Beckett Sennecke Ruled Out For 6-8 Weeks

Anaheim Ducks winger Beckett Sennecke (foot) has been ruled out for 6-8 weeks after he suffered a foot fracture during offseason training. Sennecke was the third pick in this year's draft. The 18-year-old signed an entry-level deal with the Ducks in July. However, the injury means that he will have to wait for his debut in the big league. Sennecke has proven himself to be a very skillful playmaker with 76 assists through 124 career OHL appearances with the Oshawa Generals. He's added 47 goals to average close to a point per game with the team.

Trevor Zegras Continues To Draw Trade Interest

Anaheim Ducks center Trevor Zegras continues to generate trade interest, according to The Athletic's Pierre LeBrun. The skilled center saw his name churn through the rumor mill during the 2023-24 season but it appears Ducks general manager Pat Verbeek continues to field calls regarding the American. Zegras had a tough season both from a health and underperformance standpoint in 2023-24 as he notched just six goals and 15 points across 31 games while also dealing with a broken ankle that cost him significant time. The Ducks drafted Zegras with the ninth overall pick of the 2019 NHL Entry Draft and he has collected 55 goals and 154 points across 211 games since.

Mason McTavish Might Be Done For The Season

Anaheim Ducks forward Mason McTavish (knee) could be out for the rest of the season. He has missed three games and Anaheim has three more to come. McTavish's performances have made up one of only a few bright spots for the Ducks during a season filled with frustration. The 21-year-old has totaled 42 points (19 goals, 23 assists) in 64 outings. Following a dry spell, McTavish scored in back-to-back games before landing on the shelf at the start of the month.

Troy Terry Breaks Slump With Three-Point Effort

Anaheim Ducks right wing Troy Terry was finally back to his best in Tuesday's 5-3 win over Calgary, finishing with three points. He ended a seven-game run without a goal and produced two assists. Entering Tuesday's action, Terry had gone scoreless in six of his past seven outings. He's had a long wait to hit the 50-point mark for the season. The 28-year-old has totaled 20 goals and 32 assists in 70 games. Terry will hope to have points in back-to-back games for the first time since February when the Ducks meet up with Seattle on Friday.

Mason McTavish Suffers New Injury Blow

Anaheim Ducks forward Mason McTavish suffered a lower-body injury in Tuesday's 5-3 victory over Calgary. He managed to score in a second consecutive game before being forced to exit the contest after logging 6:32 of ice time. The young forward has had multiple health issues lately, which has badly affected his form. McTavish was Anaheim's top scorer through the first half of the season, but he's gone scoreless in 12 of his last 16 appearances. In 64 games across the campaign, McTavish has tallied 19 goals and 23 assists. Frank Vatrano could rejoin the top six if McTavish is headed for another spell on the sidelines.

Olen Zellweger Scores First NHL Goal Sunday

Anaheim Ducks defenseman Oleg Wellweger scored the first goal of his NHL career as part of his team's 3-2 defeat at the hands of the Vancouver Canucks. The rookie, drafted in the second round of the 2021 NHL Entry Draft, now has four points on 24 shots, along with a minus-five rating, across the first 19 games of his NHL career. He has averaged 18:43 of ice time per game. The 20-year-old has had a big season with AHL San Diego as he has tallied 12 goals and 37 points in 44 games with the Gulls along with 16 penalty minutes and a minus-one rating. He tallied 22 goals and 52 points in 32 games with the WHL's Kamloops Blazers last season and should be a staple in the Ducks' blueline in the 2024-25 campaign.

Trevor Zegras To Return Tuesday

Anaheim Ducks forward Trevor Zegras will make his return to the lineup when the club takes on the Seattle Kraken on Tuesday. The 23-year-old broke his ankle in a 5-3 win over the Nashville Predators on Jan. 9 and has since missed 31 games. He has returned to full practice in recent days. "Just try and help the team in anyway I can," Zegras said on Tuesday. "Obviously watching a lot (of games), mentally it's there, so hopefully [I] can go out and physically be there. That would be good, too." It had been a slow start to the season for Zegras who has just four goals and seven points on 49 shots on goal across 20 games. He tallied at least 61 points in each of the last two seasons. He practiced on the third line between Isac Lundestrom and Brett Leason at Tuesday's morning skate.

