Martin Jones Gets The Nod Monday

Seattle Kraken goaltender Martin Jones will be the team's starter for Monday's matchup against Dallas. The 33-year-old will earn his 38th start of the campaign, entering the matchup with a 24-10-3 record. Jones has made only two appearances this month, as Philipp Grubauer has battled back the starter's position. He should be eager to fight back his place after carrying the team earlier in the season. Jones has a lowly .890 save percentage with a 2.98 goals-against average but boasts three shutouts for the season. Dallas has scored 3.41 goals per game for the season, so Jones has to be at his very best to improve his numbers Monday.

Martin Jones Starts Friday Against Calgary

Seattle Kraken goaltender Martin Jones recorded a solid performance in his last outing, securing a win against the Vancouver Canucks by stopping 19 out of 20 shots. This game marked Jones' ninth win in his last ten starts, further solidifying his status as one of the best goalies in the league. He has an impressive 23-6-3 record, despite having an average save percentage of .895 and a goals-against-average of 2.78. Jones will face off against the Calgary Flames, who currently rank second in shots on goal.

Martin Jones Between The Pipes Wednesday for Seattle

Seattle Kraken goalie Martin Jones had a solid outing in his last start, picking up his seventh win in eight games after only allowing three goals on 30 shots against New Jersey. However, despite his impressive record of 22-6-3, Jones has been average otherwise, sporting a .894 save percentage and a 2.84 goals-against average. In addition, he has a 0-1-1 record against Wednesday's opponent, the Vancouver Canucks, who are 4-5-1 in their last ten contests.

Martin Jones Records A Second Consecutive Shutout

Seattle Kraken goaltender Martin Jones made it back-to-back shutouts for himself on Thursday when the team ended Boston's season-opening home point streak at 22 games with a 3-0 victory. Brandon Tanev, Eeli Tolvanen and Jaden Schwartz brought the offense, while Jones frustrated the Bruins with 27 saves. He recorded back-to-back shutouts for the first time since 2015 and became the first Kraken goaltender to record consecutive shutouts. The big performance helped Jones to remain undefeated in six January starts. Jones has had a few very rough campaigns, but he appears to find himself in a comfortable situation in Seattle, posting a 20-5-3 record with three shutouts in total. Only two goaltenders have more wins this season, although Jones' 2.69 goals-against average and .898 save percentage still have plenty of room for improvement.

Martin Jones Returns With A Shutout

Seattle Kraken goaltender Martin Jones was back in action Thursday after sitting out one game for personal reasons, and he was able to produce his first shutout of the season with 22 saves in a 4-0 victory over Minnesota. Jones became the third goalie in the Kraken's short history to get a shutout. It's his 26th career shutout and his first since April 2, 2021. Seattle will definitely need more of the same in the upcoming games, as Philipp Grubauer (lower body) and Chris Driedger (knee) are out of commission. Jones is a very risky fantasy option, but he's carrying some good form right now with three wins in four appearances and could definitely help out some managers. His record for the season stands at 5-3-1 with a 2.69 goals-against average and a .893 save percentage.

Martin Jones Misses Tuesday's Game

Seattle Kraken goaltender Martin Jones won't be available for Tuesday's clash with Calgary for personal reasons. He is dealing with a family matter and Jones' absence will give Joey Daccord his season debut. The Kraken are also currently without Philipp Grubauer (lower body) and Chris Driedger (knee), and Christopher Gibson has been summoned from the minors to serve as Daccord's backup. The former Senator is carrying a miserable 1-8-1 record in the NHL, but Daccord was one of the AHL's top goalies last season. Seattle has tightened up the defense a lot this season, allowing only 26.1 shots per game, so Daccord can expect to get plenty of support against one of the top dogs of the league.

