Ottawa Senators left wing Dominik Kubalik (hip) could be back from a four-game absence on Monday against Nashville. He worked with Shane Pinto and Vladimir Tarasenko on Monday morning. Kubalik has produced nine goals and three assists in a fairly limited role in 2023-24, averaging 14:01 of action across 41 games. Before dropping out of the lineup, he went five straight games without registering a single point. Fantasy managers should have better options available to them in most leagues.

The Ottawa Senators have acquired winger Dominik Kubalik from the Detroit Red Wings in a deal that saw the team depart with Alex DeBrincat. The Czech forward will suit up for a third team in three seasons after joining the Red Wings as a free agent from Chicago last year. Kubalik had a decent season in Motown, posting 20 goals and 45 points in 81 games while averaging less than 15 minutes of ice time, but his form faded badly over the last couple of months. He now gets a fresh start in Canada, entering his fifth NHL season sitting on 82 goals and 161 points in 283 career games.

Coming off a stellar rookie season in which he pocketed 30 goals in 68 games, Kubalik will be counted on to play an even greater role on a struggling Hawks team missing forwards Jonathan Toews, Kirby Dach and Alex Nylander long-term due to injury. He'll take the ice next versus the Detroit Red Wings on Friday.
