Petr Mrazek Out 2-3 Weeks

Anaheim Ducks goaltender Petr Mrazek (lower body) will miss 2-3 weeks. He was initially labeled as day-to-day after Mrazek suffered a lower-body injury on Sunday night against the Chicago Blackhawks. Lukas Dostal (upper body) will also be on the shelf for at least 1-2 more weeks, meaning Anaheim must lean on Ville Husso in the crease. The Finnish netminder is penciled in for his second consecutive start on Wednesday against the Utah Mammoth. On Monday night, Husso beat his former team, the St. Louis Blues, 4-1 with 21 saves. He owns a 2-1-0 record for the season but has saved only 44 of 50 shots, giving him a save percentage of .880.

Petr Mrazek Considered Day-to-Day

Anaheim Ducks goaltender Petr Mrazek (lower body) is considered day-to-day, Zach Cavanagh of The Sporting Tribune reports. The veteran netminder was injured in Sunday's loss to the Chicago Blackhawks, but he isn't expected to be out long-term. That's great news for the Ducks, who have lost Lukas Dostal (upper body) for several weeks. Ville Husso started Monday's 4-1 win over the St. Louis Blues, while Vyacheslav Buteyets has been brought up from the AHL to add depth in the goalie department. It's possible the team won't need Buteyets' services if Mrazek heals quickly. Anaheim's next game is scheduled for Wednesday against the Utah Mammoth.

Petr Mrazek Injured in Sunday's Loss

Anaheim Ducks goaltender Petr Mrazek (undisclosed) missed the end of Sunday's 5-3 loss to the Chicago Blackhawks. Ville Husso replaced Mrazek after he sustained an undisclosed injury. Mrazek coughed up a three-goal lead in the contest, saving 23 of 26 shots. Anaheim recently lost its starting netminder, Lukas Dostal (upper body), for a few weeks, so the team will be facing an injury crisis in the crease if Mrazek has to miss significant time. The Czech veteran holds a 3-3-0 record for the season, allowing 3.69 goals with a .876 save percentage.

Petr Mrazek Heads to Anaheim

Goaltender Petr Mrazek has been traded from the Detroit Red Wings to the Anaheim Ducks. Anaheim picked him up in a deal that sent the team's longtime No. 1 goaltender, John Gibson, to Motown. The Ducks also received a 2027 second-round pick and a 2026 fourth-round pick in the transaction. This season, Mrazek rejoined the Red Wings for the second time in his career when the Chicago Blackhawks traded him in March. The Czech veteran compiled a 12-21-2 record during a challenging season, allowing 3.35 goals with a .891 save percentage. Mrazek is expected to begin the 2025-26 season as Anaheim's backup goalie behind compatriot Lukas Dostal.

Petr Mrazek Exits On Monday

Detroit Red Wings goaltender Petr Mrazek (undisclosed) exited early during Monday's contest against the Utah Hockey Club. Mrazek suffered this injury during the second minute of the opening frame. He only stopped one shot before being replaced by Alex Lyon. Fantasy managers should monitor his status as the Red Wings will play in the second half of their back-to-back on Tuesday evening in Colorado. However, given the potential extent of the injury, Lyon or Cam Talbot will likely get the starting nod. Before Monday, Mrazek held a 2-2 record with a modest .901 save percentage and a 2.51 GAA over his last four contests. Through 38 games this season, the 33-year-old has posted a 12-21-2 record with an underwhelming 3.35 GAA and a .891 save percentage.

Petr Mrazek Starting On Wednesday

Detroit Red Wings goaltender Petr Mrazek is expected to get the starting nod on Wednesday evening when the Red Wings host the Buffalo Sabres. Mrazek was traded to the Red Wings from the Chicago Blackhawks prior to the Trade Deadline. Mrazek began his NHL career in Detroit and will look to lead them to a playoff birth. Earlier this season, Mrazek has held a modest 10-19-2 record with the Blackhawks. Across 33 games, he has held a modest 3.46 GAA with a .890 save percentage. This is a slight decline compared to the 18-31-4 record and the 3.04 GAA and .907 save percentage he posted during the 2023 campaign. Fantasy managers should expect Mrazek to split time in the crease alongside Alex Lyon and Cam Talbot. He is a viable play in DFS this evening facing the Sabres who are at the bottom of the Eastern Conference.