Martin Jones Gets Another Start With Carter Hart Injured

Philadelphia Flyers goaltender Martin Jones will get a second consecutive start on Tuesday against Minnesota. He'll try to bounce back after five pucks flew past him with 35 shots on Sunday in a 5-4 defeat to Nashville. Jones is getting another start because Carter Hart is dealing with a nagging injury. The team expects him to be available again at the weekend. Felix Sandstrom will back up Jones on Tuesday. The former Shark kicked off the campaign with three consecutive wins, but he's since then managed just five more wins in 21 starts. Jones owns a decent .901 save percentage, but his goals-against average stands at 3.38 and a meeting with the league's fourth-best offense likely won't do any good to it.

Martin Jones In Starter's Net For Philadelphia Saturday

Philadelphia Flyers goaltender Martin Jones will start in goal against the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday night. Jones has been a pleasant surprise for the most part this season for the Flyers. The goalie has six wins and three straight wins (eight goals allowed on 99 shots). While Carter Hart recovers from COVID, Jones has stepped up and helped keep the Flyers treading water. Saturday will not be easy as Los Angeles is 6-3-1 in their last ten games. Jones, from his days with San Jose, is quite familiar with the Kings at least.

Martin Jones Stands Tall In Overtime Win Wednesday

Philadelphia Flyers goaltender Martin Jones benefitted from the long break and it showed on Wednesday night versus the Seattle Kraken. Jones flashed the form fantasy owners saw in the first month of the regular season during the 3-2 overtime win. He stopped 34 of 36 shots including some quality saves in the final moments. This was Jones' third straight win as he has allowed just eight goals on 99 shots during this run. He now has a record of 6-4-1 in 11 decisions on the season and his save percentage is again creeping closer to the .910 mark.

Martin Jones Holds Down The Fort Wednesday Night

Philadelphia Flyers goaltender Martin Jones will get his 11th start of the campaign on Wednesday against the Kraken, heading into the matchup with a 5-4-1 record. The former Shark has heated up lately with back-to-back wins, although he's given up three goals in both victories. Jones' goals-against average for the season stands at 3.33, and he's produced a .907 save percentage. Seattle hasn't done too well this season, but this still looks like a pretty tough matchup for Jones because Philly will be without a number of players because of COVID-19 protocols. Starting goaltender Carter Hart is also among them, meaning Jones could see a lot of action before 2022 comes around.

Martin Jones Makes His 10th Start With Carter Hart Sick

Philadelphia Flyers goaltender Martin Jones will log his 10th start of the season on Saturday against the Senators, with Carter Hart feeling sick and sitting out the game. Jones had a pretty good spell in the Flyers crease at the start of the season with three consecutive wins, but he's added only one more win to his tally. That came in his last start against Arizona when he stopped 29 of 32 shots. Jones' record stands at 4-4-1, and he's registered a 3.37 goals-against average with a .908 save percentage. Both teams have done well lately and it looks like a pretty unpredictable matchup, but the home-ice advantage could be key here for Jones and the Flyers.

Martin Jones Gets Start Saturday Versus Arizona

Philadelphia Flyers goaltender Martin Jones will start in Arizona on Saturday night against the Coyotes. Carter Hart was able to outlast the Vegas Golden Knights on Friday but needed a rest after seeing more than 40 shots on goal. It is safe to say that Jones has been roughed up allowing 18 goals in his last three starts (0-3-1 record). He needs a good start in the worst way. The 2-1 loss to Florida may have hurt Jones' psyche more than anyone realizes. He just has not looked the same since and Saturday could be a real litmus test as far as this latest downturn.

Martin Jones In Goal As Flyers Start New Era

Philadelphia Flyers goaltender Martin Jones will start Monday's clash with Colorado, which will be the team's first game since the firing of head coach Alain Vigneault. Assistant coach Mike Yeo will be in charge on Monday. Vigneault's reign ended with a heavy 7-1 loss to Tampa on Sunday. Jones made a relief appearance in the contest, allowing two goals on 12 shots. He'll be getting his eighth start of the season on Monday, facing the Avalanche with a 3-3-1 record. The former Shark has registered a 2.94 goals-against average with a .917 save percentage. The 31-year-old has done some decent work, but the team has dropped eight games on the spin and it won't be easy to get back on track.

