According to Brandon J. Sommermann of The Brother Bullies, the Philadelphia Flyers are placing defenseman Egor Zamula (upper body) on Injured Reserve, retroactive to Jan. 24. The 24-year-old has missed their previous four contests. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status, as he is eligible to return at any time since he has already been sidelined for the minimum timeframe. While sidelined, Erik Johnson has entered the starting lineup and has played on the bottom pairing. Before his injury, Zamula tallied just two points over his previous eight contests. Overall, the 24-year-old has tallied three goals and eight assists across 39 contests. While he has not been productive in the scoring department, he has tallied 59 blocked shots with 15 hits.
Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Egor Zamula had the best offensive outing of his young career on Sunday versus Ottawa, factoring in all of the team's three goals in a 5-3 defeat. Two goals from Zamula gave Philadelphia a 2-0 lead in the first period, and he had an assist when Joel Farabee made it 3-1 in the second. Zamula collected two of his points on the power play. The 23-year-old had a quiet start to his rookie campaign, but he's produced a nice 15-game spell with four goals and seven assists. The good run of form has pushed Zamula to 15 points for the season. He's notched five goals and 10 assists with 37 shots and 42 blocks.
