonton Oilers. Then, all the delays, some COVID protocol, and Canadian attendance restrictions happened. Mikheyev started on Saturday and had one of the best performances of his career. The Toronto winger fired seven shots on goal while generating five scoring chances. Now, two of those pucks went in the net. Mikheyev scored late in the first period with a short-handed tally. Then, in the third period, he was set up by Ondrej Kase and Jason Spezza to tally a power-play goal. If Mikheyev can stay healthy, he can provide that middle-six scoring punch Toronto sorely needs.