Petr Mrazek In Blackhawks Crease Sunday

Chicago Blackhawks goaltender Petr Mrazek will aim to register his 10th victory of the season in Sunday's clash against the Minnesota Wild. Mrazek is 9-16-2 for the campaign with a 3.26 goals-against average and a .896 save percentage. In his last start, Mrazek suffered a 4-3 overtime defeat against the Carolina Hurricane, despite producing 44 saves. He has won only twice since December. There hasn't been much joy for Mrazek in 2024-25, but he has done well against Minnesota, posting a 1-1-0 record and allowing only four goals.

Petr Mrazek Stands Tall Against Colorado

Chicago Blackhawks goaltender Petr Mrazek stopped 35 of the 36 shots he faced to lead the Blackhawks to an upset victory over the Colorado Avalanche on Wednesday evening. Mrazek's lone blemish came in the opening frame when Juuso Parssinen scored an unassisted backhand goal. This performance also snapped a three-game losing streak for Mrazek. During this losing streak, he allowed 15 goals with a poor.779% SV. This was his first game since November 21, where he only allowed one goal or less in a single start. Overall, across 24 appearances, the veteran holds an 8-14-1 record with a 3.13 GAA and a .897% SV. Given his inconsistent play this season, he should only be started in deeper formats.

Petr Mrazek Activated From Injured Reserve

Chicago Blackhawks goaltender Petr Mrazek (groin) has been activated from Injured Reserve ahead of Thursday's contest against Seattle. He's set to rejoin the lineup following a five-game absence, although Arvid Soderblom will be the starter in the crease. Both netminders have played well for the Blackhawks this season, but the team's lethargic offense has made it tough for them to string together a run of wins. Mrazek carries a 7-11-1 record with a 2.83 goals-against average and a .906 save percentage. Chicago has assigned Drew Commesso to the AHL as a result of Mrazek's return.

Petr Mrazek Placed On injured Reserve

Chicago Blackhawks goaltender Petr Mrazek (groin) has been placed on Injured Reserve. The oft-injured netminder sustained a groin injury in Saturday's matchup against Winnipeg. Mrazek has worked as Chicago's No. 1 between the pipes this season, putting together a 7-11-1 record. He's registered a 2.83 goals-against average with a .906 save percentage. The Blackhawks remain without Laurent Brossoit (knee), meaning Arvid Soderblom, who's gone 1-6-1 so far, will be in line for a lot of extra work. Drew Commesso has been called up from the minors to serve as Soderblom's backup.

Petr Mrazek Bags Overtime Win Versus WIld

Chicago Blackhawks goaltender Petr Mrazek had a strong outing against the Minnesota Wild on Sunday, kicking away 31 of 32 shots in a 2-1 overtime win. The Czech netminder came very close to his first shutout of the campaign, as Matt Boldy scored for Minnesota with only 4:31 left in regulation. The red-hot Wild were limited to fewer than three goals for only the fourth time this season. Mrazek has picked up some form lately but has been flipping between wins and losses for six starts. He has taken his record to 5-7-0 and boasts a 2.85 goals-against average with a .905 save percentage. These are good numbers from Mrazek, but he's carrying a losing record because the team offense struggles. There are only five teams in the league averaging fewer goals than Chicago.

Petr Mrazek Between The Pipes Wednesday

Chicago Blackhawks goaltender Petr Mrazek will be between the pipes when he hits the road to take on the St. Louis Blues. It's his sixth start over the last eight games as he will take over from youngster Arvid Soderblom who dropped a 4-0 decision in the team's last game against the Minnesota Wild. It's been a respectable season for Mrazek considering the weak team he plays behind as he sports a 3.01 goals-against average and a .908 save percentage across 53 outings (50 starts), going 18-28-4 in that time. His 7.13 goals saved above average rank 21st of 71 qualified netminders, according to Hockey Reference. The club has a decent shot at landing the No. 1 overall pick for the second straight year as they sit second-last in the NHL with 51 points with five games to go.

Petr Mrazek Takes On Red Wings Sunday

Chicago Blackhawks goaltender Petr Mrazek will face the Detroit Red Wings in his 39th start of the season on Sunday. The veteran netminder will look to improve a 13-22-3 record, entering the matchup with a 2.99 goals-against average and a .909 save percentage. It's been a challenging campaign for Mrazek, and recent times have been especially rough for him, as the former Red Wing has lost eight of his last nine starts. With the Red Wings on a hot streak of four consecutive wins, things likely won't end well for Mrazek on Sunday, either.

