David Kampf Scratched on Sunday

Vancouver Canucks center David Kampf will exit the lineup on Sunday against the Pittsburgh Penguins, Sportsnet's Brendan Batchelor reports. He will be replaced by Aatu Raty, who has missed two games as a healthy scratch. Kampf has been quiet with the Canucks since signing a one-year, $1.1 million deal with the team in November. In 30 outings, he has contributed only two goals and four assists. With Filip Chytil and Teddy Blueger back in action, Kampf has fallen down in the depth chart and is now completely out of the lineup. Vancouver is also expected to have Marco Rossi (lower body) back in the middle soon, further crowding the center position and complicating Kampf's situation.

David Kampf Unavailable Saturday

Toronto Maple Leafs center David Kampf (upper body) will not be in the lineup on Saturday against the Columbus Blue Jackets. He is considered day-to-day with an upper-body injury sustained during Wednesday's victory over the Florida Panthers. Playing on the fourth line, Kampf has contributed five goals and eight assists across 59 outings this season, winning 51.2 percent of his faceoffs. Due to Kampf's absence, Nicholas Robertson will get an opportunity to play. 2024-25 has been a disappointing campaign for Robertson, who has posted only 19 points (12 goals, seven assists) in 62 games. He is likely to struggle to make a fantasy impact in a fourth-line role.

David Kampf To Miss At Least A Week

Toronto Maple Leafs center David Kampf will miss at least a week with an undisclosed injury, as per head coach Sheldon Keefe. Keefe stated an MRI found something that usually takes a couple of weeks to recover from but the team has already been off since Jan. 27 due to a bye week and subsequent All-Star break. He will be listed as day-to-day once one week has passed. The veteran has been deployed as the Leafs' fourth-line center this season and has just four goals and eight points across 46 games. Additionally, his ice time has dropped from 15:18 last season to 13:06 per game this time around. Another Maple Leafs bottom-six forward, Calle Jarnkrok, is already sidelined indefinitely with a broken hand.

David Kampf Locked Up By Toronto For Four Years

Toronto Maple Leafs center David Kampf has inked a four-year extension worth $9.6 million. He is coming off a two-year, $3 million contract and was set to be an unrestricted free agent. The deal means that the Maple Leafs have locked up a solid bottom-six forward with a very affordable $2.4 million cap hit. Kampf produced seven goals and 27 points in 82 games last season while winning 51.5 percent of his faceoffs. The 28-year-old has appeared in 399 regular-season games in total in the NHL, putting up 35 goals and 111 points. Toronto also announced on Wednesday that forward Pontus Holmberg, who had 13 points in 37 games last season, has been signed to a two-year deal worth $1.6 million.