Lukas Dostal Dazzles With Shutout Versus Blackhawks

Anaheim Ducks goaltender Lukas Dostal starred with a 29-save shutout against the Blackhawks on Thursday in a 4-0 win. He fended off 12 shots in the first period alone before the Anaheim offense started to click in the season. Dostal became the third rookie netminder in Ducks history to post a shutout, following in the footsteps of John Gibson and Ilya Bryzgalov. The 23-year-old has produced more than a few outstanding performances over the course of the season, but unfortunately, there's not a lot of quality playing in front of him. Dostal continues to carry a losing record with 11-19-1 and has allowed 3.46 goals with a .901 save percentage.

Leo Carlsson  • C  •  Ducks

Leo Carlsson Sustains Another Injury

Anaheim Ducks center Leo Carlsson failed to complete Thursday's 6-0 win over Chicago due to a lower-body injury. He left the game in the second period following a collision with Blackhawks defenseman Alex Vlasic. Carlsson was forced to exit after logging 11:38 of ice time. This was only his third game since returning to the lineup from a concussion. With a couple of previous lower-body injuries also making a mark, Carlsson has been limited to only 43 outings during his rookie campaign. He's notched nine goals with 15 assists. Carlsson's exit from the lineup could give Max Jones a new opportunity to work in the top six, though Trevor Zegras (ankle) would be his natural replacement at center. The latter is close to returning from injury.

Radko Gudas Exits With Upper-Body Injury

Anaheim Ducks defenseman Radko Gudas sustained an upper-body injury against Minnesota on Thursday and had to exit the game early. The hard-hitting rearguard lasted just five minutes in the contest, and his exit left the Ducks without one of their most effective players. Gudas leads Anaheim with a plus-12 rating and is once again among the league leaders in hits, with 213 recorded in 60 games. Offensively, it's also been an above-average season for Gudas, as he's been on track for his fourth 20-point campaign. The 33-year-old has had six goals and 10 assists. Gustav Lindstrom and William Lagesson are candidates to jump into the lineup Friday versus Winnipeg, but neither player can offer what Gudas provides.

Leo Carlsson Might Play Thursday

Anaheim Ducks center Leo Carlsson (concussion) could return Thursday against the Minnesota Wild. Carlsson has missed six games with a concussion suffered in late February, but his condition has improved and he is nearing a return. The rookie has only played 40 games this season due to injuries and load management, but he has racked up 23 points (nine goals, 14 assists) in that time and has looked great while doing it, especially for a 19-year-old. He should be valuable for years to come and is one of the top dynasty assets in fantasy.

Mason McTavish Unsure Of Return On Friday

According to Derek Lee of The Hockey News, Anaheim Ducks forward Mason McTavish (lower body) isn't sure if he will return to action on Friday versus Dallas. McTavish took part in the morning skate but could remain out on Friday, with Ducks head coach Greg Cronin also unsure if McTavish will play against the Stars. The 21-year-old, who sits on 40 points (17 goals, 23 assists) through 52 appearances, has been out for two games. Anaheim could really use some extra bodies in the attack, as Trevor Zegras (ankle) and Leo Carlsson (upper body) will remain out of the lineup on Friday. Max Jones, Brett Leason, and Isac Lundestrom have joined the top six as a result of the injuries.

Troy Terry Could Be Back In Action Friday

Anaheim Ducks right wing Troy Terry (upper body) could return to action on Friday versus Dallas. Ducks head coach Greg Cronin hasn't confirmed his availability, but Terry took part in the morning skate, which is an encouraging sign regarding his potential comeback. Terry has missed three of the last five games with an upper-body injury. He had just heated up with several multi-point efforts before getting hurt. The 26-year-old boasts 17 goals and 46 points in 56 games for the season, posting 19 points across his last 15 appearances.

Alex Killorn Delivers Game-Winner On Wednesday

Anaheim Ducks winger Alex Killorn provided the game-winning goal as the team snuck past Ottawa 2-1 on Wednesday. Killorn scored in a second consecutive contest, finding the back of the net for the 10th time this season early in the third period. Four of Killorn's goals have come since Feb. 17, when he returned to the lineup from a knee injury. It has been a stop-start season for Killorn due to health issues, and he has only made 43 appearances during his debut campaign in Anaheim. The veteran boasts 25 points, meaning Killorn's scoring pace has significantly dropped compared to the last two seasons, but it is right at his career average of 0.58 points per game.

