Jeff Skinner Remains Sidelined Wednesday

San Jose Sharks left wing Jeff Skinner (lower body) will remain out on Wednesday against the Washington Capitals. The veteran has logged a couple of practice sessions this week, but the team doesn't want to rush him back. Skinner has been out of action since Nov. 13, missing nine games. He has tallied seven points (four goals, three assists) across 17 outings this season. After Wednesday night, San Jose has two more games scheduled for this week, and it appears likely that Skinner will return to the lineup for one of the contests. Ryan Warsofsky's team will face Dallas on Friday and Carolina on Sunday.

Jeff Skinner Placed on Injured Reserve

San Jose Sharks left wing Jeff Skinner (lower body) landed on Injured Reserve ahead of Saturday's tilt against the Seattle Kraken. In a corresponding move, the Sharks recalled Zack Ostapchuk from the minors. Ostapchuk will replace Skinner in the lineup on Saturday and is likely to see more playing opportunities going forward, as Skinner will have to miss at least three games. The veteran was hurt during Thursday's loss to the Calgary Flames. Skinner's performance has fluctuated throughout the season, resulting in seven points (four goals, three assists) in 17 appearances. Ostapchuk will join the fourth line, so he is not a player that fantasy managers should be interested in.

Jeff Skinner Hurt Early on Thursday

San Jose Sharks left wing Jeff Skinner (lower body) was hurt during his first shift on Thursday against the Calgary Flames, exiting the action after logging only 42 seconds of ice time. He suffered a lower-body injury on a hard fall and needed assistance to get off the ice. This season has been disappointing for Skinner, and a significant injury would only add to his struggles. In 17 games, he has recorded four goals and three assists, with four of his seven total points coming in the first four games. Currently, San Jose does not have an extra forward on the roster, which means a defenseman may replace Skinner in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Seattle Kraken.

Jeff Skinner Back in Oilers Lineup Thursday

Edmonton Oilers left wing Jeff Skinner will return to the lineup on Thursday night for Game 5 against the Dallas Stars. The veteran forward will step in for Zach Hyman (upper body), taking on a third-line role. Skinner has appeared only once this postseason, recording an assist in 11:12 of action during a 6-5 loss to the Los Angeles Kings in Edmonton's first playoff game of the year. He finished the regular season with 29 points (16 goals, 13 assists) in 72 appearances, averaging two shots per game. Skinner is a former 40-goal scorer and can certainly cause problems for teams, but he has not been a consistent offensive threat in recent years.

Jeff Skinner Re-Enters Oilers Lineup Tuesday

Edmonton Oilers left wing Jeff Skinner will re-enter the lineup on Tuesday against Utah. Skinner's season has not gone well, and he was named a healthy scratch on Sunday versus Anaheim. On Tuesday, he will be welcomed back in the lineup, with Oilers head coach Kris Knoblauch also planning to do some line shuffling. Skinner, who posted an 82-point campaign only two seasons ago, has totaled 12 points (six goals, six assists) in 35 appearances this term. Four of the points came in the opening five games of the season.

Jeff Skinner Pots Lone Oilers Goal In Battle Of Alberta

Edmonton Oilers left wing Jeff Skinner scored his squad's only goal as the Calgary Flames won this season's first Battle of Alberta 4-1 on Sunday. The Oilers entered the game as massive favorites and got off to a dream start when Skinner bagged his first goal for the team with only 1:16 on the clock, but the Flames crushed their neighbors with a three-goal third period. It was another disappointing result for the Oilers but a big game for Skinner from a fantasy perspective. He led all skaters with six shots on goal and delivered two hits. The veteran winger boasts two points (one goal, one assist) through his first three games as an Oiler. There should be much more to come from him after Skinner was promoted to the Connor McDavid line on Sunday.

