He has been unavailable since sustaining a lower-body injury in Buffalo's season opener on Oct. 4. Aube-Kubel has notched 78 points (31 goals, 47 assists) in 282 career appearances. While he has struggled to be a consistent offensive threat, he may have a greater impact on Monday, as the 28-year-old is expected to skate on the second line. Aube-Kubel will be accompanied by talented youngsters Dylan Cozens and Jack Quinn.

Washington Capitals winger Nicolas Aube-Kubel has been suspended for three games following his actions in Friday's meeting with Tampa Bay. Aube-Kubel delivered Tampa Bay's Cal Foote a check to the head early in the second period, earning himself an ejection and a match penalty, which prompted an automatic suspension. The Frenchman won't be able to return to action before next Saturday's clash with Colorado, and his three-game suspension includes a rematch with Tampa Bay. Aube-Kubel, who played against the Lightning with the Avalanche in last season's Stanley Cup Finals, has been with Washington for only a week after getting waived by Toronto.
