The 24-year-old has now scored two goals in each of his past two contests and is riding six-game point streak. Prior to this hot stretch, he tallied just two points (two goals) over the first eight games of the month. Voronkov will look to stay hot facing Boston once again on Saturday evening.

Columbus kicks off the campaign on Thursday versus Minnesota, with Boone Jenner (shoulder) and Justin Danforth (wrist) also missing from the attack. This will give fresh signing Kevin Labanc a top-six role, while veteran James van Riemsdyk also has a chance to impress as a second-line piece.

Columbus Blue Jackets left wing Dmitri Voronkov was the only man to beat Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen in the Sabres crease on Friday, recording a power-play goal in the first period of a 2-1 loss. Having scored for the fourth time this season with the man advantage, Voronkov is now tied with New Jersey's Luke Hughes for most power-play goals among first-year players. The Russian rookie has been very comfortable in front of goal lately, potting four goals in his past seven appearances. He reached 15 career goals on Friday, which marks the second most in franchise history by a player through his first 50th appearance with the team. Voronkov has added 13 assists while logging a team-best plus-six rating during a fairly successful rookie campaign.