Jeff Skinner Records Seventh Career Hat Trick

Buffalo Sabres left wing Jeff Skinner had one of his biggest performances of the season on Monday versus Seattle, netting his seventh career hat trick in a 6-2 win. He scored an even-strength goal in each period, completing the three-goal game with two minutes left to play. With the outing, Skinner matched the goals tally of his previous 12 appearances. He's massively struggled during the second half of the season and sits on only 45 points (24 goals, 21 assists) through 61 games. However, Monday's hat trick -- his third with the Sabres -- should be a morale-booster for Skinner, and a few more productive outings should definitely put him back in the fold for a top-six position.

Jeff Skinner Returns To Action Tuesday

Buffalo Sabres left wing Jeff Skinner (upper body) has been activated from Injured Reserve and will get back to work on Tuesday versus Anaheim. Skinner has missed the past five games while battling an upper-body problem. He's set to rejoin the first line and should also skate on the first power-play unit. The 31-year-old is one of Buffalo's most dangerous offensive weapons, totaling 17 goals and 16 assists in 38 appearances this season.

Jeff Skinner Week-To-Week With Upper-Body Injury

Buffalo Sabres forward Jeff Skinner is out week to week with an upper-body injury. Skinner suffered the injury during Tuesday's 5-2 loss to the Seattle Kraken. He skated 15:42 in the contest and logged a goal and an assist on three shots before his injury. It's been a nice season for the veteran who has tallied 17 goals and 33 points on the season, second-most on the Sabres behind center Casey Mittelstadt. It's the second time this season that Skinner has missed time with an upper-body ailment as he missed three games in mid-December following a hard hit by Avalanche superstar Nathan MacKinnon. Fantasy owners should simply set Skinner on the IR instead of cutting ties altogether.

Jeff Skinner Amasses Four Points Versus Montreal

Buffalo Sabres left wing Jeff Skinner was on fire against the Canadiens on Thursday, posting one goal and three assists in a 6-1 victory. Following a goalless opening period, the Sabres struck twice on the power play in quick succession, with Skinner playing a part in both goals. He added a couple of even-strength assists in the third period. The 31-year-old is leading the way in goals for the Sabres, having lit the lamp 16 times, and Skinner boasts 31 points in total with 38 games played. He's started to build a scoring streak with his most recent outings, getting at least one point in three consecutive games.

Jeff Skinner, Jordan Greenway On Track To Return For Sabres Thursday

Buffalo Sabres wingers Jeff Skinner (upper body) and Jordan Greenway (upper body) are poised to return to the lineup for Thursday's matchup against Toronto. Both players have been activated from Injured Reserve ahead of the clash. Greenway has been absent for nine games, while Skinner has missed the last three. The latter is definitely the bigger piece for Buffalo and is set to rejoin the top line and the first power-play unit on Thursday. However, Greenway will also add some two-way quality to the team's third line. Tyson Jost and Victor Olofsson are set to come out of the lineup on Thursday to make room for Skinner and Greenway.

Jeff Skinner Could Return Thursday

Buffalo Sabres left winger Jeff Skinner (upper body) could be back in the lineup Thursday when the club plays host to the Toronto Maple Leafs. Skinner has missed the last three games after sustaining an upper-body injury on a hit by Avalanche superstar Nathan MacKinnon on Dec. 13. "I feel good," Skinner said on Wednesday. "I thought it was a good practice." It's been a solid season for the veteran, who has notched 12 goals and 22 points across 30 games with a hefty 107 shots on goal in that time. He is coming off a career year that saw him tally 35 goals and a career-high 82 points across 79 games while getting 242 pucks on goal. He practiced on the top line with Tage Thompson and Alex Tuch on Wednesday.

Jeff Skinner Sustains An Upper-Body Injury

Buffalo Sabres left wing Jeff Skinner couldn't complete Wednesday's meeting with Colorado due to an upper-body injury. He was hurt on a hit by Nathan MacKinnon and exited after logging only 7:57 of ice time. The Sabres have failed to match their offensive production from last year and might now have to be without one of their top scorers. Skinner is tied for the team lead with 12 goals and has amassed 22 points in total across 30 games.