Lukas Dostal Getting The Nod Wednesday

Anaheim Ducks goaltender Lukas Dostal is the starting netminder for Wednesday's game versus the visiting Ottawa Senators. The 23-year-old will make his third straight start over the struggling John Gibson as he stopped 81 of 86 shots (.942 save percentage) over his last two starts against top-10 offenses in the Devils and Canucks, winning a 4-3 decision over New Jersey before a tough-luck 2-1 loss to the NHL-leading Canucks. Despite his recent success, Dostal still owns a subpar 3.61 goals-against average and .902 Sv% across 29 outings (24 starts) on the season, albeit behind a very weak Ducks team. He is a decent streaming option on Wednesday against the last-place Senators but Ottawa still sits 13th with 3.27 goals per game on the season.

Lukas Dostal Sets New Ducks Record With 52 Saves

Anaheim Ducks goaltender Lukas Dostal had a memorable night in the crease on Friday against New Jersey, helping the team to a 4-3 victory with a 52-save effort. It's the most saves a rookie netminder has had in Ducks history in a winning effort. Dostal's special night included an extraordinary finish, as the Devils were awarded a penalty shot with just 2.1 seconds left in regulation. Jack Hughes had a chance to collect his third point of the night and send the game to overtime but couldn't outplay Dostal, who improved to 9-15-1 for the season. He has allowed 3.67 goals with a .900 save percentage. It's been a struggle for Dostal, but it will have made Friday's victory taste even sweeter for Anaheim's young backup.

Mason McTavish Sustains Lower-Body Injury Friday

Anaheim Ducks forward Mason McTavish was knocked out from Friday's matchup against New Jersey by a lower-body injury. He saw only 5:47 of ice time in the contest. Before exiting, McTavish helped Frank Vatrano to open the scoring with his 23rd assist of the season, reaching 40 points for the campaign in his 52nd appearance. The injury leaves McTavish questionable for Sunday's contest against Vancouver. If he can't play, McTavish would exit the lineup in the midst of a hot stretch. He has posted four goals and five assists across his last eight appearances. Isac Lundestrom appears in line to benefit from McTavish's absence after he moved up the lineup following his exit on Friday.

Cam Fowler Forced To Exit Early After Taking Puck To Face

Anaheim Ducks defenseman Cam Fowler was limited to only 21 seconds of action against San Jose on Thursday, leaving the contest after taking a puck to the face. He was bleeding heavily as Fowler headed into the locker room. The Ducks still managed to win the game 6-4, with the rest of the blue-liners playing a big part in the success. Urho Vaakanainen was the lone Ducks defenseman without a point on Thursday. Radko Gudas and Pavel Mintyukov saw the most action on the backline at 28:14 and 26:23, respectively. They will be leaned on heavily again on Friday against New Jersey if Fowler is unavailable.

Trevor Zegras Nearing Return

Anaheim Ducks center Trevor Zegras (ankle) has ditched crushes and is expected to resume on-ice activities soon. He's been out since early January when Zegras broke his left ankle. The talented centerman has struggled for form in 2023-24, registering seven points (four goals, three assists) in 20 games, and we might actually have seen the last of Zegras in a Ducks jersey, as his name has popped up in many trade rumors. The NHL trade deadline is coming up on March 8. Zegras' return to action should come soon after that.

Pavel Mintyukov Registers Three Assists Wednesday

Anaheim Ducks defenseman Pavel Mintyukov had the best offensive outing of his young career on Wednesday versus Columbus, finishing a 7-4 loss with three points. The 20-year-old rookie did all of the scoring with assists, playing a key role in Anaheim's comeback attempt in the second period, which saw the hosts erase a four-goal deficit. Mintyukov skated in his 45th career game and reached 23 points (three goals, 20 assists). It's been a solid rookie campaign for the Russian, who also boasts 64 shots, 64 hits, and 44 blocks for the season.