Martin Jones Succumbs To Late New Jersey Wave Sunday

Philadelphia Flyers goaltender Martin Jones stood tall in net for two-plus periods on Sunday, allowing just a couple of goals. That included a second period where New Jersey had 13 high-danger scoring chances. Then Andreas Johnsson and Jesper Bratt happened again. It was their second connection that made the game 3-2 in favor of New Jersey. Jones never fully recovered, and neither did Philadelphia. Nathan Bastian would add his second goal of the season just a bit over two minutes later. Jones allowed four goals on 34 shots Sunday. Philadelphia next plays Wednesday against the Rangers, and Carter Hart will start.

Martin Jones Starts Versus New Jersey On Sunday

Philadelphia Flyers goaltender Martin Jones will be in goal against the New Jersey Devils on Sunday night. Jones has enjoyed a resurgence of sorts as he has four quality starts in is games. He has faced a large volume of shots (219) and stopped 203 so far. That is good for a .927 save percentage and a 2.67 goals-against average. His road numbers are much better than the home version. He yields just two goals a game away from home and sports a 2-1-1 record. New Jersey is a team that struggles at home at times and Philadelphia sorely needs a win. Jones could be the difference Sunday.

Martin Jones Starts Versus Boston on Saturday

Philadelphia Flyers goaltender Martin Jones will start on Saturday night against the Boston Bruins. Jones nabs the home start on the strength of a 3-1 opening to the 2021-22 season. Also, this is to give Carter Hart a breather. Jones has a goals-against average of 2.27 and a save percentage of .931. For a goalie to have 37 "Really Bad Starts", Jones has not had one so far this season. He has looked nothing like the goalie the San Jose Sharks had seen the past several years.

Martin Jones Makes First Appearance Of The Season

Philadelphia Flyers goaltender Martin Jones will make his first start of the campaign in Wednesday's home game against the Bruins. The 31-year-old will hope that a change of scenery can help him improve his form. Jones, who spent the last six years in San Jose, has posted three consecutive seasons with a below .900 save percentage. He also recorded a career-worst 3.28 goals-against average last season, while going 15-13-4. Stopping the Bruins will take some doing, and Jones has had a miserable time against them throughout his career, picking up just one win in seven outings, while giving up over four goals per game (4.09).

Martin Jones To Make Flyers Debut On Wednesday

Philadelphia Flyers goaltender Martin Jones will make his season debut in between the pipes when the Boston Bruins come to town on Wednesday. The 31-year-old, who signed a one-year, $2 million contract with the Flyers over the offseason, is looking to right the ship on a career that has taken a bit of downward turn with the Sharks in recent seasons. Coming off three straight seasons of having posted a .896 save percentage, Jones went undrafted in most fantasy leagues (4% owned in Yahoo!) but could be a bounce-back candidate with lowered expectations as a back-up. In the mean-time, keep an eye on Jones as a potential streaming option.

Martin Jones Will Be Leaving San Jose After Six Seasons

San Jose Sharks decided to part ways with goaltender Martin Jones on Tuesday. The Sharks bought out the remaining three years of his contract that otherwise would have been a cap hit of $5.75 million. He will become an unrestricted free agent come Wednesday. Jones appeared in 34 games sporting a 15-13-4 record with a .896 save percentage and a 3.28 goals-against-average in 2021. If a team is desperate for a goalie, the 31-year-old could fight a starting role on some teams in the league. However, he will most likely settle in as a backup somewhere, making him not a hot commodity for fantasy managers to draft for the upcoming year.

Martin Jones Gets The Nod On Monday

San Jose Sharks goaltender Martin Jones will be the team's starter for Monday's home game against Colorado. The 31-year-old has played second fiddle to Josef Korenar lately as this will be only his second start in seven games. Jones carries a 15-13-3 record for the season with a 3.22 goals-against average, a .898 save percentage and one shutout. He's had his moments, but you have to go all the way back to April 9 to find his last winning effort. The Avalanche are a nightmare to play against, so Jones is likely in for a long night here. Colorado leads the league in goals per game (3.49) and shots per game (34.8).