Jeff Skinner Scores On Power Play Monday

Buffalo Sabres left wing Jeff Skinner tallied the team's lone goal in Monday's 3-1 home defeat against Montreal, scoring on the power play in the first period. He tied the game with his third goal of the campaign, but the Sabres' offense was unusually quiet, and the visitors escaped further damage. Following a couple of pointless efforts, Skinner has started to heat up, notching all of his four points this season in the last four games. Facing the Canadiens is probably one of his favorite things in the world, as Skinner has potted 24 goals in 39 career games against Montreal, which is by far his best tally against any opposition.

Jeff Skinner Leads Buffalo To Victory Friday

Buffalo Sabres left wing Jeff Skinner produced a game-high three points in Friday's 5-2 win over Columbus. He notched his 35th goal of the season and handed out two assists. Skinner had a huge finish to the season with back-to-back three-point efforts. 2022-23 turned out to be a career year for him, as the 30-year-old posted 82 points in 79 outings. The Sabres missed the playoffs again but looked much better compared to the previous campaign, and they will be looking to take another step forward in 2023-24. Skinner should play a key role again for the team next season.

Jeff Skinner Scores Game-Winning Goal In Overtime

Buffalo Sabres left wing Jeff Skinner scored the game-winning goal in Friday's 3-2 overtime victory against the Rangers. Skinner's 32nd goal of the season came less than two minutes into the extra frame, as the veteran forward drove to the net and got the puck past Rangers goaltender Jaroslav Halak. Skinner is having a career-best season with 71 points through 71 games to rank second on the team in scoring and he remains a quality forward option on a young team with potential to end their playoff drought next season.

Jeff Skinner Extends Point Streak With Two Goals

Buffalo Sabres left wing Jeff Skinner provided two goals in Friday's 3-1 win over Florida to extend his point streak to five games. He has produced three multi-point performances during the streak. The veteran forward has heated up in a hurry after slumping for a bit at the start of the month. Sitting on 24 goals and 34 assists, Skinner is now just five points short of matching his last season's scoring total and his recent form suggests that he will blow past the 63-point mark very soon.

Jeff Skinner Returns With Three Points

Buffalo Sabres left wing Jeff Skinner produced a great performance in his return from suspension, recording two goals and an assist in a 5-2 win over Arizona. He scored the team's first two goals and bagged an assist when Kyle Okposo, who returned from a lower-body injury, scored with the net empty late in the game. The suspension forced Skinner to miss three games during a hot stretch, but it appears that it didn't have any effect on his form. Skinner has played some superb stuff this month, racking up 12 points in five December appearances. Dating back to November, Skinner has collected points in each of his last seven outings, and he's now become the 12th player this season to post at least 15 goals and 20 assists.

Jeff Skinner Suspended For Three Games

Buffalo Sabes winger Jeff Skinner won't be available for Saturday's meeting with the Penguins and has to sit out three games in total because of a suspension. He's getting punished for cross-checking Pittsburgh's Jake Guentzel in Friday's clash. It's the second suspension of Skinner's career and his first since 2012. In Skinner, the Sabres lose a red-hot player who has exploded for nine points in four December appearances. The 30-year-old has had his fair share of struggles in Buffalo, but he's on track for a career year in 2022-23, having recorded 32 points in 27 games so far. Skinner will be eligible to return to action next Saturday against Arizona.

Jeff Skinner Grabs Two Goals Against Washington

Buffalo Sabres left wing Jeff Skinner potted two goals in Friday's 4-3 shootout defeat to Washington. He tied the game twice and reached 26 goals for the campaign. This was Skinner's fifth multi-goal game of the season and only four players have managed more. The 29-year-old has left a lot of fantasy managers disappointed over the past two seasons, but he's been back in form in 2021-22 with 45 points in 63 games and has a decent chance to post his fourth 60-point year. Skinner has built himself a three-game point streak ahead of Sunday's clash with the Rangers.