Petr Mrazek Likely Starting Wednesday Versus Wild

Chicago Blackhawks goaltender Petr Mrazek is the likely starter for Wednesday night's contest against the visiting Minnesota Wild. The veteran worked in the starter's crease in Wednesday's morning skate, indicating he will indeed get the starting nod. Recently rewarded with a two-year contract extension, Mrazke has enjoyed a bounce-back season that has seen him post a 2.92 goals-against average and a .910 save percentage across 34 games on a 32-ranked Blackhawks team. For context, his 6.41 goals saved above average ranks 15th of 69 qualified netminders. The injury-plagued Blackhawks are just 14-34-2 on the season and are currently in line to boast the first overall draft pick for the second straight season.

Petr Mrazek Inks Two-Year Extension With Blackhawks

Chicago Blackhawks goaltender Petr Mrazek has signed a two-year, $8.5 million extension with the club that carries an average annual value of $4.25 million. The veteran has been solid for a poor Blackhawks team this season, turning in a .907 save percentage across 32 games (30 outings), matching his career .907 Sv% across 366 regular-season games. Additionally, Mrazek's 3.62 goals saved above average ranks 23rd of 67 qualified goaltenders, as per Hockey Reference. It's a nice bounce-back season for the 31-year-old who posted a 3.66 goals-against average and .894 Sv% in his first season with the Blackhawks last season. He will continue to mentor young netminder Arvid Soderblom for the next couple of seasons.

Petr Mrazek Excellent In Season-Opening Win Tuesday

Chicago Blackhawks goaltender Petr Mrazek put forth a stellar effort on Tuesday night as his team earned an upset victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins. The veteran netminder turned aside 38 of 40 shots on the evening while his club rallied from a 2-0 deficit to take down the Penguins by a 4-2 final. Despite the impressive season debut, fantasy managers will want to pump the brakes on adding Mrazek, even in the deepest of leagues. While the 31-year-old will see the lion's share of starts over Arvid Soderblom this season, he also posted a 3.66 goals-against average and .894 save percentage with the Blackhawks last season, his second consecutive poor season between the pipes. While the Blackhawks were impressive on opening night, Mrazek is unlikely to rack up many wins behind a young Blackhawks club.

Petr Mrazek Starts Season Opener For Blackhawks

Chicago Blackhawks goaltender Petr Mrazek will guard the crease on opening night against Pittsburgh on Tuesday. The 31-year-old kicks off his second campaign in Chicago after going 10-22-3 with the Blackhawks in 2022-23. Mrazek has been a solid goaltender throughout his NHL career, but he's landed on a rebuilding team, and it's a very tough task for him to please fantasy managers. He ended up finishing last season with a 3.66 goals-against average and a .894 save percentage. Facing off against Sidney Crosby's crew definitely isn't a walk in the park either for Mrazek, who has a 4-5-1 career record against the Penguins.

Petr Mrazek Between The Pipes Versus Blues

Chicago Blackhawks goaltender Petr Mrazek faced 30 shots and allowed three goals, resulting in his sixth-straight loss in his last outing. The 31-year-old has had a challenging season, struggling to maintain his form with a record of 8-20-3, a 3.61 goals-against average, and a .896 save percentage. Tuesday, he meets the St. Louis Blues, who have won three of their last four games, including a thrilling 6-5 overtime victory over the Vancouver Canucks on Tuesday.

Petr Mrazek Goes Down With Another Groin Injury

Chicago Blackhawks goaltender Petr Mrazek saw his bad luck with groin injuries continue on Tuesday against Boston, as he was forced to exit the game in the second period. The Czech netminder had a great time against the league leaders, saving all 16 shots he faced, but his night turned sour with the injury. Luckily, Chicago head coach Luke Richardson suggested after the game that the injury is not as severe as Mrazek's prior groin issues. However, he added that Mrazek likely won't join the team for the start of its five-game road trip that kicks off in Nashville Thursday. Mrazek has struggled with injuries and form all season long, going 8-19-3 with a 3.63 goals-against average and a .895 save percentage. Alex Stalock, who came in as relief Tuesday and helped the team to a very impressive 6-3 victory, has done much better and should now get more opportunities to play.

Petr Mrazek Falls Short In Loss To Panthers

Chicago Blackhawks goaltender Petr Mrazek stopped 39-of-43 shots on goal in Friday's 4-3 overtime loss against the Panthers. Mrazek did not allow a goal heading into the third period, but the Panthers scored three times in a row to take a lead after trailing for the majority of the game. Mrazek has failed to pick up a win in four consecutive games and has been outplayed by Blackhawks goaltender Alex Stalock. With the team currently sitting near the bottom of the standings and struggling to win games, Mrazek is not a recommended option for fantasy leagues.
