Nicolas Aube-Kubel Ready To Rejoin Sabres Lineup

Buffalo Sabres right wing Nicolas Aube-Kubel (lower body) will rejoin the action on Monday versus Florida. He has been unavailable since sustaining a lower-body injury in Buffalo's season opener on Oct. 4. Aube-Kubel has notched 78 points (31 goals, 47 assists) in 282 career appearances. While he has struggled to be a consistent offensive threat, he may have a greater impact on Monday, as the 28-year-old is expected to skate on the second line. Aube-Kubel will be accompanied by talented youngsters Dylan Cozens and Jack Quinn.

Nicolas Aube-Kubel Ruled Out For 3-6 Weeks

Buffalo Sabres right wing Nicolas Aube-Kubel (lower body) has been ruled out for 3-6 weeks. The 28-year-old was injured last week as the Sabres kicked off their 2024-25 NHL campaign with a pair of games against the New Jersey Devils in Europe. Buffalo placed Aube-Kubel on Injured Reserve on Monday. Peyton Krebs replaced him in the lineup at the weekend but skated on the top line in Tuesday's practice. The Sabres also have wingers JJ Peterka (concussion) and Zach Benson (lower body) battling injuries. If at least one of them will be ready to play against Los Angeles on Thursday, Krebs will likely drop back down to the fourth line, where he will have zero fantasy value.

Nicolas Aube-Kubel Out With A Lower-Body Injury

Buffalo Sabres right wing Nicolas Aube-Kubel (lower body) sat out Saturday's rematch with the New Jersey Devils. Aube-Kubel suffered a lower-body injury against the Devils on Friday, missing the third period. Peyton Krebs filled in for Aube-Kubel on the fourth line in Saturday's 3-1 loss, recording one shot on goal and one hit across 14:11 of action. He could remain in the spot when Buffalo resumes the action on Thursday versus the L.A. Kings. Krebs finished last season with 17 points (four goals, 13 assists) in 80 games while averaging 12:30 of ice time.

Nicolas Aube-Kubel Receives A Three-Game Suspension

Washington Capitals winger Nicolas Aube-Kubel has been suspended for three games following his actions in Friday's meeting with Tampa Bay. Aube-Kubel delivered Tampa Bay's Cal Foote a check to the head early in the second period, earning himself an ejection and a match penalty, which prompted an automatic suspension. The Frenchman won't be able to return to action before next Saturday's clash with Colorado, and his three-game suspension includes a rematch with Tampa Bay. Aube-Kubel, who played against the Lightning with the Avalanche in last season's Stanley Cup Finals, has been with Washington for only a week after getting waived by Toronto.
