Ottawa Senators left wing Dominik Kubalik (hip) could be back from a four-game absence on Monday against Nashville. He worked with Shane Pinto and Vladimir Tarasenko on Monday morning. Kubalik has produced nine goals and three assists in a fairly limited role in 2023-24, averaging 14:01 of action across 41 games. Before dropping out of the lineup, he went five straight games without registering a single point. Fantasy managers should have better options available to them in most leagues.
The Ottawa Senators have acquired winger Dominik Kubalik from the Detroit Red Wings in a deal that saw the team depart with Alex DeBrincat. The Czech forward will suit up for a third team in three seasons after joining the Red Wings as a free agent from Chicago last year. Kubalik had a decent season in Motown, posting 20 goals and 45 points in 81 games while averaging less than 15 minutes of ice time, but his form faded badly over the last couple of months. He now gets a fresh start in Canada, entering his fifth NHL season sitting on 82 goals and 161 points in 283 career games.
Dominik Kubalik Extends Point Streak With Two Assists
Chicago Blackhawks winger Dominik Kubalik extended his point streak to four games with a couple of assists in Monday's 5-2 loss to Carolina. Ian Mitchell and Alex DeBrincat scored the goals. Kubalik has had a fine campaign with 15 goals and 35 points in 52 games. He relied heavily on the power play to put points on the board early in the season, but the Czech winger has greatly improved his even-strength play during the latter half of the season. The 25-year-old has picked up eight points in six games against the Hurricanes, whom Chicago plays two more times this week.
Dominik Kubalik Posts Two Goals In Monday's Overtime Win
Chicago Blackhawks winger Dominik Kubalik had a nice two-goal outing on Monday against Detroit, notching the team's second goal and then hitting a 3-2 game-winner in overtime. Mattias Janmark started the scoring for Chicago. Kubalik had four total shots in the game, adding one block. The Czech winger has been pretty quiet since opening the month with five points across two games, but he has been big for the team and fantasy managers this season with 14 points and 53 shots in 17 games. He faces the struggling Red Wings again on Wednesday.
Dominik Kubalik Stands Out In Chicago's Loss On Tuesday
Chicago Blackhawks forward Dominik Kubalik registered two goals and added an assist as his team came up short to the Florida Panthers 5-4 on Tuesday. The 25-year-old had his best game of the young season in the loss, also contributing a plus-one rating and a team-high eight shots on goal in just 14:16 of ice time. Coming off a stellar rookie season in which he pocketed 30 goals in 68 games, Kubalik will be counted on to play an even greater role on a struggling Hawks team missing forwards Jonathan Toews, Kirby Dach and Alex Nylander long-term due to injury. He'll take the ice next versus the Detroit Red Wings on Friday.
