Klim Kostin News
Edmonton Oilers winger Klim Kostin (illness) appears on track to return to the lineup Monday versus Boston. The Russian winger has been unavailable for five games with a non-COVID illness, but he has been back in practice and should be available again against the Bruins. Kostin has had a very limited role with the Oilers, averaging only 10:39 of ice time per game, but he is slated to return on a line with Leon Draisaitl and Zach Hyman, which puts him in a great position to perform. The 23-year-old has so far skated in 38 games this season, scoring nine goals and handing out five assists.
Edmonton Oilers winger Klim Kostin provided two goals as the team picked apart the Ducks on Wednesday in a 6-2 victory. He closed out a four-goal opening period for the Oilers with an unassisted effort and also notched the team's fifth goal when Mattias Janmark and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins set him up in the second. After spending some time with Connor McDavid, Kostin was on back on Nugent-Hopkins' line Wednesday, logging 15:17 of ice time. The 23-year-old seemingly took a lesser role, but he actually logged season-high minutes. Kostin is mostly a physical presence in the Edmonton lineup, with 54 hits recorded in 27 games, but he has also popped up with seven goals and 11 points in very limited playing time.
St. Louis Blues forward Klim Kostin will join the first line for Saturday's home game against the Kings, with Brandon Saad (COVID protocols) ruled out for the contest. The 22-year-old will get his third appearance of the season. Kostin has been a busy boy so far with two goals, six shots and eight hits. The Kings will be without Drew Doughty (lower body), which will significantly weaken their defense, giving Kostin a good opportunity to impress even further. He started the year with a bang by scoring twice in his season debut.
St. Louis Blues forward Klim Kostin had a productive season debut in Monday's clash with Arizona, helping the team to a 7-4 victory by scoring two goals inside 47 seconds in the second period. The 22-year-old Russian produced three shots in total, and his second marker ended up as the game-winning goal. Kostin also delivered three hits in 11 minutes of action. The 31st pick of the 2017 NHL draft now has three goals in seven career games in the NHL. However, he is only a fourth-liner on the team, so fantasy managers shouldn't expect him to shine every night.
