Jeff Carter Pots Two Goals In Victory Over Colorado

Pittsburgh Penguins center Jeff Carter potted two goals, including the game-winning marker, in Wednesday's impressive 5-2 road victory over the Avalanche. The veteran hit a power-play goal in the second period and added an even-strength tally in the third. These are Carter's first goals since Feb. 26. The 38-year-old has struggled for form and his ice time has nosedived in recent outings, with Carter even getting limited to only 6:30 of action in the previous game. However, Pittsburgh head coach Mike Sullivan got a great reaction out of Carter Wednesday night. Sitting on 11 goals and 15 assists through 68 outings, Carter is averaging a career-low 0.38 points per game this season.

Jeff Carter A Game-Time Decision For Wednesday

Pittsburgh Penguins center Jeff Carter (lower body) is regarded as a game-time decision for Wednesday's battle with the Capitals. He has been on the shelf for three games with a lower-body problem, but it appears that the veteran is getting ready to return to the lineup, as he has ditched the non-contact jersey in practice. Carter centered the third line in Tuesday's practice and also worked on the second power-play unit. The 37-year-old has done reasonably well so far this season, notching two goals and four assists in nine appearances.

Jeff Carter Unavailable Tuesday

Pittsburgh Penguins center Jeff Carter (lower body) will sit out Tuesday's contest against Boston. He is nursing a lower-body injury since getting hurt in Saturday's loss to Seattle. Pittsburgh plays again Wednesday versus Buffalo, so it's possible Carter sits out multiple games. The veteran has enjoyed some good form this season, getting two goals and four assists in nine outings. Based on the morning skate, it looks like Carter will give up the third-line center spot to Drew O'Connor, who will make his season debut on Tuesday. He has managed six points in eight AHL appearances this season.

Jeff Carter Listed As Day-To-Day

Pittsburgh Penguins center Jeff Carter is nursing an upper-body injury and is considered day-to-day. The veteran wasn't able to suit up for preseason action against Columbus at the weekend and he will also miss Tuesday's match against Detroit. Carter had his most productive season since 2016-17 last year with 45 points, scoring 19 goals and delivering 26 assists. He benefitted a lot from Evgeni Malkin's lengthy absence, which is something fantasy managers have to keep in mind whilst drafting their squad for the upcoming season. Carter will be stuck on the third line in 2022-23 unless the injury bug takes a large bite at Pittsburgh's forwards group.

Jeff Carter Sustains A Lower-Body Injury

Pittsburgh Penguins forward Jeff Carter sustained a lower-body injury and couldn't make it to the end in Thursday's 4-0 win over Boston. He exited in the third period after logging 13:34 of action. Carter had a nice game before being forced off, tallying his 48th point of the season via an assist and recording a plus-two rating. It's currently unclear how serious the injury is. However, the good news is that Evgeni Malkin's four-game suspension ended on Thursday and can reclaim his spot on the second line, which Carter had been filling. Fantasy managers should make sure that the Russian is back in their lineup for a juicy back-to-back set against Detroit and Philadelphia over the weekend.

Jeff Carter Contributes Two Points In Victory

Pittsburgh Penguins forward Jeff Carter finished with a goal and an assist in Friday's 5-2 victory against the Golden Knights. Carter scored a second period goal to tie the game, and he would add an assist on the game-winning goal scored by defenseman Mark Friedman in the opening minutes of the third period. Carter has produced 14 goals and a total of 32 points through 53 games, and the veteran forward is worth rostering in deeper fantasy formats as he has been decent but at the same time not able to replicate the consistent production from when he was acquired by the Penguins last season.

Jeff Carter Agrees To Extension With Penguins

Pittsburgh Penguins forward Jeff Carter came to an agreement on a two-year, $6.25 million contract extension with the club on Wednesday. The 37-year-old could have been an unrestricted free agent after the current season came to an end, while the two-year deal has an average annual value of $3.125 million. Carter has totaled 12 goals and 14 assists through 36 games this season, while scoring 21 goals through 50 games since he was acquired by the Penguins in a trade with the Kings last season. Carter has played alongside center Evgeni Malkin and right winger Kasperi Kapanen, giving all three forwards significant value across standard fantasy formats.

Jeff Carter Takes Down Sabres In Overtime

Pittsburgh Penguins forward Jeff Carter ensured a 3-2 win over Buffalo in overtime on Friday, scoring his ninth goal of the season 2:53 into the extra frame. He logged seven shots in total and had one block and one hit with a plus-one rating in 18:52 of ice time. Carter has 17 points for the season, and he's averaging a point per game across his past six appearances after going a bit cold during the latter half of last month. The Penguins are currently on a hot streak and the points should keep piling up for Carter.

Jeff Carter Scores Two Goals In Easy Pittsburgh Road Triumph

Pittsburgh Penguins center Jeff Carter put two pucks into the back of the net on Monday night as the Penguins won easily on the road 6-1 over the Seattle Kraken. Carter opened the scoring which featured a three goal barrage in the first 5:07. His goal at 1:47 was off another nice play by Danton Heinen. All Carter had to do was shoot and that was it. Then, the center added a second tally seconds after Jake Guentzel made it 4-1. With about a minute left in the second period, Kris Letang and Danton Heinen set up the center for a second goal. Carter had four shots on goal in 16:53 of ice time and now has seven goals and seven assists this season.

Tristan Jarry And Jeff Carter Enter COVID-19 List

Pittsburgh Penguins goaltender Tristan Jarry and forward Jeff Carter were added to the COVID-19 protocols list on Thursday, with the latter having tested positive for the coronavirus. It remains to be seen if they will be available for Saturday's home game against Toronto. Casey DeSmith, who took a 5-4 overtime loss against Florida in his only appearance this season, is in line to start if Jarry isn't available, while Evan Rodrigues centered the top line in Carter's absence at Thursday's practice. Sidney Crosby (wrist) is already ruled out for Saturday and Evgeni Malkin (knee) isn't anywhere near to returning to the lineup, meaning that Pittsburgh's lines could look very interesting at weekend.

Jeff Carter Scores 400th Career Goal

Pittsburgh Penguins forward Jeff Carter celebrated his 400th career goal in Thursday's 5-4 overtime loss at Florida. He tied things up at two with a power-play tally and went on to collect an assist on a Jake Guentzel goal. The veteran forward added eight shots, two hits and one block to his stat line in 22:25 of action. Carter became the sixth active player with 400 career goals. There should be more to come from him soon, as Pittsburgh's center depth has taken a big hit with injuries and Carter is playing a big role offensively. He's started the year with three points in two games.

Jeff Carter Nets Another One In Saturday's Win

Pittsburgh Penguins forward Jeff Carter remained hot in front of the goal on Saturday, netting the lone marker in a 1-0 win over Buffalo. He was set up by Frederick Gaudreau at the start of the second period. Carter exploded for four goals against the Sabres in Thursday's 8-4 win, and he managed to end the regular season with six goals in five games. The veteran was a nice addition for the Penguins as he picked up nine goals and 11 points in 14 games for the team. He's locked in for another year and should have a solid season in 2021-22 when he gets to spend the whole campaign with the talented Pittsburgh team.

Jeff Carter Notches First Point As Penguin

Pittsburgh Penguins forward Jeff Carter tallied his first point for the team in Sunday's 4-2 loss to Buffalo, collecting an assist on Jason Zucker's seventh goal of the season. The 16-year veteran is centering the second line between Zucker and Jared McCann. He's been quite busy offensively so far, registering eight shots in three games and it should be only a matter of time before Carter also opens his goals account in Pittsburgh. Next week offers a great opportunity to do it as the Penguins start a very favorable three-game set against New Jersey on Tuesday.

Jeff Carter Dishes Out Two Assists Saturday Night

Los Angeles Kings center Jeff Carter provided two assists in Saturday's 4-3 overtime loss to Minnesota, registering his second two-point game of the season. Gabriel Vilardi, Blake Lizotte, and Andreas Athanasiou scored the goals for the Kings, who blew a 3-1 lead in the third period. Carter has had a couple of really poor seasons with only 60 total points in 136 games across the last two campaigns, but he looks set for a big bounce-back year. The Kings take on Colorado next on Tuesday and Thursday. It's been a very favorable matchup for Carter through the years, as he has 14 goals and 20 points in 26 career games against the Avalanche.
